I have only been subbed for a few months, and I love all your stories. This one struck a chord in me though. When I was listening to the part where the girl heard a rider approaching and you said the name of the man, I first thought I heard wrong. So I went back and listened again and sure enough you said Mosley Riddle. My father’s family is/was spread out from Arkansas to Tennessee down into Texas. I have done some family research in the past and I have never come across a Mosley, but we do have a Moses Riddle. I was born and raised in Oregon, but my heart has always pulled me to that part of the country, especially the Appalachians. Maybe I lived there in a past life (if you believe in that sort of thing, which I do).

I've never lived through a murder in my family and for those who have may God grant you peace. My two sisters and I lived with hatred in our hearts with a father that left us I was 3 mouth's old never to be seen again and a mother that did the same our Pop raised us, forgiveness didn't come till I was 29 and gave my life to Christ and standing over my mother's death bed I forgave her, not long after she passed. Sometimes people can commit murder of the heart and like murder of the body forgiveness doesn't come easy. Thanks for sharing, you truly have a wonderful talent of sharing stories and history of the Appalachian mountain people.

It is hard to forgive when others intentionally hurt you. There are several scriptures in the Bible that tell us to forgive, seventy times seven and etc. I’m sure if your reading the Bible you’d know where they are. It’s early morning and drinking my coffee in the dark while listening to this story. I try to be quite while my sister is sleeping since I’m the early bird in my family.
