APPLE HAS A SIZING PROBLEM WITH THEIR NEW SOLO LOOP & SOLO BRAIDED LOOP | SIZING GUIDE

My wife is one of those weirdos who like their watch super loose. She likes her watch to be able to spin around her wrist. It drives me nuts!

Helped me a lot - I’m pretty sure I’ve ordered the right size as I do like my bands slightly lose. I’m in NZ where the closest Apple store is in Australia - so have a 9 week wait for mine. Very good video.💥

Hey guys. I have noticed this problem in my case but I figured it out. I printed one without changing the paper size to 100 percent. When I measured, I got a 6. So according to Juan, 6-2=4. So my size is four. But when I printed out the same piece of paper at 100%, my size is a four too. So what I am trying to get at is Juan's measurements are correct, and you also have to make sure you print at 100%. I don't know if I am late to this or not, but I thought I would let everyone know.

This is why I am glad I went to the store and had the chance to try the bands on myself before I bought them. I went and bought a leather band and did a exchange since I needed the med instead of large and while waiting I tried them on. I was between 6-7 and was happy with a 5 actually.

Good advice: Use Apple's sizing tool. If you fall between two numbers, find the average of that number and subtract it by 1.5. That's your size. But if you fall on a whole number, subtract it by 2, and that's your size.

I fell on an 8/9 but they were sold out. I ended up buying a 7, but I was scared its going to be too tight. This video really calmed my nerves. It's almost like I got lucky with size 8 and 9 being sold out. Thank you brother. You've got a sub!

Great video! I was able to go to the Apple store and find out what size fits me perfectly...Using Apple’s sizing paper tool they provide at the store, it was exactly correct...

I measured a size 2 using their online tool. Went for a size 1 braided loop and it fits perfectly.

In my case the Apple sizing tool was spot on. Landed in the middle of size 7 without tightening much, and in the line between 6 and 7 when pulling a little tighter. My wrist measured 16.4 cm pulling a little tight so Apple recommended either size 6 or 7 depending on my preference. So I purchased both (braided RED version) thinking I’d return the one that didn’t fit. Well, now I don’t know which one to return because both fit just fine! Maybe the 6 is a little bit too snug but not uncomfortably so. Maybe I’ll end up keeping both, as backup.

Hi Juan. After watching tons of videos like this, I decided to follow your advices about sizing with the solo loop. I measured both with the Apple printable tool and the normal tape measure: with the first one held really tightly to my wrist I was a size 5. The tape measure told me I was about 14,5 cm (or little less than 6 inches), so according to Apple my size is 4. But I was uncertain and took my risk ordering a size 3 for my Pride Edition Braided Solo Loop. It just came home and…IT IS PERFECT! So I wanted to thank you from the bottom of my heart, and maybe help other people who are struggling with the same issue. Your video was the most helpful one on the Tube.

Definitely. I ordered my blue Solo Loop with an Apple rep over the phone on Friday. I measured my wrist with a measuring tape from my sewing kit. My wrist measures at 13.5cm. Apple said to order a size TWO. After all the stories, I told her to make it the size ONE, so she did. Sure enough, I get to the Apple store to pick up my band, try on the size two, and WAY too big! Even the size one is a teeny bit loose, so I have to wear it up further on my arm so Blood Oxygen will work. So, the Apple tool and rep were wrong.

Two days ago I went to an Apple Store to replace my years-old watchband which had been bothering my wrist and causing numbness in my hand after a few hours of wear. So I chose the Solo Loop style and like it A LOT! In fact, it is the most comfortable watch band I've ever had. With regard to sizing, I recommend that you do what I did and go to a store because there you can try one after another, to find which size is best for you. For me, the sizing recommended by Apple was NOT too big at all. In fact, the size recommended was 5, but it wasn't comfortable for me until I tried the largest size, size 9! All the others, from 8 on down, were too tight. Here's a GOOD reason to READ the instructions that come with the Solo Loop watch band: The instructions show that you can make the band tighter/more snug on your wrist, by stretching it when it is on your wrist. So if you don't want it tighter, avoid stretching it, though that seems counter-intuitive.

Fall is my favorite season, always. New apple products and the changing color of the leaves!

So I used the printed version from apples site and checked it with a credit card and it was correctly printed. I was still skeptical to order without trying one on. So I made an appointment and went to the apple store. They have sizing guides in store that come packed the same way a band-aid comes packaged. These in store guides are much more accurate, infact they're perfect. After using the sizing guide in store I was in between 2 sizes, they recommend going with the lower size. So I asked to try on both and the lower size was the best fit. It's not too tight, it's not too loose, it's just right! Idk why these guides online and in store are so different, they're 2-3 sizes different. They should offer a way to order the size guide online for $1 for shipping costs or they should include them with new apple watches. After I left the store I realized I messed up by not keeping the sizing guide I used in store as they're disposable. Next time I visit an apple store I'm going to take one home with me for family members to use as a guide.

I got the size 12 braided solo loop and the 44mm watch. fits a 8.5 inch wrist perfectly

I measured my wrist by pulling their tool as tight as I possibly could. I got a 5 and I use the 44mm watch, and based on other watch bands it seems like that will be good, but I’ll update once I get the band this week. My assumption is that most people (not all) are measuring incorrectly, but I’ll see first hand soon

Thanks for the info! I think I won't get one before I can go into the store (I am lucky enough to live near several). I can tell from your video that online sizing info probably won't help me since what most people want looks painful to me. That being said, this video helped me be sure I shouldn't order without giving them an in person look (since I don't have a current band to compare with).

At the end I put my almost new sports band without putting the remaining plastic inside, then used the hole the was the most firm to my wrist to use, took the band out, take the Apple Watch out of the band, attach the two parts of the band again using the same hole you used first (without the watch) and then you can measure the full band from end to end in a flat surface.

I was sized 7 borderline 8 per Apple. Went with a 7, which was loose in my subjective opinion but I suppose is okay for daily wear and comfortable. Ordered a 5 for working out since I like it more snug, still fits good and comfortable. 6 would be perfect.

I was excited for this band when it came out, for obvious reasons, but even the largest size is too small for me (according to the Apple info). At some point I may try Juan's measurements and see if I can get one.

Here's my experience sizing for the Solo Loop: per Apple's print-and-cut-out sizer, I should be a size 6. Per Juan's size chart, a size 8 (6.1 inches). Went to an Apple store: per their measuring tape, size 6--but 6 was very loose, so we tried 5, which was still a little loose, then 4 which was just right...snug but not tight...also allowing for the band stretching over time. The important thing for me was getting a snug enough fit so that the watch does not move--to get good heart rate readings while I'm running.

I was right in between 6-7. Ordered size 5 in braided charcoal. It fits perfect. Tried 4 but too tight.

I was between 10 and 11 i got the 11 and it fits great.

I went to Apple for sizing. First I tried the sizing tool which put me between a 6 and 7. An Apple employee came out with a solo loop and a braided loop. They had a watch that I’m getting to try one with both bands. I am a size 5 for the solo loop and for the braided loop, I am a size 6. Hope this helps.

I must say that for me Apple‘s sizing is absolutely perfect! 🤷🏻‍♀️😁

2 years later, I walked into Apple store today to try on my bands and get the correct size. They measured my wrist, and the first size worked perfectly. They said that when it's between 2 sizes, to choose the smaller size, and they were right.
