APOSTOLIC “HEAR O Israel, the Lord our God is ONE LORD.” - Deut. 6:4
Hey guys! I’m so stoked to share another #BIBLESHOT with you guys on the Oneness of God! This time we’re taking a quick look at exactly who Jesus was praying to in the Garden of Gethsemane. I’ve gotten a number of questions on my last couple of Oneness videos about this, so I figured instead of replying to 50 different comments, I’ll just make a video giving a quick explanation :)
The Oneness of God is SUCH a vastly deep topic, there’s no way I could dive into it without breaking RU-vid’s time limit on videos ;) There’s so much more I could say on this particular topic alone, let alone the entirety of the Oneness of God, and so we’ll dip more into this powerful topic in future Bible Shots. So stay tuned!
Don’t forget to join in our weekly Instagram Livestreams THURS at 8PM PST (aka West Coast time).
Be sure to LIKE, SUBSCRIBE, & most importantly SHARE the video! Leave a comment below with any suggestions for future #BibleShots you’d like to see on this channel.
Love ya fam xoxo

--------------------
My purpose in this video is not to belittle anyone’s Christian upbringing, but to simply show what the Bible says about the Oneness of God while giving scripture that backs this truth. We Apostolic Pentecostal Christians believe:
1. There is only ONE GOD.
2. Jesus and God are ONE in the same (the man Christ Jesus was the Mighty God Himself robed in flesh so that He could be the ultimate sacrifice to redeem humanity from their sins).
3. The plan of salvation is explained in detail in ACTS 2:38
-▸ REPENT
-▸ Be BAPTIZED in the NAME OF JESUS (not the titles!)
-▸ Receive the HOLY GHOST (with evidence of speaking in other tongues. And YES, it’s necessary)
4. Live holy lives, a living sacrifice unto the Lord (Romans 12:1)
Everything we base our beliefs on is blatantly shown in the Word of God. It’s not something we just conjured up for the fun of it all. We want to live as close as we can to what the Bible instructs, for it is His Word, His love letter to humanity.

PHOENYX hi my sister you’re getting it wrong i know you wana serve God but Jesus Christ is not the father or the Holy Sprit he is the son of the living God please read this my sister. “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremiah, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Bar-jona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven.” ‭‭Matthew‬ ‭16:13-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬ bible.com/1/mat.16.13-17.kjv

Eseosa Osagiede you know when Jesus talked of the holy spirit, he said I will send the comforter to you, and said I will be with you. God is God. I AM THAT I AM... We never hear anyone say God is a quadratic God even though after Jesus died he appeared as a stranger. No one says the stranger is a part of the Godhead. Because there is only ONE LORD! Hope this doesn't sound mean or anything, thats not my intent! But we don't serve three we serve one!

You contradicted yourself. You said that God manifest himself and three ways, God the father, God the son, and got the Holy Ghost. You have never heard someone say three gods. That is an ApostilicFake argument. God the son Who is Jesus has flesh, God who is the father does not have flesh. That’s why the Bible says that for God is a spirit. God in the flesh is Jesus Christ his son. God the father does not feel hurt and pain but God the son does because of his flesh. So you are right there is one God with three manifestations. No one has ever said three gods that is something the apostolics make up.
@ginessalyn
@ginessalyn 6 лет назад
Hello, I just wanted to reply to clarify that I did *not* contradict myself, and the "three gods" statement is NOT something that Apostolics made up. I have family who truly believe there are three separate beings in Heaven (i.e. three gods) who are NOT Apostolic. Majority of them are Catholic, some Trinitarian. If you look at any Catholic depiction of the Godhead, there are three distinct beings, and Catholics themselves describe three distinct beings, as do many Trinitarians (as I said, majority of my family is either Trinitarian or Catholic). God in the flesh *is* Jesus; God = Jesus. There's no separation of the two, no distinct personalities, no difference aside from the *role* that God played as Jesus, as the Father, as His Spirit. There are MANY roles and titles that God has, not just the Three. But every Trinitarian I've heard explain the Godhead has separated these "roles" that ONE God plays as three distinct PERSONALITIES. So either they proclaim "three Gods" (#1 God the Father, #2 God the Son, #3 God the Holy Spirit), or they proclaim a God suffering form multiple-personality disorder. We as Apostolics do not believe either. We believe ONE God with ONE personality manifested Himself in different roles. Just as ONE man is a father (if he has kids), he is also a son to his parents, a husband to his wife, an employee to his employer, a grandson to his grandparents, etc. He has multiple ROLES, but he is ONE man with ONE personality. There is only ONE God with ONE personality, not 3 personalities in one.

