Apple iPhone 4 vs. HTC Droid Incredible 

I remember watching this review a while ago! I really wanted an iPhone but it wasn't out yet on Verizon so I decided to get the HTC Droid Incredible. It was a great phone for the first year I had it, but after that it started to go. I couldn't send or receive any texts, and it would just not work on me anymore. I had to buy so many new charging cable because they always broke. I now own an iPhone 5 and you can really see the quality difference of just the materials and the OS. More care is taken

i believe these are the 2/3 best products in the market (evo 4g). i couldnt decide between these two but ended up with iphone because of the quality of the screen. i also like the smoothness of the screen, scolling and opening of apps. however, i miss my weather widgets :-(. both great phones tho

droid incredible is a great phone. im 13 and i own one, i've owned it since the day it was released. im not a "geek" with technology but i know quite a bit about it. its a good phone.

I have an HTC Incredible. My father just picked up an iPhone 4. The display on the iPhone 4 is literally unbelievable to me. It does not look like a computer screen. It looks like a sticker. The Incredible is more like a standard computer screen. Adding the 8mp Incredible camera to the iPhone, giving it a rubberized sized and back, putting it on Verizon's network, and making it about .5" shorter in height would make a perfect phone.

Iphone 4 all the way. An Epic phone that beats all the other phones out there!!

@cocopara iphone 4's resolution is that of a crt desktop monitor. guess that doesn't mena anything to you. Or is it that photos taken with it's 5 mpx camera look better than droids 8 mpx?

@inuadi costumization is a way bigger advantage over scrolling pages. Although iOS does have a better feel when you used but the difference is not so huge to make a huge disadvantage. And if HTC comes from no where and becomes a rival against a well-known established product, it is definitely doing very well as in maybe even better that the apple.

does the droid incredible have a front facing camera for video chat?

Im gettin the HTC phone and my sister is gettin the Iphone...GREAT! now i can play with both of them!!!

So what is better I know droid has like not famous apps and iPhone has famous apps bit what is better I finished my verizon contract and thinking if I should get the iPhone or the droid any ideas?

@xXLeVvEXx Actually it does mean. The higer is not automatically better but usually lower MP amount is better, especially when you have fullsize (35mm) sensor so single pixel can capture more photons than what can smaller sensor or higer MP camera (with same sensor size). The lens is very important as well so there would not be distortions or you can have very little light reflection. But otherwise it is the A/D conversion what causes bad quality.

@OcarinaBrothers well i use flash programs a lot for school so it definatley helps that. but the battery is weak and i swear the 1ghz processor is under-clocked to like 100mhz. i need to fix that

why dont you test this against the htc sensation xe, evo 3d, htcc sensation xl, htc sensation or sg2? GF.

@Splackavellie85 And the Evo3D might have a slightly larger battery (the iPhone does NOT have a 1200 mAh battery), but it also has to power a larger screen, and Android, which isn't as efficient in powermanagement as iOS is. Result? the iPhone 4 actually lasts longer, especially if you actually use that 3D on the Evo. But there's no arguing with a fanboy, so enjoy your Evo, and I'll do the same with my Sensation :)

I have the Droid Incredible currently and I have to say that it is awful. I keep my phones in a good of quality as I can, but this thing is extremely poor in quality both inside and out. The signal lies to me, saying that I have 2 bars when I really don't, it overheats very quickly, it freezes very often about once every ten minutes. Hope this helped for any future Droid Incredible buyers. My advice: get the iPhone 4.

Gamer7790: I have both the IPhone 4 and Droid X. Neither phone is perfect, but The IPhone quality can't be beaten. My wife has the Incredible, nice phone but very fragile and the Sense UI is not perfect on it. HTC has done a great job in moving ahead, but the Android OS open market is a security nightmare and some programmers love to take advantage of that. Seen the news lately?

im switching from the droid incredible to the iphone4 this week.. this droid is like 2 years old and it's just dying. right now it sucks. always randomly shutting off, and the memory on it is screwed up. an icon keeps popping up that says something like "phone storage space running low, delete 512 KB of space or you will not receive messages" so i have to start deleting apps one after another (and i don't have that many) and it says i have like 75% space still open.. doesn't make any sense

also the incredible drops frame rate just to keep up with your finger gestures (unlike iphone4) also what point is it to have an 8megapixel camera when your screen resolution can never take advantage of this thats why the iphone pics look good and more detail as the camera resolution is same as screen resolution therefore you get a way better image even though the incredible's camera is 8 megapix and not 5megapix like iphone4, also iphone has HDR (high dynamic range)

HTC Incredible also records at 720p! So why does the IPHONE 4 it's better in video terms?

You didn't mention with the iphone that in result of of it's slick design, if you hold the phone wrong, you will drop your call....

Yeah, HTC really fell flat supporting their phones a a year or two ago. That's why they are in trouble now and are trying to do a 180 in their build and support.

ppl defending the iphone only say the design is better... yeah the iphone does look nicer, but does that really matter? Would you rather be stuck with a phone that does not look as nice as the iphone, but functions better? Or would you want something that looks pretty but is very limited on what you can do?

Man I almost threw my 3GS away when I saw the incredible in person. But then I just thought about it and said it's not that much better than an iPhone. So I'll wait till iphone5 to see if I'm going droid or not.

