Ape Escape 2 Airwalk Glitch - Son of a Glitch - Episode 54

That glitch alone makes a viable Boundary Break episode. Though hopefully I'll have a better method soon. Also awesome episode sir!

One of the things I love about your glitch videos is that you spend time explaining the basics of how the glitches work - not just how to reproduce them or what the consequences are. It makes me feel like I'm having a cool system explained to me, rather than just seeing weird things happen without any context.

One of my fav games I ever played when I was little was ape escape 3, never completed it, but I still love it!

This glitch is also in 3 and 1 but it works differenty in 1 and is much easier. You can use it to get to the street in the TV Tower and the cars there are actually programmed to insta-kill you!

Wow! I never knew that Ape Escape 2 have a glitch! I played Ape Escape 1, 2, and 3 and those are my favorite games on PS2. Thanks for uploading this video! :)

Able to somewhat consistently fly upwards after a lot of practice. Though I must admit this glitch was much easier to get the hang of than the infinite slingshot jump glitch in the first game. Standing on top of the monkey statue of liberty was pretty awesome. To anyone trying this glitch (if there any, most of the commenters don't seem to even have the game), try to make the r1 and right stick movements a natural thing you don't think about and get out of the way quickly so you can focus on the very fast but not simultaneous timing of the left stick and the l1/l2 button (I find the l2 button easier to press.) It's very easy to press the last two at the same time since it's a pretty complicated button combination altogether.

I LOVE how you explain the glitches, and the gameplay footage. You are soo boss.

WARNING! This glitch is waaaaay harder than it looks. Prepare to be very stressed and have sore fingers. Don't forget that jumping and moving R3 is just as important as the other step, and it MUST be fast as well. I tried for about an hour to do this successfully, only managed it a few times. You know what would be awesome? Having a game that's perfectly solid and runs exactly as intended, but has a "glitch mode" that is unlocked once you beat it, which keeps all of the glitches the developers encountered during development. How awesome would that be?

Another aspect with this glitch is that if you use the sky flyer while extremely high up, you'll be warped much closer to the ground, presumably because the sky flyer is programmed to only be able to be used up to a certain height. You can take advantage of this if you'd rather not take fall damage to get back down (although you'd only take half a cookie of damage no matter how high up you are.)

One of the few things I remember from this game is that one puzzle where you had to drive a gadget car through a tunnel to reach a switch on the other side of a door. Damn, took me a hour to figure that out xD

There's the magnet glitch that can happen. I did it a while ago and don't remember exactly how I did it, but instead of attaching to a metal surface I flew to the side and just kinda floated against the boundary.

I was laughing within the first five seconds. This glitch is crazy good.

In the Ape Escape franchise the Slingshot seems to be "The Glitchgadget #1"

Ape escape 1 has a simular glitch where you jump slingshot and jump again, its kind of hard to do but when you master it you can basically jump forever in some levels

It's funny because I'm actually not familiar with this game, but really enjoyed watching about this glitch! haha

Never played this series...heard it was pretty fun though. Like total 3D platforming goodness, or so I've heard. I gotta get around to these games some time in the future and check out these glitches!

5:09 the reason is that the sky flyer attempts to "suck" you up from your height but as you are actually crawling the game thinks your height is whatever it was when you were in the air last (this is my understanding and could be wrong)

oh so this game was a lot like sonic boom. not a lot of glitches but one single glitch can cause a huge amount of other glitches.

I never played an ape escape game but there was q mini game in the ps2 version of mgs3 that let you hunt down and shoot these guys (kind of like catching them) so I guess that counts

I just gave this a try and it's hard as balls to pull off. The best I was able to accomplish was an aircrawl that very slowly went downwards.

this game actually is really broken, but a lot of glitches are just minor physics and momentum glitches. they may not look as cool but they're very important in speedruns (i run this game)

You should do a son of a glitch on tearaway unfolded with its physics you're bound to find glitches

I found another glitch in ape Escape 2 just get the monkey radar and spam it at a monkey as hard as you can if done correctly the monkey icon will turn inverted