Please my friends Read the bible in context the Bible says in JOHN 3:16 For God so loved the world he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. God the father sent his son (Jesus Christ our Lord and saviour) God the father didn’t send him self so please stop contradicting the bible
@westoftherockies
@westoftherockies 5 лет назад
@Jonathan Coc lol, the entire Godhead is one, sorry bud but modelism isn't biblical, the ONE GOD is father, son, and Holy spirit, they each are fully God, they are ONE, but Jesus is God and in him is the father and vice versa, they are not sperate but there is father son and holy spirit, the three are one, so john 10:30 isn't contradicting the biblical Godhead or triune nature of God, "let us make man in our image".

I find it funny how trinitarian's best arguments are rhetorical questions like "who was he talking to?" or "who is 'us' referring to?" when we have scripture after scripture stating plainly that God is one. (Deut. 6:4, John 10:30, John 14:9.... need I continue.) But they're so ready to throw them all out to answer a question that a little bible study can answer plainly without turning God into a trinity. There is no place in the bible where God ever claims to be more the one. Colossians 8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. 9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.

I'm sorry but it is difficult trying to explain the Oneness of God to trinitarians. I myself was one of them until I was baptised in Jesus Name and received the gift of the Holy Ghost. I sat and asked Him myself is He three or is He one. When God revealed that He is one through His scriptures, I no longer believed in this trinity nonsense. John 14:26; Galatians 1:11-12 tells you it's Him that teaches you. Even though there are trinitarians that receive the Holy Ghost they believe the voice of man more than God. The Book of Isaiah shows there is no other God for He knows not any. But if our gospel be hid, it be hid to them that are lost 2 Corinthians 3-4. All we can do is pray that they receive the truth just as I did.

At 5:00 in video so maybe you mention this verse but for me this is one of my favs to reference when telling others about the oneness of god. I also was gonna use it in a sermon I preached on recently but never got to it. 1 Timothy 3:16. And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.

YES! I LOVE THAT VERSE. I get chills every time I hear or read it! I didn't want this video to be too long, and I wanted to focus it on Gethsemane, so I didn't dive into the verses that declare Jesus as God as much as I would in a "Jesus is God" Bible Shot. But that just means that I'll be making a ton more, and I'll definitely be diving into verses like these that blatantly declare the Jesus was God come to Earth as a man. *praise break* Thanks for watching bro! God bless ya!

@@flowerblooms5792 greetings. Whenever the JWs present that line of reasoning to you, that 'God' was added to the verse, refer them to verse 15 which is an antecedent to verse 16. So while verse 15 in the JWs bible says 'He was manifested in the flesh', verse 15 mentions 'God', which shows that the HE in verse 16 in their translation, is God in verse 15, from their same version. There are little ways to get around their reasoning. Now while they tell you that 'God' was added to verse 16, in place of 'He', you could ask them why is the indefinite article 'a' added to Jn 1:1, where in their bible it reads 'and the word was a god' instead of 'and the word was God'.

Phoenix, you seem to be a very nice person and, I believe, my sister in the Lord. But you really didn't adequately answer the question or cast any doubt on the Trinty. I know the Trinity is hard to understand and explain, but so is Oneness. Praise God it's not a salvation issue. You are saved by genuine repentance and childlike faith in Jesus Christ, not by understanding complex doctrines.

I HAVE ONE question for every Christian theologian, every pastor, every teacher, and every sectarian doctrinal enthusiast. Since all of today's Christianity is grossly devided by each of your denominational walls of separation, here is the pertinent question: "Which of your many doctrinal belief theories are you planning to change?" If "none" then why not?

