Brent Smith definitely has one of the best voices, if not the best, of current rock performers. I have seen him perform with Shinedown numerous times and it never gets old.

This dude can sing ANYTHING. He has such control over his voice. You hear the word underrated a lot... But in this case it doesn't even do Brent justice.

I actually convinced the DJ booked for my prom to put this on and convinced the teachers to let me sing it. Now I wasn't expecting anyone else to like it because all of them were loving the pop music that they seem to enjoy nowadays but by the end I had half of my class up on stage with me singing along. This is such an amazing song. It followed me through my darkest days. The music and the lyrics matched the situation and my extreme feelings so perfectly - it nearly blowed my mind. I wasn't strong enough to stay away from a person who was so important to me. A person I adored and felled in love with. I really loved. For the first time in my life. The person didn't feel the same. Or better: wasn't allowed to feel like me. This whole story went so wrong. It almost killed me. Today I feel much better. But I still love this song.
