I really hope the creator of this video knows that he just saved me from making a $3500 mistake and I am super grateful for that. My Apollo x16 has worked fine for other DAW's but NOT PROTOOLS. Says it is eating up my cpu and that I need to delete native plug-inz! I just needed to lower my buffer size within my daw and everything was fine, Pro Tools works great and is running fine, no issues with CPU AT ALL! I was under the impression that my Windows PC was the problem and that I needed a Mac.
Thanks so much! I see that you are using pro tools HD with the apollo as the interface! I really want to know how can I have pro tools HD hooked up with apollo (apollo 8p in my case) via thunderbolt as my interface? without the HD omnis and interfaces... I don't know if there is a way to get the pro tools HD and to benefit from the PCie card + using the apollo 8p as the interface. or if it is possible to have pro tools HD without using the HD interfaces (that goes with the HD system).
Question... I recently upgraded the software on my Apollo 8 and now I have lost 4 of the virtual channels.. they are greyed out. How do I reactivate them. Any help would be appreciated.
This is my problem many of your setup instructions do not match my midi audio devices. I do not have - numbers to configure virtual so my speakers configuration does not match, so I cannot reroute to virtual faders. If you guys would respond to my requests maybe this could be an easy fix.
barely got thru this horrendous tutorial and my speakers cut out from changing the settings, how could y'all make it this difficult to use pro tools with an Apollo?
Go into protools I/O setting; under first monitor (speaker) option. Right click on I/O & add virtual 3-4 (paired in uad console 1st) to be part of speaker configuration. Then add uad console recall 🤔 plugi n to ur master mix bus 1st & click on sync. Now it goes thru uad console & mixer 1st before protools... lmk cheaaaa trust me this is how ya do it
Ya me quedo más tranquilo viendo que no soy el único que no se entera de como hacer esto...jajajajaa Un tutorial en español no vendría mal,que entre que lees los subtitulos y miras,al final no sabes si tienes una Apollo o un pollo :D :D :D
How to get low latency monitoring in pro tools working with UAD console app?? Once you route the pro tools main output to virtual channels. Low latency monitoring stops mutating the output so you can hear a doubling of recording when monitoring. Please help me. I love UAD but this is a big deal
Here's the one thing I wish these videos had: why. "You do this, and here's why." "You do that, and here's why." "You do the other thing, and here's why." Rather than do this, do that, and do the other thing and bang, there it is. It would help to build the concept of WHY you're doing it so that you can gradually understand how everything works together. Not "change this, configure that and you're done."
I would like to know how I can reduce latency, since when I record in pro tools I have latency when I select record, I have lowered the buffer size in 32 but continuous, the option I made was muted the Universal audio console app is correct? I have pro tools 10 Apollo twin mkII solo Mavericks Mac
i have apollo twin x the mic is connected and working on the console and the headphones are in the headphone output but no sound from the mic the meter is moving to the sound of the mic but no feedback on mic or desktop please help i havent found a single solution
@@aaronmontero2633 I figured it out on my end. One of my plugins were expired so the tracks with the plug-in on it would not play sound. Check all the plugins to make sure they are all valid
I'm having trouble with my vocal feedback plug in on Apollo Pro Tools 12. It won't show me the volume or even when I record it I can't hear my vocals voice
I'm having problems to with my mines I have to put it all the way up to hear myself thru the headphones then when I record it sounds distorted I'm ready to get rid of this twin an get a good simple interface it's jus to much you gotta do with the pollo twin fuck dat!
The console settings window looks nothing like what I have. Can you please just do a basic "here's how to get a signal"??? Every time I try to record in PT with my UA Apollo Twin I spend hours trying to figure out how to get a signal and then just end up using garge band. This video is NOT HELPFUL.
It's too bad the video is so bad. Don't get me wrong the production quality is ok from a visual and audio point of view. Everything can be heard and seen. However it's clear that these guys did not hire any educators to help include essential information and use a scenario where anyone could follow along. Instead it appears they must have hired someone who uses the interface to tell people what "he" thinks we need to know. But without any sense of how to deliver the information in a way that makes sense. Because the production quality is good -- you think you're getting professional presentation -- it's confusing because you see good production quality you expect them to know how to professionally disseminate information so that it is understood and remembered. This only happens when the subject material includes both "how it works" and "why you do this instead of that" instead of doing what they did here which is to just give you the "what" and pretend you're a machine who knows exactly what they mean and all its implications. Sad but this is the current state of most video teaching. It's extremely time consuming to make good video productions so too many companies fail to do what is really needed. Besides hiring a pro to produce your videos and have nice voice overs and all that good stuff -- is to actually study the forums and what the user base is saying -- or get an actual user that's representative of someone with limited knowledge who is staring at a new product. Then you make sure the person is also a professional educator who can ask the right questions and tell you where all the blind spots are. Then and only then can you make a video that actually teaches something instead of leaving people more confused.
Does no one know how to pause a instructional vid, it’s point to point instruction and not that difficult to follow but it’s been a year since most of the complaints so hopefully you got it figured out by now or sold your interface also “part of the problem with pro end gear is you should have a little more pro and not so much gear” an Audio engineer and business owner at the first mastering house I ever worked at (for free) told me that and it’s good advise, if your still lost go back to the basics