Here's also a very good points to bring up when Messiah is praying In The Garden of Gethsemane. When asking a trinitarian how many Wills does God have, they will tell you that God, as three persons, has only one will. Will meaning desire. But in the Garden of Gethsemane, Messiah says, not my will be done, but yours. This implies two wills. So either there are two different Wills of God, or it is the humanity of messiah's will that is being spoken of. Thus proving it is that Humanity side of the one God that is praying to the father.

what confuses me is in Luke 23-46 Jesus says ''Father into Your hands I commit My spirit'' If the flesh was crying out to divinity, does this mean that Jesus was committing his spirit over to the spirit he was praying to? Or is the spirit side He was praying to the same spirit He committed over into the hands of his spirit side?
@FreeinChristForever

Amen, and to help out a little further in understanding this scripture those I fellowship with and I have found that returning to the original Hebrew really helps. In this scripture Christ was actually entered into the spirit realm and was praying for the disciples and into the disciples endurance and perseverance despite what they would go through during His trial and then crucifixion. He knew they wanted “ this cup to pass from Him. That they were saying to Him “Father let this cup pass from me,” because inJohn 14 He told them that He was their Father. But He was telling their souls that it was impossible but it had to be their will to let His Will be done. The Hebrew word for father is Ab and it also means bud. So He was also praying that they would spring forth concerning the Gospel and not fear but perservere.

There seems to be a lot of backlash to what she is saying. This is how several of us Apostolics were taught that it's just one. That Jesus & God aren't seperate individuals or deities. When you study scripture, the historical context, and words of both Greek along with Hebrew. You gain a deeper clarity of God. There needs to be open communication on both sides of beliefs & please don't spew hate. We are called to love. Only God can open the hearts of us to see him how he he is.

I have a question, in scripture, its stated God cannot die, so if Jesus was God, then Jesus/God could not had died on the cross, which means there was no sacrifice of life made and our sins were never washed away and we never had been brought back into fellowship with God if Jesus/God never truely experience death, then he never died for our sins. I'm not trying to be confrontational I'm just stating the obvious and hopefully someone can explain it, without getting defensive.

Jesus became sin itself in the garden and was pleading for mercy, which is what sin would have done and sufferred the brutality that sin deserved. He literally took the sufferring that all of us would have one way or another been subjected to. And having conquered the curse put upon us, we now owe our lives to him. All he asks is for us to belive and trust in him and to love one another and stand firm in him. This video was great and i pray that all recieve our lord and savior Jesus Christ as the head of their lives. Make deliverance and repentance a daily task to remain etified. Glory be to God Amen.

People attempt to limit God by saying He cannot be all three of these things at once. "Once" / ONE . John 1:1-5 says: 1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was in the beginning with God. 3 All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. 4 In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. 5 And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [a]comprehend it. /////////// John 1:14 says: The Word Becomes Flesh 14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Answer these: 1. Jesus is hanging on the cross. God cannot watch and turns his back. what? how? why? 2. If Jesus is the father, God, Jehovah....why would he, as a man, ask his heavenly father, to let this cup pass. In allll that you said, you still did not answer any part of the question, about Jesus PRAYING IN GETHSEMANE. You rattled all the Jesus Only verses known to man, to try to prove your point. Yes, I know them....I grew up learning them. 3. Why would the word of God, make a differentiation between a father and son, if there is none? 4. How can God, the creator of Lucifer, be tempted, by him, in the desert? Are you willing to admit, that God, our father, can be tempted with sin, which he so adamantly abhors? P.S.: we have the self same spirit, that we are to show as an example to others. Being one with God, we also can show others our father. Please, without using the set list of few scriptures that all oneness folks learn to recite, explain....

Girl, I don't know where you missed the part of me actually explaining WHY Jesus was praying in the garden, but I did explain. It was short and not too in depth, yes, because the nature of this video is quick and to the point. Obviously you no longer choose to believe Oneness, so why waste your time watching and commenting on videos that are just going to make you "want to beat [your] head against the wall" like you said on my other video? But hey, it's your own choice **shrugs**. Also, you sarcastically accused me of "rattling on all the Jesus Only verses known to man", but the thing is: *are they not in the Bible?* I am *quoting scripture*, I don't see how using the Word of God "to prove [my] point" is a bad thing to be sarcastic about???? The thing is I can sit here typing out responses to your questions, but there's really no point, for you've already chosen your stance. Nothing I say is going to change or affect your choice, and it's only going to open a door up of debate that I'm not willing to waste my time on. BTW, I studied the Bible out for MYSELF. I was not given a set list of verses to memorize, but even IF I was, it's STILL THE WORD OF GOD. Don't see how it's a bad thing.

Stephen was a Grecian jew who believed in One God and when he saw Jesus standing at the right hand of God (First of all if God is a spirit this statement is wrong as Spirit does not have flesh or blood) - it talks about the that Jesus is in the power (as right hand always talks about the Power of God both in the old and new testament) - However, the point is Stephen the jew who believed in one God Bible says in verse 59 And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit - HE GAVE UP his spirit to Jesus which means he saw only JESUS - In case Stephen saw trinity there- WHERE WAS THE HOLY SPIRIT in the trinity?