Yes, the iPhone can "only" shoot video at 720p, and the Evo can shoot 1080p. But there's more to quality than resolution, and I'll take the iPhone camera above the one on the Evo 3D any day, especially for stills. And the iPhone 4 might have a slightly smaller battery (1420 mAh, NOT 1200 mAh), but the Evo has to power a larger screen and

I use an incredible and it really lives up to its name. However if the iPhone came to verizon, i'd switch in a heartbeat.

i think the iphone beats the droid because of the better looking in all aspects that includes the outside and inside desing and the cool efect it does when u take a picture or open something or get out of something, apple always tries to make there products look really nice and cool and HTC was a bit less interested in the looking of the device. I have the iphone 4. I love it. I get very good reception also. I think that the screen on the HTC is too hard to type. The iphone 4 has a touch screen. The HTC has a poke screen, That's my opinion and everyone is entitled to their own opinion. (:

@bhavinbhatt370001 i have no idea what review you were watching he basically listed the spec and then gave a opinion on to which phone was was better in his opinion thats what you have to remember. I have a Droid Incredible and it is a-some however realize that held next to the iphone 4 its hard to say which is better. However in technical and visual terms such as camera and display the iphone is better but you wont notice till your holding them right next to each other.

i had the htc incredible and now i have the iphone 4..the incredible sucks when it comes to the battery life; however, it is less complicated than the iphone 4.

@smcoats I wasnt trying to sound like a fan boy, its just funny to me when people dont know what there talking about like that kid did. Like if your really going to make a statement on which is better, you should know every phone in and out. But i think the iPhone appears to have better pictures because of the resoloution. Either way, i really like my Incredible and for every thing i do, an iPhone doesnt cut it for me.

@Super360achievements i dont know whats wrong with your incredible, take it to a local Verizon store and they will repair it hopefully, because my droid incredible does not lie to me at all, and doesnt freeze... check with verizon to see the problems

Yes, the iPhone 4's build materials are WAY better than the Incredible's. Incredibles front made out of plastic that can take a hit, but the Iphone is MUCH better because it makes a cool, shattering noise when you drop it. And don't forget he iPhone's AWESOME STAINLESS STELL BAND THAT MAKES YOU DROP CALLS IF YOU HOLD IT LIKE A NORMAL PERSON! YEAH!

@kingxsut2 dude if u want real multi-tasking on an iphone its called a jailbreak and backgrounder. but apples approach to saving battery life and performance with their multi-tasking was a good idea bt even i (who love iphones) think it was a bit of a fail

@smalltimeroller Look online for videos of people dropping the new iPhone from like 3 feet. Screen completely shatters and the phone stops working! Then also go online and yu can find blogs of the incredible being dropped and not breaking,*& then being dropped into a bonfire for 10 minutes and still work normally!

@H4RDSoren Had mine for 2 months. Got it free when best buy had it for free. Cant find it on the Verizon website anymore. Now they have the Incredible 2. I tell ya I have had no problems with this phone and I havent got bored of it yet... Still love it! You will be pleased.

The fact that even after being out for a year, it's still being compared to the top dogs of other manufacturers, only proves that Apple thinks it's better to make a good handset than it is to give handset innovative features that are -for the time being- wortless. 3D video recording? Please.. I'd take the iPhone 4's camera over that on the HTC Evo 3D any day.

@Dilster3k noooooo... i am getting my first smartphone right now, and i am getting android on verizon, it will never die. my friend has the verizon iphone and he is really unhappy that he got it, he would have settled for the android.

i like both phones. they are both very nice. i think the droid is a little better right now. the iphone is going to come to verizon, and when it does it will have better service. so idk which phone i like better.

android and ios are very different. I own both an iphone 3gs and a nexus one, I think they're both great, ios is definitely feels more polished, but android 2.2 gives you more freedom and flexibility of use. depends on your personal preference... entirely. all best to all

You say the choice materials on the droid Incredible aren't as good as the iPhone 4. Drop both phones on concret and ask me which phone is in better quality condition. Glass isn't choice material or durable, might be classy, feel nice in the hand. Construction on the Incredible is better, the phone isn't as heavy so when your trip leads to a fall the heavier the harder it will hit, and glass LOL.......Don't know if you're serious Son.

Apple has the money and fans willing to pay for the higher priced materials to mAke the iphones or ipods but static? Havent heard static on any phone since ive had a cell phone. Iphone has hdr photos wich takes 3 photos and comines them all to make the best picture possible

iPhone 4 definitely wins the design and camera parts. When choosing the OS it gets harder... Both are good OS's, but i'd go for iOS, because... I don't know, i just prefer it over Android. (Within 2-3 years Android will be able to beat iOS totally, but for now, iOS is king of mobile OS's. And haters: don't thumb me down, i ain't no fanboy)

All said and done I have owned both these units and I still reckon the 1Phone4 comes up trumps main reason wich you dont see in the video is the major lag on the "incredible" once you have a few apps running its all well and good when you have one app open at a time but this never happens in the real world the iphone kills the incredible with resolution colour and sound the incredible sounds crap with headphones and the iphone is also louder, even just scrolling the incredible you get lag

It's a testament to the quality that comparisons to Android-phones like this are moot, and it's still being compared to the biggest and best of the moment. So, not only does the iPhone 4 compare favorably with the original Incredible, it's also better than the newer Incredible S, and even compares very favorably to the even bigger and better HTC Sensation.

Most of you Iphone users have no real understanding of apple software and how proprietary mac makes its product. Do some solid research before judging on this one... Looks don't make a good phone. Both are good product, but Android OS is open-source, and the rooting capability is GREAT with the HTC Incredible!!!

how woukd the iphone be more durable if all of it is glass.....the incredible's plastic wont shatter just maybe put dents and scratches
