Thank you so much for giving my ROM hack a play! Yanma has been my mortal enemy in all my nuzlockes so felt in appropriate to make it a bit of a monster in this hahah, happy to see new people experience this amazing game through my mod
@@ianaldridge7136hard disagree, the movepools and available pokemon are so bad in colosseum it is unreal. At least the new games let you use a variety of Pokemon with actual movesets. Seriously what were they cooking giving half the Pokemon in this game refresh. It means every playthrough uses basically the exact same team.
Now we just need TPCi to realize we need a remake or remaster of both games! Due to Dogs in Love’s popularity. I grew with XD being my second Pokémon game that I beat, with PMD1 being the first. Diamond was the first mainline one I beat. It would’ve been Emerald, but I didn’t know how to strategize as well back when I was in my late childhood/early teens, so I could never get past the Elite Four.
@@KopaXTani Honestly, after they screwed with TTYD, I both want and don't want a remaster/remake of the games. I want it to actually get the recognition it deserves and get more spin-off games... but I don't want it ruined either.
You underestimate how deranged the challenge run community can be. Anything that exists can be amped up. If you want a rabbit hole to jump into, check out "Pokemon Run and Bun", the game that has literally everything documented down to every individual trainer mon's moveset, gives you infinite candies, and is still incredibly difficult to beat, let alone nuzlocke.
Can we talk about snag technology The snag machine lets you STEAL ANY POKEMON. Its not JUST shadow pokemon, its just that the protagonists never DO steal non shadows.
as a kid this game introduced me to the idea of saving every 10 seconds and restarting a lot because the shadow pokemon are gone forever if they are defeated in the battle instead of caught. And they would often be hard to catch so I quickly learned to save all the time so I could redo any battle if I messed up on the catch without losing much progress.
They actually aren't gone forever! They're just gone for the duration of the story - you can rebattle the trainers with them or find other trainers with the ones you missed in the post-game.
same, learning about the pokeball duplication glitch last year was the only saving grace to me having enough patience to complete the game for the first time
The way Wes is all stanced up with the constant billowing wind in his jacket will always be memorable Pokémon Colosseum looks cooler than most modern Pokémon just based on style. It’s like they’re sacrificing quality of the main series for the spin-off titles
Dogs in Love was a live stream series done by JelloApocalypse and his friends did for Colosseum and Gale of Darkness, that eventually got trimmed down to three fantastically hilarious and heartfelt videos. Highly recommend.
Every time I see this I can't believe it is an officially licensed Nintendo game for the Gamecube. Everything except the Pokemon just screams early PS2/late PS1 JRPG to me. Like if you just showed a picture of the humans and the environment and told me they were from a "Tales of" game or Final Fantasy spinoff I would believe you 100%.
This was my very first pokemon game I ever played. People used to bully me saying "it's not a real pokemon game" but now I look back and laugh as none of them got the chance to enjoy the insanity and tears that was this game
The fact we never got another one of these after the first two was a travesty. I was so disappointed when battle revolution was just a bargain bin Pokemon Stadium.
Honestly, if you have the ability to put rare candies in this game, do so. I played this for like 7 hours, got through mirror b, got the shrine that saves your Pokémon’s heart, and then I got stuck because I couldn’t grind without losing my entire team. The level jumps killed me and all my enjoyment for this game.
Insurgence mentioned! Loved that game. The story is batshit insane and overly edgy, but its charming. The pokemon are really cool and the fights get really hard
I never rlly got into pokemon romhacks until I had a phase where all I'd watch was romhack playthroughs and insurgence was the first one I saw, it's AWESOME, I've seen the pointcrow playthrough like 3 times now
I used to play video games with my dad, where he would read the dialog and stuff, and this was one of the last games I really needed him to do that for me, so this game is super nostalgic for me
I would truly have to say for as hard as Coliseum is, its not the 7 mon/7 battle boss rush that ends out XD. XG: The Next Gen takes it a step further with buffs, fairy typing, special split, and stat changes to reflect gen 7 at the time of its release. I would say XD/XG is infinitely harder and not even in an evil way, but I tried a nuzelocke of it last year and it took me 46 hours. Highly recommend. Best pokemon Gen 3 experience ever.
12:27 Tbh i like Gardevoir because its green has a dress Looks cute(In The Its a Animal way) And is fairy And its mega Blows up everythint with hyper voice
God I love this game, and we really need another shadow pokemon game giving how many generations are out now. Don't forget the infinite master ball trick Alpha.
I still have this game on the game cube. I remember renting it from blockbuster and being so sad when i had to return it. Then blockbuster had a closing sale and i BEGGED my parents to buy it for me.
Someone should get alpha rad to play Pokémon Reborn. Crazy hard, a bit edgy, very dark. A blind playthrough will run you nearly 100 hours just to beat main game. Probably another 50-100 for post game depending on how good you are in general and how you’ve adjusted to the game’s central mechanic. Terrains galore, over 30 of them to have to deal with.
Will you be doing XD as well? I know there's a difficulty hack for that one called XG that also adds some bells and whistles from more recent games. (Also, I'm just one of the few fans who finds XD better than Colo, especially when it came to story. You think it's nuts that Colo opened up with an explosion, XD opens with what's likely a double homicide when Shadow Lugia steals an entire shipping boat, and throws its two sailors overboard. They never get mentioned again.)
I would say that Pokemon XD, the sequel, might be abit harder than this game...Originaly, anyway.. And why isnt he using items to heal... Also, why dont they put these games on the Switch already?? Gamefreak knows they are VERY popular.