If there's anybody who can answer my questions, please do so, for I ask wanting to learn and not trying to say that you're wrong or anything like that. Ok, she said that God is in earth and in heaven at the same time, and it was the the man Jesus that spoke to the God in heaven, which is the same one person. Doesn't that still mean that Jesus was talking to Himself? Because if Jesus was talking to the same Jesus, and not a different person, it would still mean Hes talking to Himself. Then she went to the prayers of Jesus, and its there where I really have a hard time. Because one of the qualities of personhood, is having a will. So when Jesus says, "not my will but as thou wilt," He expresses His own will distinct from the Fathers will. Then she goes to John 10:30 to settle the dispute in Jesus prayer by saying they are the same. Well, the problem I find there is that it would still mean Hes talking to Himself. And the problem I have with John 10:30 is where it says,"I and my Father...." Here, I see that Jesus is making the distinction between Him and the Father. If there was no distinction, I believe He would have just said that He is the Father. To say, "my Father and I," would be unnecessary if He was the Father. And if you read one verse before John 10:30, he says,"My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all; no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand." He says the Father has GIVEN them to Him. Here I see 2 subjects, and one subject is giving [verb] to the other subject. If Jesus was speaking of Himself, I think thats illogical, because giving something to yourself would mean you already had it. So there would be no point to use this language. Once again, I ask in curiosity. The oneness belief sounds so good, but its things like this that stop me from believing. I'm not the type of person who will just accept any answer someone gives me. If someone helps me catch the error in something I believe, I need to know the answer. I'm not closed minded. Thanks and God bless

