@Colon Purdie cool thanks for the information 👍 Is there any other differences because I've had a lot of people ask me and I don't have an answer for them. Also is the rear suspension really stuff like that of the Apollo?
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL where and what size? please tell me where amd when you do get the carb upgrade. i am going to buy this bike along with the bore kit if you find one to match the engine
I actually had the chance to ride one of these a few months ago there pretty fun and a lot of power for a Chinese 125 at that they don’t do terrible on the power lines and sugar sand so great for Florida !
@@adriancardona6902 I would say if it starts easily and runs good then it's worth $500 in good condition. If it's in rough condition then I would offer $300. I apologize for the late response.

Haha!! I seen it lift up when you hit second the first time!! Shes pretty stout for her size cc! That top speed ain't bad at all!! Good stuff as always bro!
I have the DB-X18 with the 17"/14 wheels. I put on the MIKUNI VM22 (amazon knock off). I replaced the rear tire and tube with Michelin tire and tube . I put on a rim lock. I put Loctite on everything possible (I can't recommend doing this enough) . I weigh about 225 at 6 foot. I ride it pretty hard on trails in northern Michigan. It is super fun and it keeps going. I have hit 51 mph on a dirt road.
Those engines don't play around on the torque! My Tao DB17 will do the same when I hammer on it, but it tops out at 55 MPH with an aftermarket carburetor! It used to top out at around 48-50 MPH with stock carburetor, due to it running leaner. I've had it for a year now, and no problems at all other than riding the wheels off of it, and needing a rear tire change 😂 But IMO, I think TaoTao, and Apollo is killing it!
At high altitude (Denver Colorado) I always change my oil at LEAST every 3 hours of hard riding, and I've had no issues, other then the truing the front tire way too often! It's not a kx or klm but it's super fun . I've do rev limiters for lack of a better explanation and I've had no issues!
I bought mine a year ago for less than $1000 shipped to my door. Have they really gone up that much in price? Try shopping around you may find another dealer for a better price.
Krispy Cheese just make sure to do your research on what website you’ll be buying it from to save you from a major headache. I’d just get it from amazon
It is a great bike for the money but be sure to get him the big wheel version mine is the x15 which is the small wheel and it would be a little bit small for him.
Such a great happy dude. Thank you man I have just placed an order for the yellow Apollo. With shipping came out to be 1700 399 shipping oh well I hope it’s worth it
Awesome news! Yeah the shipping is far too expensive! But you're really going to love the bike for $1700! Just upgrade the carburetor and it'll never give you any issues! 🤘😎
Hooks up to your swing arm and then the wire goes to the back brake underneath your foot peg so when it hits the ground it pulls on your back brake it teaches you how to wheelie
I'll have to do those mods and do another top speed run and see what the results are. It would be nice if they put a five-speed in the Apollo and not a four-speed that would help tremendously to.
Tune the carb and maybe change the jets. You will hit 50 easier and it will smooth out. Mine was slightly rough until I made some adjustments to the carb. Much smoother afterwards.
I have a Apollo 125 I took the stock front sprocket off and went up to a 17 upfront but you're going to have to file a case down or take a Dremel and cut it where it will fit and the stock chain will fit and you'll get up to 57 miles per hour
You’d be surprised what those things can handle. I found one in a dumpster once all beat up. Motor ran perfect I beat the piss out of that thing for 2 years rev limiter all the time like literally anywhere I went I just had the throttle mashed. Ended up moving and it still ran had to give it to a buddy 😂.
You're welcome brother! Yeah I believe she's running a little rich because she pops a lot which would lead me to believe that unburnt gas is igniting in the exhaust port.
Yeah my buddy is over 6 ft and he had a blast on it and didn't feel uncomfortable however I would recommend you getting the big wheel which is the x18.
