Are you willing to pay a premium for an Apple cable or opt for alternatives?

Can I keep using my usb a charger with usb a to c cables to charge the new usb c iphone?
@pepingelardi1210
@pepingelardi1210 10 месяцев назад
@@MJyoutubechannel23 yes, probably this will work just fine. However most USB-A chargers are limited to 5V and less than 2.4 Amps for a total of 12Watts. At that rate, it could take several hours to charge your new phone. But if you’re like most folks who plug it in at night, that should be fine. However, if you need a speedy charging solution for your desk or travel setup, consider investing in a faster usb-c to usb-c option.

Other people online are claiming that ios is warning them about using android cables on their iphone 15s… Doesn’t this go against a standard cable?
@Skeezitts

Now here’s an issue. A lot of cables have to be MFI certified for use on iPhones. With a lot of USB-C cables out there are they actually MFI certified or does it matter anymore?
@DanCra-qv7hq
@DanCra-qv7hq 2 месяца назад
They don’t have to have mfi certified. That is why Apple didn’t want to switch.
@tomikun8057
@tomikun8057 Месяц назад
It doesn't. USB4 and Thunderbolt 3-4 cables are identical so you now refer to the USBIF certification for which there are many depending on how good the cable is. The only difference between cables is build quality that allows faster transfers. If it's USB2, don't get it, it's garbage 480mbps. Basically unusable except for charging. Anything above USB3 is good enough. Don't google what the various 3.1, 3.2 Gen 2x2 blah blah mean. It doesn't matter, they all have DisplayPort. You only need to look for speed and/or watts. Some cables only have data transfer, some only have charging. Do double check specs as the video suggests. Higher speeds means more monitors/resolution. DP Alt Mode will magically take care of that. It'll simply just not work if you try to add too many monitors/too high resolutions for the hardware you have. Disclaimer: Am not an engineer. I just googled for a few weeks about another related topic.

Hello Dalvin , I hope everything is going smoothly for you. I have a puzzling situation to discuss. I recently bought Apple Type C headphones, and they function perfectly with my iPhone 15 and Android device Mi 11X. However, I'm facing an issue with compatibility on Mi 11X Pro, despite both phones being from the same brand and having the same USB output. Could you help me understand the reason behind this? Additionally, I'm contemplating purchasing a Nothing Phone 2, so I would appreciate it if you could check the compatibility with these headphones on the Nothing phone as well, if possible. and could you explain why this headphone is compactible with some android phones and some are not, even in same brand.

How is this saving me money? I just paid for an iPhone 13, its got the C type cable and no charging plug and i can not attach it to my PC because i dont have a C type USB on my 2 year old PC. So today i need to go back to the Apple store and pay for a charger to fit this C type cable ($30 - 40 USD) then either a USB cable converter (defeats the object because then i have slower transfer speeds) or a C type Hub, port or converter that's going to also cost me anything up to a $100 dollars. Ok there are cheaper options and brands, but they could also be so cheap that they brick my phone. This is starting to become a pattern, i bought a Nikon Z30 last year and that also came without a charger and a "charging cable" that was useless, because its like 4 inches long and is really a data transfer cable and not suitable for charging, so i needed to also pay more for a proper cable and an expensive power bank to just be able to use this camera for more then 30 minutes before the battery drained and i spent 10 hours charging.

Yes, this is the scenario. It’s sort of kick the can situation. Like ONE day, it will allll fit together and we will only need one kind of cable and will be saving money. BUT, until they happily ever after, we will be buying new blocks, (or like us - sharing a block for a family of 4), buying adaptors, still flipping the ends over and over in the dark. All the while, android users are still laughing at us.

i understand your dilemma. Alot of people are struggling with the fact that they have already bought alot of MFI certified accessories. And im also having the problem: what accessorie i should buy? Because i still have a phone with lighning-port and my pc doesnt have a usb-c port and i use third party cable for charging becaus apple doesnt ship the charger anymore (i wont pay that much for simple charger). So at the end of the day you stuck with buying accesories here and there. It would have been nice if they just made every product usb-c when they started doing it on the ipads. This is one of the reasons not to buy apple products at all, the darn ecosystem

Not really. Androids originally had micro USB. Some of them still dont even have USBC. Apple was one of the first companies to bring USBC to mainstream to Macs and then iPads…..but they got greedy with iPhones and held out as long as possible.

@@yuriydeeMicro USB was STILL a more universal standard years ago when the MAJORITY of Android makers used it. The ONLY reason Apple kept (and would still keep if they could) the lightning port is because of the money made from the mfi program

The charging power of the iPhone is limited to 25W. Even using a 60W charger and a 60W charging cable, the charging effect is relatively ordinary.

@@theodoreullrich3588 what does this have to do with masculinity exactly? Are you implying it is not masculine for two gay men to flirt?
@theodoreullrich3588
@theodoreullrich3588 10 месяцев назад
Hi@@Steaksandforks , thanks for your question. "Toxic Masculinity" is the notion that some people's idea of “manliness” requires a man to act with domination, homophobia, and aggression. In other words, its cultural pressure for men to behave in a certain way to prove their manliness. That's an issue because the pressure can lead to depression, suicide, and violence. In the comments section of this video about USB cables, folks are using classic Toxic Masculinity language to harass someone based on an assumption about preference. Folks might be doing it due to trauma they experienced in their past, for example if other men harassed them when they didn't live up to someone else's definition of manliness. Let's break the cycle, be kind to each other, and move on. Thank you.