Thomas Lundy, you are exactly right brother. I posted this question when I was curious about the oneness position. But after researching their doctrine, reading books, and watching debates on this topic, I realize that even though the oneness idea sounds really good, it just cannot fit into scripture. Oneness advocates give unconvincing answers to some of the most problematic verses [John 17 : 5, Philippians 2 : 5 - 7, John 1 : 1, Hebrew 1 : 8] that show that the Son pre existed before His birth in Bethlehem. Along with other verses that are given not so convincing interpretations. And what's worse is that people will just accept any answer they give them. Just look how people on the comment section are saying good job, when in reality her answer was not all that convincing. Thank you brother. I now know the truth. Scripture will not let me believe in the oneness position. May God continue to bless your walk. Many blessings
@caseycruz7311
@caseycruz7311 7 лет назад
Adontee Neddham, I understand what you are trying to tell me. I wrote this comment when I didnt understand oneness theology. But now I do, and basically what you're trying to explain, is that the Son (being the human nature) was praying to the Father (being the divine nature). And the Father was dwelling in the human nature (the Son). But, there still a problem with this. For example, in John 17 : 5, it says "and now, Father, glorify me in Your presence with the glory I had with You before the world began." So, according to oneness theology, the Son (being the human nature) is praying to the Father (being the divine nature.) Well, there is a big problem with this. Notice, that the human nature is demanding to be glorified by the Father with a certain type of glory. That glory, being a glory the human nature shared with the Father at a certain time. And that certain time was before the world began, more specifically, in heaven. So in what sense can a human nature have at one point shared glory with the Father. Jehova says He shares His glory with nobody. So it would be blasphemy for this human nature, a mere man, to speak to the Father in this way. And notice that this human nature claims to have existed before the world was. Oneness theology teaches that the Son (human nature) did not come to be until his birth in Bethlehem. But here the Son says he existed before that time. Way before. But I've heard explanations for this verse, being that the Son is talking about a predestined glory that was in the mind of the Father. God always spoke of things of the future as if they had already happened. And this interpretation was actually pretty reasonable for me for a moment. But I later found out that this interpretation falls short for a couple reasons. One, being that the glory that the Son spoke of was not an earthly glory, but a glory before the world was. Two, the Greek word for 'with' in this verse is 'para', which can mean near to, close to, beside, or in proximity with. So the Son was saying that he shared glory literally beside and near to the Father. A plan cannot be literally beside a person, only a person can. So the Son is saying that he was literally beside and near to the Father, sharing glory. So the only explanation is that the Son is a divine person who is also flesh, distinguished from the Father. And, while the human nature of the Son is praying, the divine nature of the Son is referring to the glory he shared in the presence of the Father. Since the Son is the one God, and the Father is the one God, this does not contradict where God says He shares His glory with none other. Because they are the one God. And there are more verse. I've looked into this topic with curiosity and with an open heart, yet I'm still not convinced. I'm not closed minded. I've changed my mind on many things because I believe in the facts and truth. And it's hard for me to read the Bible from the oneness view. When naturally reading the bible, when looking at the Father-Son interactions, just by the grammar alone would lead one to believe that the Father and Son are two distinct people. Doctrine is derived from scripture, but the oneness doctrine seems like you're interpreting doctrine into scripture. And you said to pray for a revelation. Well, realize it or not, the bible is that revelation. And the the bible does not let me believe in the oneness doctrine. And if you're going to trust in your feelings rather than the word of God, you are mistaken. Because if you feel one thing, yet the bible says another thing, who are you going to believe. If you think God gave you that revelation, and if the bible says something that is the opposite of what you feel, then that feeling you got is not from God. God doesn't contradict himself. And what you said about sending another to be crucified. Well I do believe God came down, but it wasn't the Father. John 1:1 says "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The Word is the one who became flesh, not the Father. That Word is the Son who's name is Jesus. John 3:16 "for God so loved the world that He sent His only begotten Son." God sent His Son-the Word. I appreciate what you're trying to do. The oneness doctrine sounds soooooo good. But, no matter how I like how it sounds, the bible will not let me believe it. This is why the Trinity has been believed by the majority of Christians throughout the centuries. But if you have any responses to my questions, I would be happy to hard them. If they are convincing and reasonable, then I will change my mind. Yet, nobody has done this for me. But God bless you're heart for taking initiative to spread the word. May God bless you and have many years. One God, one faith, one baptism, one gospel
@caseycruz7311
@caseycruz7311 7 лет назад
esireed ottonc , I get what you're trying to say, but my problem is not comprehending God. Nobody can. The problem is the that I can't seem to fit this doctrine into scripture. I believe that God is the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, but they are not the same one person. They are three persons who are the one God. For example, in John 1:1 it says, "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God." The Word was with God. If you go to 1 John 1-3, it talks about the Word of Life and how the people beheld his glory, and the Word of Life was with the Father. So the 'God' whom the Word is with is the Father. And notice the word 'with.' There are a few words for 'with' in the Greek. They are 'pros' and 'para.' Here, it's 'pros', and 'pros' can be defined as moving to, moving towards, or face to face. John would always use this word when describing personal relationships. John 1:29 uses the word 'pros', and is translated as 'moving towards." Romans 5:1 says, "having been justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." 'Pros' is used here as well for 'with.' 'Pros' is always used when using two or more personal subject. So this word dismisses any claims that the Word is a plan. You cannot be face to face with a plan. It's an abstract noun. And the third clause says "and the Word was God." The Word is the same one God. Also, in the Greek, the word "God" is placed before the verb and doesn't have an article. Basically what it means, is that it's describing the nature. So the Word was in eternity past, the Word was face to face with the Father, and the Word was to its nature deity. Also, the verse continues to say that 'He' was in the beginning with God and things were made by 'Him.' John uses personal pronouns to describe the Word as a person. Then that Word became flesh and dwelt among us. The Word dwelt among us, not the Father. And John 10:30 is a trinitarian verse. Notice it says 'My Father and I.' Two subject are one. We believe that. You just understand it in a different way. So my problem is not understanding God. It's the fact that the oneness doctrine cannot fit into scripture. Believe me when I say that, whenever I heard this doctrine, it put many doubt in my mind of the Trinity. It sounds really really good and understandable. But sadly, it cannot fit into scripture. I wrote my comment when I was seeking answers. I've done my research, seen debates from professional pastors, and the Trinity position all stood up. But God bless you for spreading the word. I pray that God continues to bless your walk, and that we all can be guided into truth. Many blessing and more.
@caseycruz7311
@caseycruz7311 7 лет назад
esireed ottonc, I never said anything was wrong with the scriptures. I was saying that the oneness doctrine contradicts scripture. You're right that the Father and Jesus are one. But you understand it to mean one person. Of course if you look at the one verse, you could come to that conclusion. But you have to look at all of scripture and put it in harmony. But yes, that Father and Jesus are the one God. If you still don't understand, you probably don't understand oneness or Trinity doctrine. And oneness pentecostals dig deep into verses all the time, because digging deep into scripture gives clarity to numerous subjects. But when it's used against oneness theology, then it's a problem. And I never said "the Word is not God." That's not what I was trying to say. I thought you were familiar with oneness theology, so I thought that I didn't have to give so much clarity. But basically, when it says that the Word was God, according to the Greek (the original language used of the New Testament) the Word was divine in nature. I pointed this out because of some arguments I've heard pentecostals use, and I thought that you might have been aware of them. And Jesus is not the name of God. Exodus 3:13 - 14 says "Moses said to God, “Suppose I go to the Israelites and say to them, ‘The God of your fathers has sent me to you,’ and they ask me, ‘What is his name?’ Then what shall I tell them?” God said to Moses, “I am who I am. This is what you are to say to the Israelites: ‘I am has sent me to you." When God says "I AM” he is speaking his name. In the Hebrew language that this verse was written in, the letters are yod, he, vav, he, from which we get YHWH.

