first of all i need to say that i loved that apartement! those art deco features, having beautiful sunlight in every room, even the bathroom and toilet had windows, that’s amazing. i am living in a big city and i hate that this century is forcing us to live in small apartments like a box. second thing i want to tell is that i think all those posters go well together. and third is a suggestion, i think a circular rug would be better for the entrance cause you dont have a basic shaped entrance. i am an architect by the way and its so rare for me to fall in love with an apartement that easily normally :D
A circular rug is SUCH a good idea!!! Thank you! And I’m so honoured that you love our apartment, especially as an architect 😍 thank you for taking the time to write this comment!! Xxx
I think the poster you’re not sure of goes well with the Vogue poster. The background colour of the first poster is similar to the lady’s skin tone in the second poster, and the the purple writing in the first poster blends well with the colour of the lady’s top/swimsuit
You guys have such a cute apartment!! I love those stain glass windows on the doors!! 🧡 such a nice little piece of history! Edwardian buildings are my favourite I think, they really had an eye for details!
Love that Ethan is a streetside scavenger. I grew up seeing my grandpa do this, so it's in my DNA also. Lol also your bathroom is so pretty. I love the floor tiles.
Omg I LOVE your place 😍 your decorating style is just *chef's kiss*, it really suits the art deco vibes. Honestly I think you've done such a great job that you don't need to change much. I do agree that the ladder is sorta weird though, maybe put some of your couch throws on it to give it a little zhush? Or a hanging ivy plant so the green gives a little pop against the wood and wall? I also have so many questions! Do you own the place yourselves, or are you renting? Where in Sydney is it (obvs don't tell exactly exactly where)? How can you afford a place so big in the Sydney housing market??? Also Ethan's studio is awesome, so practical to have a space like that, especially in lockdown Anyway sorry for the word vom, love the house, the vid and you! 🌶️
Omg thank you thank you!!! Yes someone else suggested throw blankets and that’s such a cute idea, I definitely love that! Got sooo lucky finding a place this spacious in sydney, we live north of the harbour bridge (but not going to go into specifics lolol) and absolutely love it!!
I may or may not have watched this instead of studying… totally worth it tho. When I move out I’m probably going to use the Art Deco theme too cuz it looks so good!!
@@scrivspo aww that's a shame, it looks like it was a real quality piece and that weight would have meant that it was soild wood & marble. Well I hope it found a happy home!
Love the apartment 🙌🏽 as for design.. I’m no expert.. but I love how you’ve set things up.. AND it’s functional 🙌🏽 LOVE THE PHOTOS that represent both of your background 😊
11:12 i think the dark wood frame matches well with the poster frame above it! it's a theme, the white marble and the white poster on top ties the whole house's white-ish design together :)
Omg firstly I don’t blame u if you move to sydney entirely for the jacarandas. Secondly I am so happy u sleep with stuffed animals I swear to god it’s like snuggling a little cloud every night it gives me so much serotonin
Cool that Ethan's a musician! I'm a musician too and I'm looking to move out and find my first rent place in Sydney. Trying to figure how to find a place that will let me be loud and record for some times of the day. Those acoustic panels were very interesting! Did Ethan get that on the internet or make them himself? Also, do you ever get complaints from neighbours about noise? Does he record vocals at a certain time? Wondering if I should be renting an apartment or a small house
Yo it’s ethan! (Hijacking Harriet’s account haha) It’s definitely something to consider. Making music in an apartment will restrict time of days for sure. They actually are long IKEA seats from a couch. Found em on the side of the road. You can use mattresses or make your own. No complaints here from neighbours here. Just gotta be aware of the sound your making.
