So glad to wake up to a new video. Jet lagged so I have been waking up at 4 am pacific time and now have something to keep me entertained for the next ten days. Vancouver is cold compared to eastern Canada!!
What a joy to see a new video posted!!!!! You made it over that double stacked fallen trees!!!!!!! I know some things were not fun about the day, but you did it!!!!!!!!! Just keep walking and talking. If I were to go hiking, I would definitely hike with a buddy. Two just seems more engaging. Thanks for being real and honest.

I think the reason why my hubby and I really like and follow you guys is your resilience and adventurous spirits. Even when you were having such difficult time on the boat you didn’t give up and you and Will are great role models to your kids ❤

to up your protein for breakfast try this: find some semi-ground buckwheat to mix with dried potatoes, add dehydrated onions and garlic or powder of both, add boiling water, let sit 5 min - voilà, it becomes your hikers kasha! Great to stabilize blood sugar. Can add anything you have with you: like dried fruit, crushed nuts, freeze-dried strawberries, dried coconut...endless ideas. Can also order dried packets of freeze dried chicken and dried veggies. Also is organic crushed dried black and/or pinto beans - are lots of light weight healthy food stuffs - dried tomatoes and spices to improve taste.
I am so glad to find you and Captain again on the trail. I was thinking I would see Will the next segment or two? Hiked 9 mi last Friday with only 600 gain but my feet were hurting at the end. Love you sunshine, love you captain, Nan

Question? I’ve always heard that when backpacking in bear country you should cook, eat, and clean up 100 yards from where your tent is pitched. Also store your food 100 yards from both. Do you follow that rule?
you should. We never eat in our tent, but we are not 100 yards. We never sleep with any food, ever! But a lot of people on the trail do and it is scary.
I don’t really like the ups, because they are exhausting. But I’m not too big of a fan of the downs if they are steep, because it’s more of a challenge to not fall…
Sunshine, you and Captain are doing GREAT! I will be celebrating with you when you hit a 30 mile day and I am SURE that is going to happen soon! I just had to pause the video, because we are now under a tornado watch, and I was needing to get whole milk for my toddler, today. So I wanted to haul butt to the nearby store to get it, so I didn’t have to risk the weather interfering, or something happening while I was at the store. My eldest is 14, and is very responsible and dependable, but I would hate for a tornado warning to hit without me here to be in charge of getting them safely into the basement…. Pennsylvania has been getting more active in recent years with tornadoes! All though, I have to admit that I actually want to see one in real life, as long as it’s not headed directly for my house….😇
@@WorldTowning we lucked out. It pushed to the east of us, and the tornado watch seems to have been canceled. East Pennsylvania has some severe weather, now, though… I think that it’s Dauphin County that now has a tornado warning….??? But, where I am at in Johnstown is now safe from the storms.
