This review was your best -covered all the angles !! Hope you do more like this from now on :) some comparisons would be nice - Apollo Phantom VS a Vsett9+ is what id love to see
I just ordered mine today! I'm so damn stoked, cruising between classes at UNM will be way better now than the booty-chewin, hill-hatin mountain bike I've been using.
They've fixed it! (Improved apon the flaws of the ghost) This one has a proper thumb speed controller, a proper high mount head light, and a front mud guard that actually guards against mud, this company are obviously listening to it's customers.
After two months of having posted this video: Have you guys had any of the issues some owners are reporting on social media? On specs, I want to pull the trigger, but with al those reports, I don't know if I should wait even longer for the enhancements that actually Apollo has talked about on their own YT channel. From lose and missing screws, to weird throttle behavior, dents/scratches, to some things like the hex display being to dim. What are your thoughts about this? PS: It's hard to understand how there are so many YT reviews, including yours, that are so positive, and having the other side of things, with as many issues popping up, that Apollo has acknowledged them. I don't know what to think about this scooter/model. Why do I ask thus on your YT profile? Because your reviews and videos are, IMHO, the best of all, and I seem to trust your opinion.
Late to this review. Completely new to learning about e-scooters and this is a brilliant introduction with useful details for the uninitiated. Thank you!
What is so hard about waterproofing E-Scooters? The batteries are usually wrapped in sealing plastic anyway? Why can't the electronics be similarly covered? Is it just an excuse to nulify the warranty or what? I had my heart set on the Appollo Ghost but then I see that "OFF ROAD" is not allowed in the stats??? Bloody stupid!
A couple of things I can think of to improve the Phantom: Front Left/Right Turn Indicators, Underdeck Colored Strip Lighting, & Improved Display Brightness in Sunny Conditions.
@@nickmontanaro9638 I'm sure by now Apollo has heard most of the things that the Phantom needs improvement on. I'm holding off and waiting for the Phantom II.
They have alot of good video presentations, but when you get it, it's nothing like you saw! Mine never attained their claimed 38 mph speed, the highest was 25mph. They will try to sell you the"real world speed" story once they have your money which is BS!. Don't claim something your lousy scooter can't produce, that's called lying to your customers!
Hi Roderick, Sorry for your experience but come and try one out. Even the Apollo City goes 25mph and the phantom is much more powerful! Look forward to seeing you!
This is my first scooter and probably the best toy I've had in my 38 years of life ; ) ru-vid.comUgkxvyNuxpWiHTNypxG6nyqyf7ywc7Q16PDM The assembly was easy - Took me 10-12 mins to get it set up and enjoy a quick ride before putting it on the charger for the full charge.I love the push-off feature vs. some of the other scooters that start with direct acceleration. I believe this allows a bit more of a stable start with a jerk reaction. I also like the throttle/acceleration feature that its a slow increase in speed vs. what you would get in a motorcycle. I've taken advantage of the anti-theft system when taking the scooter out to the beach and city. I like the anti-theft system as well as the need to enter a code after you turn it on before you can operate. The powerful front lights are helpful for a night ride. You can see in the picture how powerful the light is as a reflection on the garage. I'm impressed with the lightweight and how easy it was for me to get it set up and going. I would highly recommend this for someone looking for a scooter.
Nice review video and thanks for sharing. She sounds very quiet.. is she sine or square wave controller ? I'm guessing that at the price its square.. but its surprising just how quiet it is which is really nice. Did you find that rubber deck got slippery like the Vsett's do when it gets damp/wet or is it still grippy?
The 52V is square wave. There will be a 60V Ludicrous version of the Phantom with sine wave controllers coming by the end of summer for about $1000 more.
Apollo sucks, socks, had my experience with this scooter that never reached the claimed speed! Will never consider anything Apollo makes, full of promises and good sounding talk, but makes shady scooters!!!
With the range of the scooter 500 cycles would probably be 2-3 years. After that there can be a slow drop in performance but every rider and battery is different. Lots of info on youtube of how to keep a battery as healthy as possible to get the longevity out of it!
Forgot to mention the deck dimensions. Also I think it would have been good to mention that this will be coming in a 60V and a 60V Ludicrous variant with sine wave controllers by the end of this summer. About that range test though, it's hard to believe you got 45 miles unless you babied it (maybe you meant km) . I barely get 17 miles with that same battery size on a 10X with the exact same 1200W dual motors. Unless Appolo did some alien magic with those controllers don't expect 45 miles if you want to have fun. I say 20 max.
