Love the Noveske!!! Top of the line! Which S&W's did you buy. My dad just picked up a Sig P365XL Spectre Comp 9mm with the built-in slide compensator. He said it shoots so soft, nearly like a .22. He loves it. At 74 years old his grip isn't what it used to be so the perfect gun for someone a bit older or a lady in my opinion. It was expensive for a 9mm handgun at $1299 but he loves it.
Phenomenal review, I think I’m just about sold on the Apache line vs pelicans. Thanks However the background music level was a bit overbearing and it made your voice somewhat hard to focus on.
Thanks for the reply. Yes, I was having difficulty trying to figure out what db level to set the background music to. I have it figured it now I think if you watch any of my recent vids. Thanks for the feedback.
How do you like it? How well does it work for your equipment? I had an amateur radio license but forgot to renew it…KB9AIM. Current thinking about reacquiring it. What’s the “fun stuff” these days in amateur radio?
Is the rifle case wide enough to pass for an electric guitar case? If so, some Fender or Gibson stickers on it would help deflect negative attention when you have to transport it through a public place.
That’s an excellent idea. It does have a bit of a textured feel to the case so it might take some creativeness to get the stickers to stick well. It’s 50 inches long by 14 inches wide and most people wouldn’t know if a guitar or camera equipment or telescope were in there.
Could be, many companies do that kind of thing. Many of the Costco Kirkland products are rebrands. In our situation they do look very different but I don’t know if one provides more protection than the other. That would be a good test to see. Maybe someone has done that test on RU-vid already?
I know, I’m old-school. When I was a police officer, we were taught firearms certification by Vietnam, Korean war vets, who were taught by World War II veterans. They still used the word clip instead of magazine. I get corrected on this all the time. nowadays, when I’m at the gun store, and I don’t get corrected I’m surprised :-)
This seems like a fairly underrated protective cases company, especially when Pelican is ubiquitous. However, I don't trust Chinese made goods, especially when the company selling these cases is American.
Generally, speaking, I agree with your assessment of buying cheap, plastic, Chinese made junk. However, in the case of these cases, I’ve made an exception. I’ve been using these for over a year now, and they’re great. No, they’re not the most luxurious, brand name, expensive cases at the gun range. But, they’re practical, well priced, and keep my equipment safe, which is really all I was looking for. Maybe I’ll upgrade to a Pelican when I win the lottery :-)
Interesting and useful info... but WHY did you have the "dramatic music" in the background? Unnecessary and distracting. I bailed-out in under 3 minutes.
Why would you transport a concealed carry pistol in any of these for travel? That defeats their purpose. You should have the ccw on your person not locked up in a box in the back of the truck/car/ect. Unless you have multiple options for say winter carry and summer carry and the wife’s versions also then always make sure one is on the person the rest can be in a box…
Good question. You can’t carry any type of weapon into a gun range unless it’s enclosed in a case. CCW or not, it’s not a good idea. Also, if have multiple CCW guns you want to practice with, as most of us do (I have Four) you can’t bring them in without a case. Every person that works there is more than likely armed. That’s how people die. Additionally, gun reciprocity laws vary from state to state, so you are best to have your guns put away in a case unaccessible to you. Additionally, all of these cases lock. If you have children in your house and you don’t have a gun safe this is a good option for you. Also, here in North Carolina were an open carry state, no CCW necessary unless you want to conceal it. Even with a CCW you don’t have an open license to carry it everywhere; certain government buildings, airport travel requirements, liquor selling establishments, etc. I agree that you should have a secure place in your car for a gun safe, but many folks just want a safe place to store their gun so it doesn’t get scratched up when being moved around. For example, I have my grandpa’s 1967 Winchester 20 gauge over and under which if it’s not in my hands, it’s in a case.
@@thehometipsshow gotcha… that’s not a rule at our range in our small town. It’s only been here for a few years now but we shoot 99% of the time outside on the desert or own property, so that caught me off guard.
@@kaden1499 Yea, that's the problem. Rules are so different from state to state. I was SHOCKED when I moved from Illinois to North Carolina and was informed I needed zero training and no license to strap an AR--15 on my shoulder or a .40 handgun to my waist, as long as it's not concealed. Laws be crazy sometimes.
@@thehometipsshow I’m glad that’s the case in NC… should be like that everywhere. I take that back, it should be like that everywhere but it also shouldn’t matter if it’s open or concealed carry, SBR or anything. It’s against the 2nd amendment for our govt and states to put “new rules” on the firearm industry and stuff… I hate all the government crap that’s happened and is happing as we speak today on trying to restrict our 2nd amendment. Have fun shooting!
@@thehometipsshowthe commenter has a point. When you use incorrect terminology, it can lead your audience from taking the rest of your content seriously. I mean this in the kindest of feedback.
As a former police officer, I was trained by instructors that called them clips, not magazines! Just like Grandma calling the refrigerator the “icebox”, and the couch the “Davenport”. As troops came home from WW2 this terminology was used! Just go back and watch a 70’s or 80’s movie. To force someone to call some thing or refer to a person only by a certain pronoun…
Son, in my day they were called clips. That started to change in the Midwest around 2000-2004. You’ll find that many older guys from the Midwest will do the same. We didn’t have podcasts in the 90’s. As a former firearms instructor for my police department, I can assure you I’m not a liberal.
