@RobertH2703
@RobertH2703 2 года назад
Because that is what the phone reads back, what's under your finger.
@briannasusz
@briannasusz 2 года назад
she doesn’t “click” on anything specifically. Voice control on iPhone locks the screen and you only make generic gestures to click, swipe and scroll depending on what voice control is focused on. it finds text and buttons to read or click and does the important clicking for her when she hears what she wants and makes the proper gesture on the screen.
@debbydeedebbydoobap6358
@debbydeedebbydoobap6358 2 года назад
It's hard to explain but it's a fitur called accesibility. Each smartphone nowadays have it, but not activated so you need to set it up first. So practically you swipe until you "find" the right button you want to click, it automatically spell what button you're on. And the speed of that assistant can be adjusted. And then you double-click it

You can say a lot about apple, but they definitely do care about accessibility.
@DavidFrat123
@DavidFrat123 3 года назад
Sadly they just stole the idea from Samsung Tile. In fact, it's quite a big issue with how Apple discourages 3rd party companies from making equipment or apps for the iPhone. With their completion sidelined, they can charge whatever they want for their products.
@j2simpso
@j2simpso 3 года назад
@@DavidFrat123 didn’t know Samsung has accessibility features built in to their phone and accessories. I was under the impression they were using the same accessibility features of android which is poor if I’m being charitable
@khanhhm5762
@khanhhm5762 3 года назад
@@j2simpso Yes. Anything running Android has accessibility built into it. On Samsung smart phones for example, a blind user has the choice to use Voice Assistant-which is a screen reader designed by Samsung-or Talkback-the screen reader built into the Android os. Apple was the first to implement accessibility features such as VoiceOver into their operating systems. (I remember testing one of the first versions of VoiceOver on macOS). Regardless of which system anyone chooses, universal accessibility was a long time in coming, and I’m glad we are seeing more of that now.

my aunt is blind. we see her all the time. the phone speaking and double tapping to click is called voiceover. it actually works really well, and is pretty easy to get used to. it allows you to double tap on things so you can select the correct button instead of trying to guess where the button is. also, on the first tap it will read whatever is selected. you then double tap based on the selection. my aunt has hers at about the same speed. it sounds weird on a recording but it is much easier to listen to in person. i hope that help some of you that are confused about it!

I have a lot of blind people in my family although only one has a guide dog and uses text to speech on a fast setting. That would be my uncle in law. I have spent so much time around him watching South Park and other cursed but yet still amazing shows and just talking in general. Eventually we started talking about why he uses text to speech so fast. As we were just talking I realized more and more that I could understand the squeaking. It took a while but I earned an ear for it. I just ignore it most of the time to respect his privacy. Oh right, I do need to unproductive him to Hazbin hotel and Helluva Boss by Vivzipop. I've followed the channel since long before it blew up in popularity and back when I was into speed paints or speed edits. Now, I can't get another of the hilarious content I'm not sure if it'd be his style though since he doesn't remember how it looked.

It's funny seeing this now, I just saw a video on Tuchmans channel where he was showcasing an old TTS system that would scan printed text (Books, written text, etc) from the 1980s that would then read allowed the text. During his video he mentioned that blind people he knew that used systems like that would crank the read back speed to the maximum, but that he couldn't make heads or tails of what was being said. Now seeing this video where she does exactly that, I couldn't make heada or tails of what was being said by her phone, but it was clear this was second nature to her. So interesting to see it being done in practice.

If I had one of these I’d honestly sneak it in my dads pocket he repairs and sells cars so when we need him or it’s time to eat we never know where he is cuz if he’s at home he’s either under or in the car where we can’t see him or taking the car for a test drive so I’d use this to keep track of him 💀

i dont know why i was surprised to hear the voice text go so fast. it makes sense since she uses it everyday so she’d be able to understand it speaking quickly, but i didn’t think of that lmao.

I've noticed it seems common for blind people have the voice on their phone set to speak really fucking fast and it astounds me how they can understand what it said at that speed.