Deck dimensions at just after 5 minutes in the vid. We don’t have full detail on the 60v version yet or even when it will be available so didn’t want to put wrong info out there. We definitely got 45miles on the range test, welcome to come down and test for yourself, let us know 🙌
@@RIDEGLIDE My bad on the deck dimensions. I was trying to compare deck length between this and your Nami Burn-e Viper review. This review had the deck dimensions but it was the Nami Burn-e review that did not, so I could not compare. Regarding the 60V Phantom, Appolo did announce the two variants on their channel in an interview. They said end of summer and also their head engineer Eloi mentioned that an updated version of their sine wave controllers, from their discontinued Pro line, will appear in the 60V Phantom Ludo.
If you want power and speed then the vsett 10+ is amazing. For a high performance all rounder then the Phantom is great value for money in our opinion!
Very nice review. There is one issue that might be not so great - the folding mechanism is the same design as xiaomi Scooters have. And they are snapping - the small hook in the front which holds the stem. Phantom has probably thicker hook but still..if it breaks would the pin in the middle hold the stem?
The Phantom is much more compact scooter. The Nami is 30cm deck width and the phantom 21cm. The Nami is also quite abit higher off the ground with a ground to deck height of 30cm whereas the Phantom is approx 25cm. The overall length of the nami is approx 135cm whereas the Apollo is approx. 125cm. Hope this helps!!
I'm glad you mentioned break, I have one that breaks all of the time,Seriously! I would recommend buying something from your "local"e-bike shop! I think it's a rebranded Chinese bike,The way it keeps breaking little things! Or maybe it's just Apollo, quality control. Unless you like wrenching on your bike more than riding it, I would go with Apollo opposed to your local shop. This is my real review It should save you thousands of dollars.
I’m new to eScooters. Can someone plz explain the primary differences between this Phantom model and the $1500 Ghost model also made by Apollo? Also, what’s the Phantom’s price? I didn’t hear that mentioned here. Thx!
I got the V2 and after only 6 miles the bearings started to make lots of noise in the back, and the front wheel wabbles pretty hard so I don't feel very safe at speed and Apollo is not being quick to help fix the issue. But having it for a week, so far it's fast and has got good take off. Just want to get my new scooter fixed so I can ride!
That doesn't sound good! They are normally really reliable and lovely to ride. Did you get it from a local dealer as they should take a look straight away for you? 👍👍
Before riding mine for the 1st time, I lubed the axles and suspension with lithium grease, and after 55 miles, no issues. I think Apollo's main problem is that their quality control isn't very good. When the unit is built correctly, it's awesome. But it's not acceptable that so many of their customers are basically gambling on getting a workign unit.
@@RIDEGLIDE I got mine from their web site but I could tell that it was probably ridden and assembled before I had it. Because the handlebars should be loose all the parts there, but they were already tight and adjusted for a previous rider. I noticed the front wheel was definitely oblong because when you drive it the front tire was vibrating so bad. I work at a tire shop and I use it everyday for getting to work but the front tire has always vibrated no matter where I put the wheel weights. I ordered some new tires so I hope that will help but definitely should not have been sold with a tire so off balance. Very dangerous. But once I fixed that part somewhat it is fast and fun!
@@robbybobby410sometimes it's just the tube is not properly seated, try deflating completely, then put just 15 psi, roll gently on it for 5 meters and then fully inflate to 50 psi
How would the dynavolt cells compare to LG or Samsung cells do you reckon? There isn't a lot of info on them other than they are made in China. Will they stand the test of time? How would you compare it to a zero 10x or similar, I was going to buy a zero but now I'm thinking Apollo!
@@marciusselisana9359 I hope not... I emailed them beginning of May and they said it would be shipped this month. I ordered directly from apollo in march
Awesome..have you guys ever tested bigger brakes using an adapter? Such as buying the plate and going from a 140mm or 160mm in this case to a lightweight 203mm. I did this on my mountain bike. Maybe even going to a hydraulic brake like Avid 1 from the mechanical brakes? You would think scooters will adapt valve's shocks like a 85cc dirt bike too. Maybe 35mm or something close to that.
@@RIDEGLIDE I thought that when I heard the clanging! Take the other key off when doing a review 🤣 On a side note what happens when the customer loses both keys supplied with a key ignition - do you make more or is it a new ignition?!
Tip for you people trying to carry the escoots , just leave the front tire on the ground and roll it around ... lol that is im assuming the tires still free roll when the power is off on this one.. i just ordered a phantom to replace my segway ninebot es4 and i never carried the segway when folded i rolled it.. so much easier, segway is only about 15 lbs lighter
