I loved your statement, “I love it here it’s my home nothing fancy but it’s all I need. And I’m thank god every day for it.” That’s me about my 110 year old house I live in. It’s been in my family since 1967 and it’s in need of several repairs. But the roof is in good repair and it’s dry inside. That’s all I need. I don’t want a big house. The bigger it is, the more there is to keep clean. 😊😊

Any historical story teller, in order to captivate the audience and bring the story to life that person Must have your voice, JD. No other will do. I have heard others try to read or tell a story and sadly they are nothing less than totally boring and soon folks are turning a 'deaf' ear to the voice. You have NO competition! 😄

Pistol Pete was married to Georgia Mae Bingham. Folks called her “Mrs. Pete”, and she often worked at the jail. I don’t know if she ever actually served as sheriff or not. Later their son, Cecil Byrge became sheriff of Morgan County. I was quite young, so it was probably early 70’s.

I always look forward to these stories and for some reason though I live in Australia, I feel like I'm somehow apart of them. Maybe it was another life from another time? Anyhow it's a great channel and I wouldn't miss it for quids.

This was a really interesting and good story and it really happened. To this day this still goes on between 2 different families. What's really sad is alot of the time a family will fight amongst itself. I would absolutely love to win this book. I would read it then I would let my baby brother read it. I think he would enjoy it so much. He's going to be 55 on January the 15th. I would give it to him for his birthday, so I would have to read it pretty fast if I won it and it got here on time. But I would still give it to him for a late B/D present. We lost our other brother last August. I think this would really lift my baby brothers spirits up. Don't ever stop telling these great true story. This is so much a part of our history. I'm 64 and I can really relate alot to these stories. We are from NE Oklahoma, we live about 30 miles from Talequah, Oklahoma. Cherokee Nation's head quarters. ❤

Hi JD! Wow, that’s a piece of history you just don’t hear about. Back in those days they had their own justice. Just because towns had a sheriff, they took it upon themselves to serve justice in their own way. Keep telling these fascinating stories from the past. Have a blessed weekend!