casey cruz I would just like to say that I admire your honesty and your willingness to learn. The Bible speaks about the Spirit leading and guiding us. Keep a sincere heart toward God and pray and I believe that God will continue to reveal himself to you! With that being said.... I am a Oneness Pentecostal, but was not raised in church. I have studied scripture (like it commands in 2 Timothy) and I see the Trinity NOWHERE in the Bible. I am a student of the Bible just like you and im seeking the truth. May I ask you, if the 3 persons of the Godhead are co-equal, why would one person need to pray to the other??? And why would one person have a different will than the other??? It seems to me that the only explanation is that it was the fleshly will and nature of the Jesus needing to pray to the Spirit. ( Gal 5:17 says that flesh and spirit are contrary to each other) Jesus had to pray and fast to keep his flesh in subjection to the Spirit. I do realize EVERYTHING MUST be backed by scripture, but from scripture I can read that when Peter got the revelation of who Jesus was, it was not men who gave him that revelation but God himself (Matthew 16). No one can reveal to you who Jesus is, only God himself. The other problem that I have with the Trinitarian doctrine is baptism. Water baptism in the name of Jesus is the ONLY way they baptized in the Bible. I see no place where they baptized in the titles Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. In Matthew 28:19, Jesus commanded to be baptized IN THE NAME of the Father, Son, and Holy Ghost. The words father, son, or Holy Ghost are not names. And the Bible speaks of only one name whereby we are saved (Acts 4:12). Acts 2:38 tells us to be baptized in the name of Jesus, which does not contradict the scripture in Matthew. Acts 8:16, 10:48, and 19:5 are all examples of Baptism in Jesus name. Just a few issues with the Trinitarian doctrine that maybe you could clear up for me. Thanks for being so polite and open to discuss things.

Seraphimpoet one thing that we got to understand is that we can not measured that the divineness of God. As he manifested himself in the flesh and became Jesus God himself he can also manifests himself as the Holy Spirit. When Jesus Resurrected the apostles were sad because he was leaving and they were not going to see him again but he told them that he will not leave them orphans for he would pray to the father to send them that advocate (helper) which is the Holy Spirit. We cannot see him nor the world. You see he will always be the father in Heaven he manifested himself in the flesh as Jesus now to this very day he is still Among Us as the Holy Spirit but we cannot see him because now he is among us as the Holy Spirit. Read the book of John chapter 14:15-21 and you will find you the answer there. God bless

