the game itself is just... ok the grouping system sucks (gold veterans vs newbies) but the design system is epic... more games need it BTW i know the real car you used.... really a good copy on your car... looks great
This game looks really good. I'm downloading it right now... why isn't it more popular though? is there a catch to the game that makes it bad in some way?
Perhaps you figured it out by now, but it's: cheaters, unfair matchmaking, and lack of interest from G1. The fact that it (APB) is a shooter, means it will obviously attract its fair share of cheaters. However, the recently added FairFight anti-cheat system, I have to admit changed a lot of things for the better. Obvious cheaters get banned quicker and cheaters that are trying to conceal their cheats are more often exposed than not, but that still doesn't stop the persistent ones from creating more and more new characters. The most annoying thing about this game though is the fact that Gamersfirst and ReloadedProductions (albeit in lesser fashion) seem completely uninterested in developing the game as opposed to earning a quick buck out of it. Sadly the company (RealTime Worlds) that initially created this game went bankrupt a few months after releasing the game. High initial developing cost and a poor return resulted in the sale of APB to GamersFirst who then approached Reloaded productions to partner up with them in developing this game. Since then the game has moved from a monthly subscription based game, to a free-to-play model resulting in a lot of players complaining about the ''paytowin'' factor this game has. Guns and equipment can be bought in an online marketplace but hardly ever in the game itself, rendering the in-game currency next to useless. In all this game has a lot of potential (which is why i've played over a 1000 hours) and is really fun to play when you have a group of people to play with, but it's let down by (a part of) its community and its current developers. If like me you had/have somebody trying to convince you to join them in playing this game, I sincerely advise you give it a shot. It's a flawed yet unique game that can offer almost anybody a good experience. The game needs more players as it's playerbase has decreased substantially over the years, and more players means more interest from a developer viewpoint, which in turn results in a better game.
