Hi dear, due to yeast batter will ferment by 4-5 hours.. Also depend on the weather... If weather is cold then may take 6 hours... If the weather is cold at your end.then you keep the batter to ferment for 7 hours.. If hot/humidity and still prefer to keep it overnight then reduce the yeast.. Thank you❤️👍

Hi Jenny, you mean Toddy (sur).. Mostly Toddy is used for Sanna, not for Appam. Also you can substitute coconut with coconut milk. Grind with coconut milk. If you have more clarification, pls revert🙏 thank you for your support 🙏❤️
Hi Rosy, You can take rice flour.. Coz I have never done with boiled rice. If you are taking rice flour.. First grind coconut and other ingredients.. Then take some lukewarm water and dilute the flour on liquid form. Thank you 🙏❤️
Hi Leena, you can add baking soda or Eno (fruitsalt). But no need to keep for fermentation ..Immediately you will have to make Appam. . But traditionally yeast is the best method...thank you for watching. 😘
Hi Lydia, appam is instant recipe.. Only using urad daal will take more time to ferment. ..leftover rice and fenugreek seeds will fasten the fermentation process.❤🙏
Hi Smeeta, take 1/4 cup of lukewarm water, add 2 tsp sugar and 1 tsp of yeast.. Let it set for 10 minutes, then add the same into batter. Dont forget to whisk the batter.. Batter can be refrigerated but its only for one day. Later, it will turn into sour. Thank you.
