You have a good attitude and if you can see the gnarly Whites as fun (which they are) you're going to do just fine. Party on!!

Four months of hiking and already at the Whites! Really nice views on top of Mousilauke, and the hostel was very nice. Thanks for all the work it takes to put these videos up for us. I remember VHS and Beta. Had VHS, but not Beta either. Hike on!

When you get to Washington, ask them about the 100 MPH Club. This was probably TS Beryl.

I think those mountains you see to the immediate northeast is the Franconia Ridge!

From Grandma Gatewood's walk: "The Highlands of New Hampshire have a bleak ruggedness that commands the respect of the hardest mountaineer," wrote Earl Shaffer, in Walking with Spring, his book about his inaugural thru- hike in 1948. "Some of the worst weather on earth occurs here with winds of more than gale velocity and temperatures of polar intensity. Freezing weather is possible in mid-summer and a snow storm can follow hot weather within an hour....the results can be overwhelming."