@@steezyboiiii808 on that topic, how much do you weigh? im only 105 lbs and im wondering how much fast it couldve gone with me on it since your a full grown man
Yea i have one and i got a mikuni carb and it makes in so much better the one that comes on it from factory is ok but a mikuni opened it up and made it sound alot better
How long have you owned the bike and what’s your opinion on it still? Looking to get 2 for my kids for Christmas and so far youve had the best videos on this bike.
The only issues I've had so far is one or two bolts backing out that either I forgot to loctite or I didn't use enough loctite on. These bolts were the ones holding the exhaust shield on and the triple clamp holding the bars on. Also one other issue I've had is rolling my back tire off the rim which has caused me to puncture my tube twice. The reason the tire rolled off the rim was because the air pressure was lower than it should have been so that's my fault. Otherwise it's been great 👍
QUADNATION 929 awesome. Thanks for the reply. I’ve been all over watching reviews on Apollo’s, SSRs, Coolsters, and many other. Seeing lots of good about the Apollo’s and of course lots of people say just get a pitster. But for the price of a new Pitster I might as well get a nice used Honda
My brother from another quad mother 😂😂😂🤘🤘 bro you're so freaking funny I'm going to start using that one 😂 Thanks bro! I'll have Megatron back front and center very soon for you brother! 👍
I was tooling around my back yard in second gear around a turn and the rpm just pinned itself to max for no reason. Any throttle action did not help, so I shut the bike down. On restart the carb was still set to max throttle. This is the second time btw. This bike is very nice after you modify all the bad Chinese "built in bugs". After my American hands got to work on this thing it's a joy to ride. This bike has a lot of factory flaws that will make you smile after reworking a cheap bike. Take to the trails gently....the suspension on this bike is pure garbage =] I'd rate it a 5 star smile bike but don't treat it like a Honda Suzuki or Kawasaki...you will need a good medical insurance plan for sure if you do. Slow to win!!
Hey man, I was looking to get a smaller dirt bike just to mess around with. I thinking the Apollo. Do you think this bike is good for beginners like me?
Yes because if you don't get it once you learn you will be sorry you didn't get it it's 8:49 at powersports Max 199 shipping Apollo dbx 18-125cc I don't know if you already got one if you did let me know how it's going I like it
I purchased it online at www.powersportsmax.com however they have since dropped the Apollo models and as for other retailers it's difficult to find them for less than $1,000 because they're popularity has grown tremendously over the past year.
When I purchased mine in 2019 at PowersportsMax they were $600 each. They stopped carrying them the last I checked but if you say they're now available for 849 I guess they brought them back and increase their price.
I have the same bike with 14in front and rear tires and I change the front sprocket to a 15t and I have a smaller back one but I forgot how many teeth that have and I'm getting 65 on mines. Also looking to get street tires next
my 14" 12" 124cc dirt bike goes 83kmh gps :) but it has mikuni vm22 26mm and a 14000rpm cdi .. seems a bit much but okay i got it like that. its a tiny cdi.. and it has a oil cooler. and full pro circuit t4 exhaust buy a amazon 26mm fake mikuni works fine :) i cant floor it in 1st it does a wheelie and also when i go from 1st to 2nd still wheelies... i need to change the rear suspension it HARD AF a rock.. and the seat is also hard.. last time it killed my back and spine... and need to change the handle bar... its to low its a fatbar while my 12" 10" (was 10" front rear but they changed it) 120cc dirt bike has a 22mm high pro tapper handle bar that sit great and seat is soft and rear suspension works great... has a racing cdi 11000rpm normale size... same brand as the 14000 one. 26mm mikuni and full fmf power core exhaust not sure what im gonna do, swap the seat and suspension and handle bar or just seat or just suspension... cause the 120cc is okay but euh cant tension the chain... the bolts are dead i tried almost broke them... and its to tight... the 124cc seems less broken. ow both are trump star bikes... the 10" i found it 120cc trumpstar all over the engine but the 14/12 one cant seem to find it. i think they changed every part in it cause even the engine is not stock. but i only paid 140€ a piece. so im happy they are fun. aint complaining for the price
Wow it seems you know a lot about these bikes. I do plan to upgrade the carb soon so I appreciate recommending some carbs. I hardly ever mention comfort when it comes to this bike but that's probably my only complaint, it is very stiff, in fact, to stiff in the rear! 😕 Have fun and be safe brother!
