It’s more about tracking than a deterrent. If you put any sort of theft deterrent on show, it’s makes it less effective. I have one on my motorcycle and it’s hidden in a part that’s impossible to get too, without cutting the bike into tiny pieces. It was only €29 so it’s cheaper to buy a new one each year, than to pay for an expensive tracking system and subscription

Honestly I dont understand how people manage to scratch their phones so much. I have had my Galaxy S20 for almost a full year now in like 20 days and I dont have a single scratch so HOW
i never used a case on my ip12pro and i usually just chuck it over wherever but i never even got scratches nor breaks on it. you're probably using your iphone as a washing board idk
@@larsg5290 The AirTag has a built in feature, where it will alert other phones in its area if they are exposed to the AirTag for an extended period of time. This even works with androids.
@@JorgePerez-zh8io Except with Tile, it relies on just other Tile devices to be located on the map. AirTags have the whole Apple FindMy network, which means that if there’s an iPhone, an iPad, an Apple Watch, a MacBook or anything else around, the AirTag will get pinged by them and appear on your map. Someone made an excellent video about how they operate in a very similar way, but while there might be one Tile product per block, there could be almost 50 Apple products per block, which means you’ll have a much easier time finding an AirTag than a Tile.
I have one on my dogs collar. Although when he got loose it still said he was in the house yet I found him a few streets over. So yeah it didn’t do it’s job

@@brot2878 It's called Tile. Not only is it a tracker, it is able to produce a loud sound like you would use to find your phone with find my device. There are 3 different styles. One is a sticker, like this, one can go on a keyring or a chain, and one is a card you can keep in your wallet.
The plastic is between battery and battery connectors when you remove the plastic it lets the battery touch the connector. No magic here. Like anything else that comes with a battery inside.

Pretty cool little device. Would be pretty good for putting in a backpack or purse so if you accidentally leave it somewhere, you know where it is. You could also put it in your wallet or something else you might misplace on occasion.
Why would you need this when there is already security software that allows you to track your device in real time,set off a loud alarm as well as lock & wipe your device remotely. Many of which are free like lookout security
This isn't for tracking your phone. Its for tracking other stuff like car keys, wallets, bags etc. For instance, you can put it in a keychain and then can track where your keys are.

@@TazyBaby I am guessing that they designed it as such so that you also have to buy their holders, but thankfully there are aftermarket ones too. And honestly the tags are much cheaper than any other tracker I know of especially when you realize that other gps trackers usually use a SIM card that need monthly data to operate
That's probably what I would do, I've lost both a cat and a dog from running away (windy day, hard to shut door, and both of them being curious led to it, they both ran away at the same time :(, but this is just the watered down version), so it would probably be very helpful for that
It your loose your shit a lot XD you can put it in your wallet, on your keys, luggage, there are even silicone cases so you can put it on your pet. It's a pretty useful invention
It’s needed if you misplace keys a lot. This on a key ring holder and Apple “find my” network-the ENTIRE NETWORK- working for this tiny object is a gem. Also good for pets and luggage and your car if you have teenagers who like to “borrowing “ your car

tl;dr: location doesn’t update often Just to let you know, I live in a not that densely populated area and I use my AirTag to track my cat when I let him out, but I only am able to rely on barking dogs and the chime to find him. The location only updates every 2 minutes in a very iPhone dense area and for me it updates every hour, and doesn’t change the location.
You pair it to the phone, like a Bluetooth speaker, and the phone can locate it anywhere it’s at. The phone sends you an alert immediately if it’s out of range, and the last location it was connected
I like the idea of this if you loose things easily but I also hate the idea of them after I saw someone finding one on their truck that was being used to stalk the truck so the person who put the air tag there would onow where the person is going
