hello mate, nice video. I have a question for you though: as I have an audi a3 sportback from 2014 with the same MMI, if I wanted to install the same device as you did, do I need to update my system to the last firmware or just installing the tool itself is enough? I'm asking because I'd really love to be using apple carplay and android auto not only for its apps but mostly for google maps navigation since updating the maps at Audi do cost a lot of money which could be instead spent on the device for greater final result. I hope for an answer of yours Cheers
Hi! No fortunately you do not need to update the firmware. All the maps from google maps etcetera get updated trough the internet connection on the phone! It works perfectly

Maybe I missed it, but how do you move/scroll around the map as well? Looks like there's an icon with four arrows, if you press that do you have to use the rotary knob to shift in each direction? or can you use the touch pad on top of the knob to 'slide' along the map like we do with the OEM map? Thanks for actually showing you using the unit so much and how responsive it is. That was one of my concerns, if it would be laggy or reduced sound quality. Being able to keep the OEM microphone is 👍👍
I just bought the system and installed it today. I didn’t get the OEM backup cam to work but didn’t put much effort to it. It still works, especially the beeping, but the screen does not appear automatically. If you quickly switch to the OEM-Screen, you can see it. I just installed this same system, different brand but same exact plug ins and everything connects to the CarPlay’s however when I play music there is no audio playing through the car, would u by chance know how to fix that?
Ziet er goed uit! Zie je bij de navigatie ook nog steeds de aanwijzingen in het dashboard (tussen de toerenteller en de snelheidsmeter)? Daar kijk ik eigenlijk het meeste naar.
Hi, thanks! Nee dit zie je niet meer. Het systeem maakt echt connectie met je centrale scherm. Sowieso werkt dit volgens mij ook niet bij originele carplay systemen van Audi, Carplay heeft geen ondersteuning hiervoor... wellicht in de toekomst... Uiteraard werkt de normale navigatie nog wel tussen je meters in!
Hi, how does it work with listening to the radio or media via the car's MMI and using a navigation app like Waze via AudiVolt at the same time? Does that work or can't you use these two at the same time?
Do you have any suggestion for getting Android Auto to work on a 2018 Audi A3? My MMI os version is using MST2 and it refuses to work with my adapter. I've tried many potential fixes but still no luck. I really don't want to dish out a lot of money on an expensive head unit which likely wont work either.
@@DamnFast Maybe but I'm not sure. I might be able to buy a firmware update from navman that can do it but as far as I know the MST2 head units are incompatible.
Not really a reduction in sound quality, but there is a slight difference which I corrected with the equalizer. There is a slight delay of around 1 second in this system, but nothing to worry about
What about steering wheel buttons? Especially next and previous songs pn spotify. Saw some units with issues with this and you can only change songs with the central knobs
Hi! All buttons are still working. My car does not have the next and previous button on the steeringwheel, you only have that with the newer facelifted A3. Mute, volume are still working fine, to change song you have to use the button near the mmi controller
