APA Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower
Close to the heart of the Kabukicho nightlife district and a few blocks north of Shinjuku Station, APA Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower is another huge, recently built facility to accommodate a surge in tourists leading up to the 2020 Olympics in Tokyo.
Opened in September 2015, the hotel is one of many new buildings that are slowly but surely changing the character of Kabukicho, which has been known as the largest red-light district in East Asia. Other new attractions include Robot Restaurant, a tourist magnet a few blocks to the east.
The APA Hotel Shinjuku Kabukicho Tower (the APA stands for “always pleasant amenities”) is part of the nationwide APA hotel chain of business hotels. President Fumiko Motoya is one of the most recognizable businesswomen in Japan because she promotes the chain with photos of herself on everything from book covers to packages of APA-brand curry.
APA Kabukicho Tower is a 6-minute walk from Shinjuku Station’s East Exit and is located between Seibu-Shinjuku Station to the west and the Shinjuku Toho Building (home to Hotel Gracery Shinjuku and the giant bust of Godzilla) to the east.

Very Good Video. You gave a lot of details. Thank You Very Much. At the end of the video you showed the express check out bins. Do you really simply just put your card in there and leave? I have always checked out with a live person at the front counter. I'm going to Japan for the first time next month and just figuring things out

Hi Jaymeez! Thank you for watching my video and for giving such wonderful feedback! I really appreciate it! With regards to your query, yes, checking-out using the express check-out bins is one option for guests, especially if there are queues at the front desk and you don't want to wait in line anymore. Otherwise, you can also check-out using the machines, or even with a person at the counter. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Have fun in your trip! 😊

Hi William! Thank you for watching my video! Yes, I agree with you. The Kabukicho square seems a bit cleaner before. Unfortunately, especially on Friday and Saturday nights, more and more people have been getting drunk there, leaving empty cans and trash all over. The other parts of Tokyo remain very clean though. For more videos on Japan, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel in case you haven't. Thanks again! 😊

is the breakfast buffet seen here quiet standard/ similar across many APA 3 star hotels in tokyo? How long can you sit in the breakfast room? I usually need at least 45-60 min to have my breakfast and coffee.

Hi! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, yes, based on my experience, the breakfast of this hotel is of standard quality and I would assume is similar across most APA hotels in Japan. There was no time limit given so I think you can stay and have your breakfast here until their breakfast service ends. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your trip! 😊

Great video. Are the prices of the rooms per person? If I get a room with two beds do I have to pay for two people or just for the one room?
@wheretonext1190
@wheretonext1190 5 месяцев назад
Hi Richard! Thank you for watching my video and for giving such positive feedback! I really appreciate it. With regards to your query, most hotels in Japan charge depending on the number of people staying. A twin room for example, which has 2 single beds, can be booked by just one person, and charged for one person. You would pay a slightly higher price (not necesarily double the price) if two persons would use it. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! I hope you have fun in your trip to Japan! 😊

Do you steak I would be fine travelling Tokyo? I don’t speak Japanese. But Tokyo has always been my dream destination . I am solo traveler
@wheretonext1190
@wheretonext1190 4 месяца назад
Hi again Arvin! Yes of course, you will be perfectly fine in Tokyo. Basic English is widely spoken and understood in Tokyo, and there are English signs almost everywhere. A lot of tourists who visit Japan don't speak Japanese as well, and I know a lot of solo travellers who enjoy their visit even to the rural areas, so I am sure you will also enjoy it. 😊

Hey thanks for uploading! Do you think two people can fit?
@wheretonext1190
@wheretonext1190 2 месяца назад
Hi Mo! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, depending on the body size, I think two slim people can sleep on the bed. However, please note though that hotels in Japan are quite strict with regards to the number of people staying in the rooms. This particular room in the video is only a single room so the hotel would only allow one person to stay in the room. You might be charged for an extra person if two people will show up for a single room. For two persons, you may wish to check their double or twin rooms. I have a new uploaded video showing their twin room. You may want to also check it out. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your day! :)

@wheretonext1190 thank you for your response, really appreciate it! Due to your message, ive decided to look for a double for october 😁 Sorry for asking you again, but I've read so many negative reviews about this hotel. At first glimpse looks great! (Especially the location). However, I read that many find it too small (suitcase doesnt fit in a double room), filthy (mold), too hot, loud noises, complaints etc. However I was so excited!! Could you maybe share your experience with me? Thank you would reallt appreciate it and sorry for asking.

