Everyone is nervous for the first match… just remember you have two huge goals… to be the safest one there and being #1 at having fun… then nervousness becomes competitiveness. As far as your setup and based on what you said here… you can run Carry Optics for IDPA and USPSA. As far as recommendations… what else are you looking for a perspective on?
@@TheGentlemanGunner Thank you for the advice. I really want to work on my skills. Like you said the added pressure will help me be a better defender. I hunt 🦌🐗 in MS I love your content
Great video. Thanks for the info. Been wanting to get back to shooting competitively. Been 5 years since I stopped. Was dying to get into IDPA/USPSA but time never allowed for it
Very informative video!! I currently run a 4in pdp compact with a holoson EPS and with a tlr7a. I am using a AIWB holster from slimfit holster with a wing and a wedge. It works well. This my EDC and also my IDPA setup. I have contemplated running this set up but starting when a mag with an extension to start.
For your 5” model pistol holster option try the Tier 1 MSP holster. It works with a light (retention on a light like Surefire x300u) but fits any large pistol with that light attached.
Great video. I was wondering if you’d do a video on your AIWB draw? I’ve been competing with a 2011 from AIWB and the draw has been troubling me. BTW, I noticed some clips from the Arkansas State IDPA Championship from last year in Hot Springs. That was the match where I got my bump to Master in Carry Optics. As far as holsters, I prefer LAS CONCEALMENT. Check out their Shogun or Rampart, whether you want the sidecar or not.
I can certainly make a short in the near future… however I can point you to the guy I learned it from… you’ll have to dig through his content to find it… but it’s @myowndryfire I hope y’all have more matches this year! Razorback is where I got my bump to Master… so AR matches are always on my list of matches to shoot
Excellent video. I carry a 5” PDP with an SRO in a Tier 1 MSP holster an X-300. This allows me to have continuity when I also want to compete and that holster allows me to carry and compete with a few of my pistols including my CZ S2OR. Thanks for validating a very common and practical carry system for competition. 🙏🏻🤘
@@TheGentlemanGunner I’ve always liked the X300 lights and pretty much all the AIWB holsters are full size length for the light… figured might as well take advantage of a full size gun. Looking forward to more videos like this. Thanks for sharing your journey.
