everyone saying its boring doesnt care for any technicle standpoints and only wants to see like fox or characters that move fast. this was a very good and interesting match.
I'm a bros 64, melee and brawl lover, and this match was amazing. Mikeneko is amazing! Slow game? Yes, but beatifull! Chess is slow and amazing too. Mikeneko killed ally 8 stocks, 4 by down smash!
Just to clarify for you guys, counter is not very reliable, you have to get a read to use it but even then you can do way better than that. He had the range advantage so he kept it rather than giving it up for a risky counter.
You know some old dude, the one who keeps saying 'back in my day..'? Some people here are truely acting like those, all complaining about that the new generation sucks and is boring and slow.. You guys have to keep in mind that we, the younger generation only see you guys only in this 'grandpa who keeps complaining that the past is better'. You wouldn't want such people in your community, so do we.
this is not as fast paced as the Tournaments at the conventions here in Fresno, shit get quick fast but almost everyone uses low tier characters just cause they prefer favorites over tiers and SHIT GETS REAL. i mean the matches get so hype and then when it gets to the wire and both players are at OHKO range it gets like this slow and steady. but i like it a bit more fast paced, these people put all of their effort into one move and not relying on the little things which make things excited.
kyle armstrong there was an anime convention in Manchester mall in fresno and also at the tournaments in Silkroad Gallery in river park when they have their parties like once a month
In all seriousness. How much money can really be made in these Smash Bros. tourneys?I'm playing in one next Sunday for the first time (I'm pretty good),how can I be known like Ally,Dr.PeePee etc. and travel different countries to play. Thanks and hope to see you all down the road. [Syxx]
On FD when he was falling out of a juggle and they said he accidentally did that? I still think it was intentional to reset the situation rather then accidental.
There are many ways to get known. Ofcourse, you could also improve and take out notable names which would grant you some fame. But that's not the only way to get known. There are plenty of mid or even low level smashers out there that are known outside of their own circle of smashers. Players of high caliber usually get sponsored by the community to travel abroad for bigger tournaments. European players like Mr-R and Glutonny have received money donations to travel to the U.S in the past.
Nobody great at brawl/good at Marf. Marf is a heavily punishable character and is entirely reliant upon playing perfect. Marth has an amazing amount of choices in many situations but only a few won't end with him getting punished/actually gaining. Simple thinking WILL NEVER equate to Marf. There is a reason Mikeneko is the best Marf in the world. He plays the character in the most ideal way based upon the current meta game.
ally forgot about his dashes last game. the one thing that beats marth... but was i the only one waiting for a shieldbreaker everytime ally's shield was low? so many oppertunities.
Man, whenever I see Mikeneko's Marth, I just think that he's WAY too much in his mindgame... I know that's what Japanese players are strong for, but simple thinking is great too. At many moments he could have taken easy stocks just with simple moves :P Who agrees?
Two reactions after that match. One player nods his head a couple times acknowledging the other players victory but sad he didn't win, then looks to the other player waiting to shake his hand because it was a great match. One player immediately upon winning screams, then as his opponent waits watching him wanting to shake his hand he puts his head down and his hands up and screams again even louder, then notices the extended hand and shakes it quick and looks away even quicker.