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL not really a mecanic but i learn.. Mostly have no clue what i do but often do find a fix. Im happy with my cheap as dirt bikes.. But its kinda anoying i like the bigger onr more but the small one is more comfortable.. Need to swap stuff around. Cause the rear suspension god damn my ass Hurts + hard seat + im sitting at the end of it. (probably because of thr low handlebar..)
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL i mean aliexpress 20-25€ the carb but if you don't have patience. Buy it for 40€ on amazon. Itd almost the same but the amazon one is a read fake. The aliexpress ones look very real. Either way they work the same. Cheap is fun. ✌️✌️
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL yup. if i keep interest i will fix it. but im kinda slow but also cause i cant find it i go fix my other stuff or just do nothing and try again next day
They are semi automatic bikes lmaooo. You don’t have to hit the clutch at all to shift gears. I’ve had mine for over 3 months and it’s a fuckin beast lol
@@nebraskabmxers I'm fixin' to potentially pick up a used Apollo 125cc tonight, dunno the specific model number. I've only been on actual street bikes, so I'm not as familiar with these cheap pit bikes yet, lol.
I just got my Apollo x18 125cc and has like 50 miles on it. I tried doing a top speed run and it only gets to about 30 and at a high rev and im nervous to send it more? any suggestions? id be happy if it atleast got close to your top speed, Is yours all stock ? appreciate any feedback.
turn off the choke, clean the carb to start. usually people forget to turn the choke off after starting lol. if not those two, i dont know its only got 50 miles
It would definitely do over 50 if you did a carb swap and a sprocket swap n added some octane booster 😂💯 don't ask my xpro does 55 on a good day n 52 regularly
That's why I need to buy one of the upgraded carbs that they offer for this bike because the only adjustment on this carburetor is the idle screw. Unfortunately it doesn't have an air to fuel adjustment screw on it.
my dad said asphalt will ruin the tires quicker than hell is that true? cause I really want not be restricted to grass 24/7 where's the fun in slow speed
Asphalt or wear them down faster but definitely not quicker than hell. As long as you're not doing burnout still at your last a long time on limerock or asphalt.
Can somone please tell me should I get a x-pro dirt bike or a Apollo dirt bike I’m 12 I can’t get a straight answer and I don’t wanna spend $1,465 on something that’s not worth it it’s gonna take 6 month to save up for
Why do you let it sit there and idle and potentially overheat? And why do you keep revving it for no reason all the time? It's air cooled, turn it off if you're not riding it for any length of time, that's common sense. That's not helping your engine letting it sit and idle and get hot for no reason.
This engine has a low compression ratio so it doesn't get extremely heat like other race engines. Yes it would stay cooler and in case I didn't know that was pretty cool of you to let me know but based on my experience riding these machines and rebuilding them the temp that it reaches while idling for 10 minutes or less is not very much on these low compression ratio engines.
@@FREEDOMSYNDICATEOFFICIAL they say to let it get warmed up any way so I don't see a problem idk what that guy talking about as long as its not revving high it should be able to sit and idle
I have an Apollo 125 and I can’t find any videos of the one I have and I’m not sure what year it is but I’ve gotten mine up to 59 mph and that was probably 200 meters and I wasn’t pushing it like how you are, I’m not sure why mine was going faster but I wasn’t going downhill either and it’s all stock. Do you have any idea why that is?
That's a great top speed! It's very possible that it came with higher gearing from the factory possibly a bigger front sprocket or a smaller back sprocket or a combination of both.
Hummm, that's a good question... I've had mine now for 3 years and it's still running strong! 🦾🦾🦾 Ride it hard most of the time too! Chinese dirt bikes from the 2000's were garbage these now in the modern day are much better!
