Dude, the little details you thought of and the solutions you came up with tells me you're a genius, and that this isn't your first rodeo. I would have never thought that this could be something easy and you made it look so simple and clean.
Are you able to do a video on the quality of these mods after a couple months of using them so we see if there are any problems with them after using it for some time?
Kudos! Very well spoken, and explained thoroughly (with crazy attn. to every detail/aspect), this makes for super easy comprehension. You should be the guy who makes videos for the: "........ For Dummies" series LOL! 👍
Thanks bro , anyways Canadian Tire will Install it I have appointment on Monday they said it takes Couple of hours probably I will spend around 200 to 300 plus tax Ambient lighting amazing
For cool gimmicks like these, there's often few videos on it, and whatever is there is low quality videos. Thank you for making a high quality video on this; it's a hard find.
Thanks for the video!! I have got a similar kit from Aliexpress and I have been trying to understand how to install it. Your video is by far the best and clearest to me!!
After riding in my 2020 GLE350 loaner that has mood lighting, I really wanna do this mod to my W204 now. This video has been great and I appreciate how you went over the different components and how they function before migrating to the install. I'm thinking about also adding the 10.25" Samsung screen to my vehicle too. I wonder if users could install the color change app on that device to update colors???
Good work @Flexx - is there a 12V ignition only power source on the door card? I am leaning towards tapping into the interior door handle illumination. Thanks //
This is a lot of work that as a car novice I would not feel comfortable doing. I would like to install a lighting system, but I would also be willing to pay for it be done. Any suggestions on where? Dallas, TX.
Hey quick question! I just installed a kit I bought like this and I saw your review on how the fibers had cracks and imperfections and I’m dealing with the same thing. Is this kit a better option compared to that one? Just wanted to know and be sure before purchasing. Thanks!
No way to get lost very well explained.. flexx since you car doesn't have mirror puddle lights, why you dont get an aftermarket puddle lights for your car. Having the dynamic turn signals along with the puddle light your car would be looking awsome.. I hope you consider that... any other than that very good video..
Just lazy to do it. It would look dope. Not too long until the C250 is for sale though...need a new project car. Going to announce it in my upcoming Q&A video.
Ddid this to my corolla, and people always are amazed at how good it looks inside. Added pillow leather seats too. Added an elegant wood wrap to certain parts as well. People just can't believe it's a corolla LOL!!! A little bit of smarts, can go a long way. For around 1k I made my car look, and feel allot like something that costs10-15 x its price.
As much as i want this on my c350 i feel like I’ll mess it up lol. Btw how did u specifically sandpaper ur paddle extenders? As much as i scrub it still scrapes it
Since this is linked to Bluetooth, can you be connected to your car Bluetooth and the lights Bluetooth at the same time? Or would you have to use an aux cable for music and connect the lights to your Bluetooth
Pretty dope I'm gonna do this in my 97 s500 it's mint but I've been trying to modernize the interior this gives it that new Mercedes s class feel good video too step by step everything I needed to know was clearly explained made me sub
I want to know how they’re going for you know later on and whether they’re still working. I went out, bought their kit and installed it professionally and all the wireless boxes failed one by one a month later. They eventually sent out new boxes and now they’ve all failed as well! I feel like our recommendations are extremely contrary
I like the wireless ability BUT the light looks like it gets dimmer the farther it is from the light source, which is the same eBay poor quality that I had bought.
Hey how bright is the fiber optics light? Some of the stuff on Amazon and eBay are just not bright and since this item cost almost double. I’m assuming qualities are better?
I don’t think they sell this kit anymore. They came out with a better version. It’s in this video. ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-a37y6Itl1bs.html
it works for passat cc 2011, What was the brand of the product with the best quality? thanks for sharing the information also do you have Someone recommended that you install in the city of Mexico.
Do you know how to change the radio back lighting color? My car has the ugly orange color for the numbers, ac controls etc. Is there a way to change it to white.