The relationship between God the Father and Jesus Christ is established clearly in the New Testament. The Savior himself acknowledged that he had a "Father" and a "God" in John 20:17 when the risen Christ tells Mary Magdalene, "I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God." The Apostle Paul confirms the father-son relationship between God and Jesus in 2 Corinthians 1:3 when he writes, "Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." How could Jesus, if he were God, be his own Father and God? The Apostle Paul speaks of God and Jesus as distinct, separate beings. Paul wrote to the congregation in Corinth, "For us there is one God, the Father,...and there is one Lord, Jesus Christ." (1 Corinthians 8:6) Paul further clarifies this in his letter to Timothy when he mentions "God, and of Christ Jesus, and the elect angels." (1 Timothy 5:21) Just as the angels are different from Jesus, so is Jesus from God. A powerful testimony of the distinct personages of God and of His Son is the vision of the deacon Stephen as recorded in the Acts of the Apostles. As he was calling out the religious leaders for resisting the Holy Ghost, he had the following vision: "But he (Stephen), being full of the Holy Ghost, looked up steadfastly into heaven, and saw the glory of God, and Jesus standing on the right hand of God, And said, Behold, I see the heavens opened, and the Son of man standing on the right hand of God." (Acts 7:55-56) Here we have the account that unambiguously records what Stephen saw. Two persons, God and Jesus, and where does Jesus stand? At the right hand of God. He's clearly in an inferior position to the Father. How can Jesus be both the Father and the Son when Stephen sees two persons? Heavenly Father is superior at all times. When Jesus was baptized, God's voice came from heaven and said, "This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased." (Matthew 3:17) If Heavenly Father did not say this, then who did? That would be one heck of a ventriloquist act if Jesus said this of himself. If Jesus were God, why not make the announcement himself as he came up out of the River Jordan? Jesus indicated his Father's superiority when he said, "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel..." (Luke 4:18). From my understanding, anointing is the delegation of authority or a commission by a superior to someone who does not already have authority. The account in the fourth chapter of Luke clearly shows that God the Father is plainly superior, for He anointed Jesus, giving him authority that he did not previously have. The Savior's own prayers are a powerful example of his inferior position to the Father. When teaching his disciples the proper way to pray, Jesus did not say, "Pray to me." No, instead he taught, "After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven..." (Matthew 6:9) If he were deserving of the prayers of the faithful, would he not have said, "Pray to me directly?" He acknowledged the authority of his Father and encouraged his disciples to ask the Father for things in his (Jesus') name. When in the Garden of Gethsemane, just before his arrest and crucifixion, Jesus prayed, "Father, if thou be willing, remove this cup from me: nevertheless not my will, but thine, be done." (Luke 22:42) If Jesus were God, then to whom was he praying? Was he praying to himsef? No, he was following the very model of prayer that he taught the disicples on the Sermon on the Mount. He was praying to his Heavenly Father. If he were God, he would not have to ask for another to "remove this cup" or the horrible ordeal he was about to undergo. Again, he defers to his Father, one having greater power, by saying that what he wants to do is not on par with what his Father wants. The Lord Jesus Christ indicated his limited knowledge of certain things when speaking to his disciples regarding his return (a.k.a. the Second Coming). He said, "But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father." (Mark 13:32). If Jesus is God, then why would he not know this? Why would he distinctly say that only the Father knows and others (angels and the Son) do not? On a side note, if Jesus were the equal of God, as the trinity teaches, then why would he not know this? Both the concepts of oneness and the trinity are unable to withstand this example. The Apostle John writes in Revelation 1:1, "The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him." Who had/has superior knowledge? God the Father or His Son Jesus Christ? If Jesus is God as you teach, wouldn't he have already have known the revelation and not have it given to him by someone else? Finally, I will the use the words of the Lord Jesus Christ himself when he says, "...I go unto the Father; for my Father is greater than I." (John 14:28) With that, the concept of Jesus being God Almighty cannot stand. The words of God uttered at the baptism of Jesus, the words of the Apostles and Jesus Christ, and the experience of Stephen declare that God the Father alone is worthy of our prayers and adoration in the holy name of Jesus Christ. Yes, Jesus is divine and holds a special place in the Godhead with his Father and the Holy Ghost, but even he takes the Father's direction. God and His Son are two persons, separate and distinct; not one person with multiple names or callings or roles. I firmly believe the scriptures clearly show that there are two corporeal personages (God the Father and Jesus Christ) and a personage of spirit (the Holy Ghost); three divine beings unified in purpose to bring to pass the immortality and eternal life of man, however the Holy Ghost is subservient to the Son and the Son subservient to the Father.

I know it's been a long time since you posted, but I am going to comment anyway :). Much respect for tackling this difficult topic and upholding the Oneness of Our Lord. There are a couple of things that need to be clarified here. 1. The Bible wasn't written in English. English wasn't invented yet. So, we cannot be very specific with using English grammar to prove a theological point. Here is an example of that becomes problematic. "That their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and unto all riches of the full assurance of understanding, to the acknowledgement of the mystery of God, and of the Father, and of Christ;" So, here in Colossians 2:2, judging by Englis grammar, there is now an additional member of the Godhead since the Father and G-D are separate. The Bible was translated to the KJV 1600 years later, (I won't even get into the new translations like NIV that actually removes verses) and it was translated from the Latin Vulgate, which was translated from Greek, which was translated from the Aramaic (what Jesus/Yehosua actually spoke). Translate something three times and add in 2000 years of cultural/linguistic variance and you have a problem. For instance, John (Yochannan) 10:30 says V'Ani V'H'Ab Echad. This is translated (literally) The connection, I, the connection of fathering, the only. Because Ab is not only translated as "father" but fathering or originating etc. In the garden, we have another English grammar problem. If this is Jesus praying to the Father, why does He refer to "the son" in the third person? "These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee:2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him." John 17:1-2. So what's goin' on?!!! Let's look at a piece of that in Hebrew. " And lifted His eyes to the high places and said, I the originator... Yisa einenio lmarom vyomer avi This is Yehoshua in His final hours before the cross addressing the ancient high places in Israel. Going through the chapter starting from there will give you a more thorough understanding. This is not a prayer, this is a final address. Even the word translated as pray is more specifically to intervene or to interceed. So, Yehoshua is intervening for His people in His final hours before He goes to the cross to win victory.