Hi again! With regards to your questions, please note that the location of this hotel is in Tokyo's red light district. Especially in the evenings, there would be drunk and even homeless people in the square right in front of the hotel. Yes, maybe it could be noisy for some if you happen to stay there when people are a bit loud. But I have stayed here twice already, and personally, I didn't find it noisy at all. It was perfectly quiet in my room. I also felt safe even if I would walk in the middle of the crowd outside the hotel. Cleaners normally come early in the morning so the trash at night are gone in the morning. As with molds, maybe there are a few here and there, depending on the room that would be assigned to you, but it wasn't as bad that it would bother me. As for the room size, rooms in Japan are generally all small. For my single room, I was able to open my big luggage by the door. I just need to close it when not in use so that I could use the door. During winter and early spring, most hotels in Japan do not use the aircon. Or if they do, it would be on heater mode. So some guests may find it a bit hot inside the room. You can request for a small electric fan though if you wish. Since your visit to Tokyo is still in October, what I suggest is just choose and book several hotels for now that have free cancellation. You still have a long time to research and choose so no need to rush. Just book hotels now and when you have finally decided, just cancel the rest. I have a few more hotel videos coming up so hopefully they could also help you decide. I hope I was able to help you. Good luck on your trip! 😊

Is it possible to put 2 large luggage and one stroller? ( I'm travelling with an infant ), thanks for the video though
@wheretonext1190
@wheretonext1190 Месяц назад
Hi Redha! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, the room in the video is only 11 sqm and so it is relatively a small room. I was able to open a big luggage by the door, but I had to keep it closed when I want to use the door to go in and out of the room. For two large luggages, it will be very tight but you can probably try to fit it in somewhere, standing and unopened of course. The same with the stroller. I don't know how bulky it is even if it is folded, but you can probably try to fit it somewhere. Worse case, you can place it inside the bathtub as temporary storage. Or you can also ask the reception if they can keep your extra luggage and stroller. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! Enjoy your trip! :)

@@wheretonext1190 thanks a lot for the swift reply and very comprehensive insight, definitely would subscribe 👍🙏 Do you have any other recommendation for affordable hotel / bnb chain that would be child friendly? my must have checklist would be at least a chiller / mini fridge to store my wifes breastmilks Is it just me, but I find it a lot easier to find spacious and budget friendly accomodation in Osaka 😬
@wheretonext1190
@wheretonext1190 Месяц назад
Hi again Redha! Thank you so much for subscribing to my channel! I really appreciate it! As with affordable hotels, you can try checking out WPU Hotel also in Shinjuku. Here is the link of my latest video featuring that hotel. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-AsZmuDoy8IY.htmlsi=I-qKKOhBGV_rOpSK Although most hotel rooms in Japan have a mini fridge, WPU hotel also has a common kitchen space with a big fridge which guests can use freely. They also have a big lounge space where you can chill or move around. I think this option would be good for your needs as it is also relatively affordable and in central Tokyo. Yes, I quite agree with you to some extent that there seems to be more budget friendly options in Osaka than in Tokyo. Probably because the central areas of Osaka are concentrated in Namba and Umeda. Whereas in Tokyo, there are several areas that can be considered "central" and so budget friendly hotel options are quite spread out. The Ueno and Asakusa areas are well known to have more budget friendly hotels, as compared to Shinjuku or Shibuya for example. In any case, I hope my insights have helped you in some way. I hope my other videos can help you plan your trip as well. Thanks again! Enjoy your day! :)

@wheretonext1190 4 месяца назад
Hi Arvin! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, yes, basic English is widely spoken in major cities in Japan like Tokyo. Especially in hotels where tourists stay, hotel staff are trained to communicate well with guests. You can also use the Google Translate app in the rare instances that you need it. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! 😊

Hi Jonas! Thank you for watching my video! With regards to your query, I am not sure if I got your question right. But as mentioned in the video also, I paid JPY11,340 for the single room, or around USD77 per night. Rates may be lower or higher depending on the day and season you are staying. I hope I was able to answer your query. In case you haven't, I hope you can also consider subscribing to my channel for more useful travel videos. Thanks again! 😊
