Dude the company itself is somehow stealing money from drivers by hiding surge. For example saturday morning there was a massive surge around Korea town Los Angeles and I noticed when I requested a ride to the airport which was $96 😮 so went online in my driver app and and there we absolutely zero surge; not even a $1. Every airport ride received in the app was between 18 and $32 dollars 😡…. This M F&@$& need to be sued big time bro 👎
You won't even see the surge even if you are passing by through the area but riders ends up getting screwed big time and we end up getting no tips in the process apart from idiotic low pay!
I'm all in ... I picked up another driver and he was telling me about this app and how he makes thousands he even showed me the amount of money that he was making, it was thousands.I truly believe something that is going on. When you go to LAX you sit waiting a long time for one ride and its only $13 or even less than that. Something is definitely going on.
There have been countless times where everywhere is surging, I’ll be sitting literally in a $15-20 spot on the map directly on the numbers, and nothing comes up. I’m tired of the tricks and scams.
The thing about this platform is that you don't HAVE to accept shit fares. I don't know why drivers take them. If we could get all drivers in solidarity to ignore them they would disappear. The way the Uber app works, we don't even have to strike. Please, EVERYBODY, just stop accepting the crappy fares. Learn to calculate mileage vs time quickly when you get a ping,
You can’t stop newbies and old people with nothing else to do from doing this!! They aren’t educated enough on the game to know any better!!!! As long as they can hire a new driver this will always be an issue!!!
I gave a ride past Saturday and after I was finished, they lowered the price and took my surge pay away and never told me, I noticed it later in the day
It's more than that. It's bigger than that. There is hacking at LAX, maybe across the board. Plus, yes, the apps charge such high prices, which kills business, just so they can maximize the 50% of the fares that they are now taking. Multiple issues going on. Not taking crap fares is the right thing to do, but even if drivers did that, it would only put a dent in all the overall issues.
I just quiet driving for Lyft today after 3 weeks since I was making Lyft rich and me poorer. Example today when I returned the Lyft rental car they are wanting to charge me $50 for the daily rental and said I will get my deposit in about 2 weeks. I was mainly making between $2.88 - /7.99 per local ride unless it was an Airport ride then was offered a ride for about 25 miles $13 - $18 so why drive for Lyft especially when the Lyft rental car weekly cost $335.
Important: If they stop the rematch everything back to normal The rematch is the hall is only way to hack the system am tired they don’t listen because they don’t care about drivers i made lots of videos explaining and trying to wake everyone up
Why isn’t this group presenting this to the FBI because it kind of seems like a bigger issue than an app from a Chinese base company there’s more in this rabbit hole that needs to be dug out and find the moles that are being employed by Uber and Lyft that’s what I think. I think it goes back to the corporations they don’t care it’s all money to them to question is if people that work for these companies are involved in something like this with these Chinese based apps
All I'm getting are 3$ with stops! I wonder if this is connected to Bot Scraping? I was complaining to a IT tech and he informed me it was happening and Bot Scraping is real.
they 100% do this at DFW and one guy leases tons of salvage Houston flood black black cars to people for $630 a week. we have been logging the license plates and watching the times in and out of the DFW lot. They dont like it one bit.
Yes - the same for doordash, uber, instacart etc. In Chicago Albanian gangs are doing the same... yes the app exists and someone approached me for $500
Accepted a trip (7 mi to pickup and 12 mi dropoff). When the rider got in and i clicked Start Ride - it was now a 19nmi drop off - never got paid the difference
Very interesting. Very anxious to learn more about this, because it leans more on making sense versus being a conspiracy theory in my opinion. That Driver was extremely distraught. I don’t think he’s an actor. I think he truly is at his wits end and wants other drivers to be informed.
In Orlando Airport, some drivers uber/lyft were waiting their turn at one spot away from assigned parking. One guy was constantly on phone and he was sending drivers one by one... same type of thing in Pittsburgh airport where some Uzbek guys are into it and drive very expensive cars... also in Dfw... we need to get to the bottom of this
It is real....they been doing this in NorthEast part of United States from Chicago, Detroit, Cleveland, New York, Pittsburgh. We use to sit for hours in the airport and undocumented people were taking passengers different places without being the person on the app. If they try to verify they come back to the airport to the dispatcher so he can verify the account. Lyft and Uber knows this is going on. There has been ex Customer Service Agents tell me, that they had to take alot of them off the platform because of this. This is maddening.
Ive seen Uber XL rides in Austin Texas pop up on the screen and be taken super fast like like right when the request pops up it taken almost instantly!
Last week I drove 29 miles and Uber paid me $21 and I decided to complain thru the Help section...to make it short they added $3 and Uber called it inconvenience fee.So I have a lot of inconvience fee these these past years cuase I didn't complain at all.