I like your presentation manner. Primarily for your sarcasm!😃😂. Many Bible writers and characters (Jesus, Paul, Isaiah, and more) presented messages with sarcasm. Unfortunately, their sarcasm is seldom recognized by any Christians of today's Christianity.

Paul says it best. ..great is the mystery of Godliness. ..GOD was manifested in flesh. .1Timothy 3:16....God came in the flesh and manifested himself as the Son of God. . And the Son of man. ..but he never ceased to be who he IS. ..HE came to fulfill the truth ...in the Old testament the blood of bulls and other animals were used to recieve temporary forgiveness of sins. . But Jesus Our LORD and Savior with his sacrifice has shown us the way to true salvation. ..Acts 4:12...but not every one will get this revelation even if it hits them in the face. ...Acts 2:38. Tells us what we must do to be saved. ...Want something really strong? ..pay attention please in chapter 10 of Acts read carefully the testimony of Cornelious. .how an Angel of God ordered him to send for Peter the same apostol who preached Acts 2:38.. want more? Ok. .Peter was fasting and The Holly Spirit also told Peter to go to Cornelious house and the end result was Cornelious and his house received the baptism of the Holly Ghost and were(((((((( Baptized ))))) in no other than the Name of JESUS. .I have one question for Trinitarians...you say Jesus is GOD, you pray in his name for every thing but why can't you obey Acts 2:38..? Simply because YOU don't get it or YOU are not ment to understand it because those of us who know and understand this Apostolic Doctrine we won't be moved by any other doctrine even if they raised the dead. ..there only ONE LORD, ONE Faith, And ONE baptism. ..Ephesians 4:5...Isaiah 8:20.......Romans 9:5......1John 5:20...Jude 25..may God give YOU wisdom to discern and understand the real APOSTOLIC doctrine. ..amen

Interesting you point out John 1:1-2 where it says the “Word WAS God” while overlooking “the Word was WITH God.” Explain that one. Also, take a look at John 17:5 “And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was.” Again, Jesus was praying to His Father and says that He (Jesus, the Word) was with God and had glory WITH God BEFORE the world began. Explain that as well. I don’t think you can with your reasoning. Nor can you refute the pre-existence of the Son before He became flesh. Also, “one” is a compound unity. The same as the church is one but many members. The same as a husband and wife becoming one flesh.

Good morning I respect my apostolic brothers and sisters I'm a born again Christian as a Christian we have to realize we will not understand how Jesus is God all I know is Jesus quoted every knee will bow every tongue shall confess that Jesus is Lord. Emmanuel does mean God with us it does mean that Jesus is still God in the flesh they are many scriptures that prove Jesus is God. I believe in God the father God the son and God the Holy Spirit its the Godhead Jesus was God in heaven and God on earth most apostolics dont want to believe this because their naturally minded the bible says the natural man will not understand the spiritual things of God you have to be spiritually minded the bible says we worship God in Spirit and in truth so the truth is Jesus said he was God if Apostolics don't believe this it's because there like the Pharisees why do you think Jesus was crucified the main reason was Jesus claimed to be God and the Pharisees said this man is Blasphemous there the ones that crucified him because they didn't believe they chose barabsas over Jesus. They lack belief in the Godhead all things are possible with God I believe in a monotheistic God even though Jesus prayed to the father that doesn't mean he wasn't God the whole time he was teaching everyone how to pray we must understand Context. CONTEXT ! very important Jesus is not God the father but he's God. God manifested his spirit in Jesus there all equal. It's shows unity and the Power of God

There's one God but the Bible makes a distinction of three different persons. Father, Son and Holy Spirit. Just leave the scriptures as it is.