I know the huge improvement of these things would be the trim to be colored. so it looks nice during the day too. not this clear stuff. I don't know about fiber optic but I think some EL stuff comes colored.
How good is the clear optic tube? Iv tried a few and they have been well crap, as this is a lot more expensive then all of them, am I to assume superior quality (honestly it doesn’t look it from ur video)
Great vid but dodgy wiring it's easier and safer to use a fuse connector to splice into the fuse wite at the fuse box, safe and clean and no manual splicing.
I bet your a little jealous you dont have them in your car haha. Nice vid bro, next time can you pls show a close up of how the optical lines sit in creases. Thanks!!
Hey Flexx, Can you give your honest opinion: The fibre cable looks too visible day time specifically around the door area. During night time it looks good but day time from your video makes me hesitant (especially if you'll apply to your AMG W204). Please advise with your honest opinion as i dont want to ruin the car's genuine look before i order from DMP. Regards
It is visible during the day. It’s clear but still visible. It’s not gonna be as good as the kit for the w205 since that one is almost like OEM. This one in the video is universal and it’s the best you can get for a w204. If you are good, you can probably push just the fiber optic tune into the joint (without the protective sheath) and just have it glow. It’s tricky to do though. Too deep, you can’t see the glow. Not deep enough, you’ll see the optic tube.
You probably can. The design of the facelift c-class w204 just doesn’t have a lot of spots to hide where the tube starts before getting pressed into joints in the dash.
Flexx Alexander what’s up man. I just came across your channel today. Dope content! I am doing research on this product and have come across the one you purchased from dmp as well as some less expensive options for the same kit. The only thing is that In all of the kits that I’ve come across as well as the one you bought, it doesn’t appear that the 4 foot lights are in the kit. Any advice? Or is there another part I need to purchase?
Looks lime the back seat foot wells led's can esily be kicked off. A clean install with extra hours should get you a high quality finnish. I was thinking of a night kit for my GL450. I'll check out that company. Thanks
I would say yes. But you better be careful you don’t screw up and bend a part of the tube too hard or else you won’t be able to use it. Yes, this optic tube is better than the crap eBay one...but it still can crack if you make like a hard right angle or bend the tube back and forth.
flexx did you use the dust cover on your depo projectors or leave them off when installing the led bulbs. im ordering the headlights today from usr using code flexx (thanks for the discount) and not sure if the led will get to hot if you leave the cover on
any updates? The improvements I've seen is trim that is much smaller and looks cleaner. it's more flexible. but why can't you soften it up with a heat gun or hair dryer?? You can't not run it where you want because of that. And this is fiber optic? If so if fiber optic stuff gets hot right? And what if it's effect on your battery?
How much do you think a professional charges to do this? $200? $500? I have a 2018 mazda 6 but this seems like a lot of work haha, it would look so dope with this though. I can do without the foot lights
The product from the link in your description is not the same as the one you are presenting on the video . On the website you will get 4x foot light led, 6x light emitting boxes for doors 6m optic tube . No controller and no wireless conection. Any advise before i should purchase ? Thanks
Hi wanted to see what you think of the quality of the light fibres ? Reason I ask is that I have purchased products like these before and the light source gave out after sometime. Any help is appreciated
Flexx, brilliant as always. Excellent stuff. Glad it's installed! Could you not possibly run an optic tube across the passenger side dash to make it flush from one side to another? Apologies if you mentioned it in your video. God bless. :)
You could run it anyway you want. I tried but with the design of the facelift C-class dash...it's hard to hide the beginning section of the optic tube before it get's pressed into a joint. Plus my wife didn't want too much light distracting her while driving.
Can you get it with just the light pods instead of the light tube? I have a 2012 Ford Taurus and I tried to recreate the OEM ambient lighting but it didn't come out like I had wanted. I plan to do all 4 doors but I want it to come on with the parking lights or headlights.
