The public apology is very commendable as he could’ve just slunk away.. Volunteering to clean some graffiti at some point would show true accountability.✌️

Seems like the right thing for that father and daughter would be for them to go clean up their graffiti. Restitution using your own blood, sweat and tears would be the best lesson for the daughter and a good role model for the dad to impress upon his daughter.

Forgiveness does not eliminate consequences. It was a good move to make the public apology, but some clean up money or labor would be appropriate.

I'm sorry Sadie hasn't been found yet 😢 Maybe some other hiker has picked her up and has taken her with them, like what happened last year. I watched that hiker, just when she found the dog, and was so disappointed in what she did, by keeping the dog away from its family. I hope Sadie gets back to Bright Eyes soon 🙏

Hope your surgery goes well and you have a super quick recovery! I think it's amazing the father made a public apology. That takes a lot of guts to admit that. It would be nice if he made a few donations to some of the trail clubs along the way to, in a way, pay for the cleanup they'll have to do. But overall, it's good to see this man take responsibility and stop doing it. There are a lot of people out there who wouldn't care and would continue to do it. So props to this guy for manning up.

I chose not to do the four state challenge because I would be rushing Maryland. I prefer to just enjoy the miles and do a little every day. Also, I tried LMNT for the first time when I got some at trail magic!! Quite good! Might need to order some myself with this heat ramping up.

Sorry to hear the bluebird got off the trail. I've been following her videos and they were a little behind. I wish hwr the best and tgat she heals up. Stick the eagle is doing awesome, which I'm not surprised. He's my favorite RU-vidr so far.

I think you're right on point re the Bacon issue. Kudos to him for having the humility to reflect on his actions and to apologize publicly. It's very hard for any/all of us to admit we've made a decision that caused others harm. And as you say, the graffiti is still there and someone will have to clean it up. But at least there won't be more of it.

Just had 5 nobos in Dalton Ma over the last 3 days, then went to the Legend Tom Levardi’s house to look at pictures and logbooks on the 35 plus years of hikers who have stayed at his house!!!😊 Bacon Wrap ( remember meeting you at Toms as you were leaving)

If you see Duncannon Assembly God Pastor Campbell, take a minute, he has a true heart for the community. Meatball Muchacho is back in limited form, 400 miles 2 years ago and broke his femur the next he took a siesta So needs to get his hiking legs back The picture was me and Possum Princess on the Swatara State Park Waterville Bridge. Her first "steps" on the AT Beautiful park if you are not buzzing though Hope to see you down the trail of the Northern Pa/NJ line The rocks do not get better only bigger from here Woodbooger

I agree, restitution or have them clean up their mess. I can guarantee any graffiti on the Sam Moore Shelter privy won't last long as I paint over any time every time I check my trail section. I really wish people would realize graffiti is just making work for others. Put your name in the shelter log book instead.

I agree he needs to get it clean up BUT not knowing him he might not have the money to pay for it. When we camp I always make sure yo leave a place cleaner then before we get there.

This past saturday through monday i waa doing trail.magic from marion,bear den hostel offvrt 42,poor vallwy trail head off rt 625 area on up to burke garden trail head off rt 623 and up to i77 off rt 52. I gave some trail magic to about 33 thru hikers heading nobo.

Up on chestnut ridge by burkes garden i hung out Sunday night with Jeremy Baugh,splinter,tumble and lynx. When i started driving down the road on Monday morning less then half mike back down rt623 burkea garden rd a small bear came crashing off side of hill infront of my truck. Do be aware that bears are on thar chestnut Ridgeline by burkes garden,va. It waa a decent size yearling or 2 year old bear maybe 125 to 140 lbs in size.

Realize this ... a court mandated apology is not heartfelt. He was fined and sentenced to community service. He is only sorry he was caught.

Monarch the ridge runner told him early on that what he was doing was wrong and illegal, and he kept on doing it for hundreds of miles until he was physically caught. He is not sorry about his actions, just sorry he was caught, imo.

Last year, when Stella hikes took the dog loose on the trail, as her own…. I was against that. Instead of getting off trail right there where she found it, turning it over… she hiked it through state lines. Ultimately, it was slowing her down. It was given to some people who lived on a farm, far away from where it was found. Then, it was sone under the pretense that it was a hunting dog. Well, there’s no proof of that, even if it were… it belonged to someone . Point is- it’s good to get the information out about ANY stray dog on trail, for any reason, should be helped to find a way to get to folks in that home base area where found. Don’t keep bringing the dog for your forever dog, then ultimately turn it in when it slows you down. This is a neutral comment, a year later. I wasn’t so neutral at the time, for this type of reason. These dogs belong to someone! I enjoy your videos