I'm glad you brought the sub because I got hit by a DD driver which is door Dash driver and I was talking to my attorney and he told me that all those they tend to be driving Priuses and he told me that doordash helps him get the vehicles so I think doordash is complicit in this and it's taking advantage of these drivers charging them absorbent fees this is directly from an attorney that I hired to make sure that I get my medical taken care of cuz it's kind of messed up my knees so I thought I'd throw this out there but I believe doors actually is complicit in all this who owns doordash
100% correct they will have to have all their ducks in a row and a mountain of evidence if they want to win that case. I am not even sure if they have a case. Some claim these groups work in syndicates all around the country.
How do we find out how much these companies take in on Prop 22 driver healthcare fee and how much they actually pay out. Most drivers should qualify for Medi-Cal or Covered CA or have insurance thru another employer. I believe the health care fund is a slush fund for them. I have never seen a dime of any healthcare fee applied to a ride I have given.
I was wondering, I was sent something from Uber saying that I could not, basically, sue them in a class action suit, that I would only do a suit through…I can’t remember what it’s called…some kind of arbitration. I thought every driver had to sign it before they could start driving? Sorry, I’m not very savvy when it comes to the law.
Can we get an update on this issue? This has been the biggest issue in loss of revenue for me this year. I’ve been a driver for 10 years and always see my revenue severely decline during these hack periods. Any updated info?
i can say this much not until recently i havent received any reserve trip requests so perhaps uber is identifying some bad faith actors. but i wouldnt put it past this collection of interesting characters to be mostly bad actors. ive seen the driver gangs at walmart and the airports
I don't know how you can have multiple accounts with Ubers background checks and qualifications, unless you are using multiple peoples identities to set up accounts.. And if they are doing that they should be punished to the maximum allowed by law. It always amazes me how people will do anything to find ways to take advantage illegally of any opportunity. Or come up with a scheme to milk other people out of their money. But at some point in time they will get caught and have to do the time. And pay something back.. And once again, if Uber is not detecting that there are some drivers making 4-5X what a normal driver makes and investigates then it shows you how stupid and inept they really are as well.
they drive 5 days of week and making 6500 a week,,,,,,,,😂😂😂 I pick them up on their days off usually Monday Tuesday 'xx always drunk,,,, they live pretty happy life😂😂😂
What if they look for another better job ? Stop complaining on a company that obviously don't give a rat about those independent drivers ! You swear they gonna loose money on order for you to be happy 😂😂😂
@AskTorsten Absolutely right. First it's Uber, then Lyft, then your grocery store, then your job at the plant. If you don't stand up to corruption and greed at every turn, you will soon have nothing to feed your family with and will be less than a man. Foolish ignorance like that last guy is what makes slaves out of men. Keep up the good fight Torsten!
WTH are you actually saying? What if WHO gets a better job? Professor is not complaining? Nor is he saying he’s going to be happy if they lose money…wtf?😂
Maybe you don’t know a lot of drivers are immigrants or ppl trying to make a living . Some people don’t have a choice like my driver from last week he told me this is the only job he could do cause of disability .
So many issues going on. I can speak on past issues where there was GPS manipulation. Then there were old apps that could circumvent LAX settings to allow for selecting the bigger fares. During both of these times we were being crushed. It's happening again now. When it happens this bad it is usually hacking. One day at LAX, in the TCP lot, a bunch of Armenian drivers blocked in a guy in a BMW without TCP numbers who was on his computer supposedly hacking the LAX system. That day, no rides were going through for any drivers. The police were called, they only gave the guy a ticket for being in the lot without TCP. They would not further investigate hacking, or probably didn't have resources to do so. As soon as the guy was kicked out the LAX queue started flowing again. Getting the bigger fares doesn't exist at LAX anymore. I believe there are groups / teams at work. The only times I have experienced such dramatic dips in income, even when the Apps are taking 50% has been during hacks. Unfortunately right now we are dealing with both. Working 80 hours and barely pulling off $400-500 after expenses. It's only been this bad during hacks. But there are so many different angles that could be investigated. 1. I see a lot of vehicles accessing the black/black suv rideshare platform without having TCP licensing. 2. I am certain there are employee insiders, either working for groups or getting paid off by groups to assist in nefarious acts. 3. I don't think it's out of the scope of the companies themselves to be arranging insider work forces. Possibly feeding an army of drivers the lions share of expensive rides, then taking a larger cut. 4. But ultimately I do think this is being done by organized groups. The problem is that the apps don't care about policing themselves because they get the money either way. 5. The other issue is that at this very critical juncture of hacking, the app companies are also suffocating us by taking 50%, which has grown dramatically from 20-25% over the years. But it went from around 35% to 50% almost over night this year. 6. Then there is the news media which reports he said / she said stories without actually looking at / evaluating the data. 7. A recent AP news story about the strike directly quoted Lyft as stating that they guarantee drivers receive 70% or more of fares. 8. Not only is that a flat out mistaken quote because they guarantee 70% "after external fees," but it is also a manipulation of the facts. 9. They add your tips into the calculation, which is not part of the fare to get to that 70% figure. And they certainly don't account for our external fees in their news media press release calculations.
