I’m learning that sprayers are like the sports cars of tractors. Nice to see your crop coming in and thanks for the detail on weed types and your driving around to check.
Great vid as ever Mike. I think you are right about the boom positions during transport, very dangerous on junctions and always banging your head getting in and out of cab. Not to mention drips down the back of the neck.
My butthole puckered a little when you dragged the boom tip through the dirt and chafe piles.. lost a couple boots and nozzles by doing that lol. Like your content bud, definitely one of the more comical farmers around.
Great video. I run an Apache 1220 and really like it. Also you can completely stop in any gear since it has a torque converter. A line will pop up under the gear number when the converter is locked, which happens around 1800rpm. You can also change your default start gear.
Pretty brave to let us in on first try , seemed to be pretty straight forward , doubt it will be enough volume for you guys but the torque converter / type transmission looks to be interesting , I'm sure it makes the machine lots cheaper !! Yes we need an update on the big pull type Amazones !!!
Hi Mike. You might of missed my solution to the broken bolts on the seed carts hitches for your air seeders. As you didn't comment. You blamed the maker of the cart / do better. So what you need to do to solve the problem, is put in longer bolts, so the treads of the bolt aren't in the shear area. Easy solution, as i've done this many times on my equipment.
Great video as always Mike. You have the best collection of farming equipment I have ever seen on one farm. It was great to see the honest comparison between the JD 9620rx, Case 620 quad track and Fendt 1050 during seeding. I know you like to do your videos from your phone and full respect for that, if you can, would love to see some more external shots of the awesome equipment you run.
You should really look at the HORSCH LEEB sprayers. They are incredible bits of machinery with extremely good boom control, high outputs and well built. Premium sprayers in Europe. Love the videos btw. We are farmers in the UK and its grest to see how you guys do things over there.
Another awesome video Mike!!😁 Looks like Apache has come a long way with their sprayers. I'm more familiar with John Deere & Miller Nitro sprayers. Take us for a ride in the new Deere and then do a comparison.....Deere vs Apache. 🤙👍😁
What about the two Amazone sprayers you got in December? Also, as big as your farm is why not try a Hardi Rubicon 9000, with about twice the capacity of that sprayer? 🤔
@@riamriam6758 I'm not pretending to be a farmer, i truly am a newb and just a fan of all the equipment. With that said, this guy runs 3 80ft Bourgault Drills and 2 60fters, already has multiple self propelled sprayers and clearly is interested in trying new ones (i.e. New Apache). I just figured with that much land and that big of an operation why not use one of the Biggest self propelled sprayers 🤷♂️. Like i said what the hell do i know though lol.
Hi Mike,Is this the Raven Hawkeye pulsating nozzle system ?We have that system on our new Horsch Leeb PT8.300 sprayer. What brand and size of nozzles do u run for a 10gpa rate?
I have 3 that i own at present. We do custom app. work. I have owned 8 new apaches since 2002. Been very reliable with very little down time. They are more affordable than the others to buy and the up keep cost are low. Since they are gear and not hydro the fuel use is lower. I have a friend who has rogators he lost a wheel motor cost him 12000 dollars to get it fixed. I told him i haven't spent 12000 on drive line repairs on all 8 apaches that i have owned. Is there things i don't like about them. yes there are a few things i would like to see changed. but when i look at what it cost to run them a year in my business i can put up with the little things. they improve them with every new model. And yes there are going to be people who just think they are junk but you will be hard pressed to find one that is cheaper to keep in the field.
We run a 6345 Miller Nitro. You should give one a try. Front mount boom. You'll never go back to a rear boom. 1600 gallon tank. This is a spraying machine.
Hey mike hows it going I was just wondering with your case sprayers what kind of problems do you have cause we got a 4440 patriot and haven’t had much issues just curious
Ours has been mostly Aim Pro issues.. Which they have improved.. But we have had alot of mechanical issues like engines, hydro, wheel motors, ect ect fail on them too
I think you need to start using planes and drones in your farming for seeding and spraying just like Matthew from Rice Farming TV. That will save you a tons of time and money.
They have a plane. They farm 40,000 acres. If you tried to cover all that ground with a plane it would take forever and the cost would be out of control.
Ever have any hunters from the states contact you to get a glimpse in person of your operation in progress? We have hunters that come up to hunt waterfowl on our neighbors land, each year that crowd grows larger and larger, always fascinated in our operation. Your operation is a bit larger than ours so i bet they would be quite interested
I believe you had some issues with the Amazone pull type sprayers. Are they back on a boat to Europe? Larson Farms use a couple of pull type Top Air Sprayer with 120’ Boom & Steerable Hitch that have a 2,400 gal tank and are VERY IMPRESSED with them. I believe this model is to be at the Regina Ag Show if the event is not cancelled due to COVID 19.
They just left yesterday.. I ll update ppl on that when I can here.. They were a 3200gal 132ft boom, with air suspension.. But they weren't built for us in this part of the world.. Amazone has been great to work with tho
Wow spray rigs have come along way from the Big Wheels model I used to run with no monitors, foam markers and a acre counter that would never work through a whole season. Didn’t have auto steer either
36mph and those booms in the way, seems dangerous on the road. I see you can spray rather fast. Still i am curious what the benefit is of such sprayers instead of pulled ones. And driving with only the stick seems strange without a decent footpedal.
Drove an Apache for a season, biggest pos I've ever been in, it was more like a toy for someones kid. Was quite a few years ago and a smaller machine, maybe they've improved their quality some.
🤔 I guess I can't comment on those, this machine definitely surprised us... It was comfortable, (rougher tho) heated and cooled seat, touch screen display, automatic climate control, LED lights, quieter than we thought, and booms and rate controller were great. 🤷♂️ But, it's still only 2 wheel drive, with a 70/30 weight ratio... 😬
@@mikemitchell2554 The base of their product seems okay, it's like they cheap out when it comes to the details and fine tuning the design. Making only 2 wheel drive is just silly.
Mike Mitchell That’s quite a few years ago on 1010 models can’t remember the year. They could of fixed it now I hope they did, but that axle still looks flimsy lol. Damn near rolled the sprayer from it only at 7mph. If going road speed Dad probably wouldn’t of been here today. Been scared of Apache since only buy patriots now
Holy Cannolee Mike, you need to Check out a video called “ Night video spraying with the Fendt Rogator 655” The lighting system on the Rogator is pretty damn cool. Looks like a ufo hovering across the field
@@DEDBRD-di4yj You fendt people need to realize that a lot of your stuff has nothing to do with fendt. Fendt doesn't make a rogator. Agco plasters the fendt name on a lot stuff that isn't fendt. That is an American sprayer. Same with all the track tractors. Nothing to do with fendt. 100% American. Not German
@@zimmermanservice7474 That is not really the case. The Fendt Rogator 600 series are 100% enginered in the Netherlands Europe and now build in Germany! The American Rogators like the 1300 are not branded Fendt and yes they are 100% American.
hey mike at first sorry for my bad english (or kanadian ;) ) because i'm from germany, but what is going on with the fendt rogator or lemken nova from your agritechnica visit last year? and buy the way you and your channel are so FUCKING AMAZING! this content gives me the chance to see THE REALLY BIG machines on the planet and i'm soo goddamn thankfull for your videos please carrie on and "make farming great again" (sry for this "trump") . greetings from germany (bavaria) Your Markus (or also Mike if you want;) and at least have a nice day and never forget to smile.
