Hey guys, lets grab a snack and geek out explore apartments with me! Come along on my apartment hunting adventure for under R 6500. I also chat about the neighborhoods I was looking at (Sandton, Greenstone) and provide exact rent prices so hopefully this is helpful to anyone looking to move to these neighborhoods.

Thank you for this. I’ve been trying to find a place. I have a similar price range to yours and all I am finding is old finishings. I even stopped looking because I got discouraged.

Apartment 3 is your choice isn't it? The kitchen is modern plus there's a balcony. Everything else I trust you'll work out nicely 👌🏾

It’s was honestly the size of the balcony that helped. I just don’t see the point of not having one or even a small one for that 🙈

God, the brown floors in Apt 3 are definitely ugly 😭😂 but that place had the best looking kitchen to me.. I’m leaning towards Apt 1 but it is very small..

Apt 1 is so cozy, but it felt like a nice place for like a 2night solo vacation.. can’t picture myself living for a month let alone 12+ 🙈

Hey! My sister and I are relocating there from California within the next three months. We’ve seen some new places which we love! We want to pay a lump sum of 6-12 months up front. Do leasing places allow that?

I don’t think it’ll be a problem, might actually be an advantage. Most landlord won’t say no. Good luck

You may get a massive discount if you do that. But perhaps only do that when you’re here and you know the person is legit. I’ve heard horror stories in Cape Town. Good luck!!

Please when you say have your documents ready, what kinds of documents will they need, because I’m moving to South Africa soon ? And can I get a house with refrigerator and washing machine in the apartment? And a public Swimming pool and gym ?

For those specification you’ll have to consider researching newer built developments/apartments but documents needed: 3 months Bank record + payslips and copy of identification.

Hey, unfortunately I can’t share links as some places are already taken, but if you search apartments in sunninghill you’ll find apartment2. Using apps like private property (the app I used) also helps.

Hey babes quick question, I am moving from home for the first time and recently just started working ❤❤however I have saved more than enough, how do you deal with not having a pay slip?

Each agent /landlord might require different things. Almost always they will increase your deposit for surety. But you can also request an employment confirmation letter from work which will confirm you are employed + salary. And might have to include your contract. But best to find a place you like and communicate with the lease agent, they will best advise.
