Man i don't think Kage gets enough credit in this set. Dude was playing fucking AMAZING for having the limited yoshi knowledge, especially amsa-quality yoshi knowledge.
+CinderGamer the difference between the two was ganon started off as high to mid-high tier. once knowledge of the game was learned. basically everyone started abandoning ganon noone ever really mained yoshi. Ganon i feel is one new tech away from being back in this shit. if only ganon in melee had that hovering ability like he does in project m. and if he could actually sweet spot the damn ledge consistently. this matchup is dead even tho. yoshi is easily killed by ganon and ganon is one of the most easily juggled characters which is yoshis forte.
God, Prog was such an AMAZING commentator when he was on point....quick thinking, witty comments and spot-on analogies. On par with Wife at MLG.... here's to you Prog!
The announcer on the left is very rude. Having him wave his fingers to me to signal to move over instead of verbally asking me politely didn't leave me with a good impression. I'll be avoiding any further attendance of this show since also, on top of rude and entitled behavior, the place was incredibly small.
Kempatsu Prog is one of the nicest people you'll ever meet, you might have just caught him at a bad moment since he and D1 are super busy most of the day. I don't really even think waving your hands at someone is that rude but I'm sorry that left you with a bad taste and I hope you don't judge based on one small interaction.
Kempatsu You have no idea how much Prog is doing for the community... I know him personally, and he's a nice guy! The only reason he would do something like that is because 1. It was crowded, and 2. he was incredibly busy. Let's have a little bit of understanding for the man!
Kempatsu Hey mah dude, I apologize if you meant me or prog...but we couldn't hear anything nor say anything since the camera was already on us. Please don't take offense, we don't ever mean any harm. We're more than just smashers, we're family.
Whoever said amsa threw eggs out of fear and such is trying to downplay his skill. Amsa is the real deal he can beat top players with yoshi. Deal with it.
9:29 (aMSa uses neutral B on Kage) D1 and crowd: **gasp** Prog: Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa...!! D1: ...he shrinks! (aMSa edgeguards by D-smashing Kage as he tries to recover) Prog: *_THE KID IS DIRTY!!_* D1: *Aaaaaaaah!!!* (Crowd gets hype. aMSa edgehogs Kage as he tries to recover with up B) Prog (again): *_THE KID IS DIRTY!!_* D1: Oh my goodness! Prog (again): *_THE KID IS DIRTY!!_* D1: *Destruction!* And it's-- oh my gosh. We're not even in bracket yet! This is just an exhibition. Prog: The crowd is chanting "Yoshi"...
THIRTY~~~~~ Dood, you have no idea- every time someone gets owned in a game my friends and I are playing, we all start yelling "THE KID IS THIRTY". It's amazing and it's too late to turn back.
Honestly, with this set, his sets against Mattdotzeb, and his match against vudujin in crews a while ago, Kage has the most entertaining matches looool
Yoshi had his doublejump, still. Knowing that he was going to get hit, he double-jumped (with superarmour) and absorbed the hit. Yoshi's superarmour either protects him completely (there is no knockback or stun) or if there is a very strong move, it just stops him in place but he does not go flying off. Unfortunately for Yoshi, most of Ganon's aerials stop him in place, but it's definitely better than dying! Amsa with insane reaction here.
he played for a year casually before he was playing competitively, with the right training and determination anyone with any character can achieve high level play in a year of competitive exp.
You know why I love watching amsa? Because no matter what, he's ALWAYS just having a wonderful time with the community AND he always remains to be 100% entertaining. You can say shit like "people only care about him because he uses yoshi" all you want, but you cannot deny the fact he is entertaining to watch and he knows that character very well. You can't actually dislike or hate amsa. If you do, you are only doing so to be a special snowflake contrarian for attention of some sort. Sadly, I've seen people give amsa shit for using yoshi, and claim he isn't good at all and is only beating people because "no one knows the matchup". Keep making excuses for others.
Official, if I ever get access to Dolphin Netplay or play Melee again, going for Yoshi as a main. Thanks aMSa. Now I just need a new computer and to find myself a cool gamertag..
Dat yoshi technology!!! Good stuff right there, really good stuff!! I love it when top skilled players choose low tiers over fox and other 20xx top tiers!
I'd argue Yoshi's projectile is better than Samus' and, if you have the execution for it, can be used more readily. So yeah, it's not really that far-fetched.
