I just got one these because I absolutely love this clean look. The black display with the silver chamfered edges combo only happens in this specific iPod and it looks great. In the days of music streaming we live today, this little guy has become a great way to play music over Bluetooth and don't get prevented from stuff like taking calls on your phone.

it is so weird to see an older os on a more modern looking iPod i do have the same one and for some time i thought it was fake

A lot of people say they don't want this iPod because of not having a rear camera. But, look, if you got a digital camera or smartphone ( then there you go).

I'm still happy I got the 32GB version at $299. I actually upgraded from a 3rd gen, not 4th gen, so the upgrade was substantial for me and the back camera was one of the compelling reasons for me to upgrade. That being said, I still think it was a very smart move for Apple to do this. Getting all the latest specs and hardware in at a lower price point will make people who don't have or want to spend as much money very happy.

This iPod makes me remember my high school days, i have a funny anecdote: one of my friends bought this iPod in early 2014, and just one week later, Apple re-lauch the 16GB model with rear camera and the other colours, keeping the same price, and when i showed that to my friend, he turns very angry and just throw away his iPod and the screen got a crack 😂 and when he picked up and see the crack, i told him: -Hey, you're even more stupid than i thinked!!! you have 30 days to give it back and get your refound to buy the new one, but now you can't anymore 🤦🏻‍♂️

bought the 16gig ipod only to find out it didnt have a back camera, it doesnt make sense to me that they wanted to make a "low cost ipod" and take out an essential feature of the ipod touch (to me anyway)..

As someone who owned an iPod 5 (still have it to this day but I unfortunately dropped it in the toilet in 2016 and that fried the device), I had the 32GB model in blue and I absolutely loved it. My parents thought it was a waste of money since I had a phone as well but once I got the iPod, I barely used my phone. Came to the point they just took the phone from me because I just wasn't using it and they felt the phone was a waste of money. Bought the iPod in January 2015 I believe and I used it as my main device all the way up to October 2016 (that's when it got water damaged). I had apps on it that I could text and call off of so I legit turned that thing into an iPhone. Lol. It was an awesome device at the time. Brings back a lot of memories for me. I was actually gonna get my iPod fixed at one point in 2019 but the guy at the shop told me it wasn't worth it so I never did. I loved my iPod in the time I had it though.

Lol. This was actually the same exact iPod my mom got me. I still have the dang thing too, it's sitting right next to me. Water damaged, but I'm getting it repaired as a birthday present to myself.

I still got an iPod Touch 5th generation without a back camera and it still runs pretty well, it can still run lots of games and some apps I need. It is on ios 9 but it would be better if it was on ios 10 so you could install more apps that need ios 10, but it does everything I need so. Apple did a good job on it I guess.

I got mine when it came out and it stopped turning on last year or maybe 2019, it just sits in my room now but I remember I used to be upset that I didn’t have a back camera because I liked to take pictures of things etc, but I managed with my front camera 😌

I got this for christmas and my parents didn't know it didn't have a rear facing camera. At first I was really disappointed. Then, i just decided to keep it. I really like taking pictures and that is one thing about the Ipod touch 16 gb I don't like. I've only had it for two months and I have decided that I am going to sell it on ebay and get the 32 gb green/yellow iPod touch.

Honestly I don't care about the loop. But kinda disappointing about no back facing camera. But I don't use cameras on devices so its all good. I'm currently saving up for this and I'm super excited! :D

I'm thinking of picking one of these up (well, the 32gb version with the camera on the back) to replace my ancient 2nd generation iPod Touch. It's served me well for about 5 years now but it's really starting to die. I would sell my old one, but I dont know how many people would want an iPod Touch that has a slightly scratched screen, a brushed steel style backing and a ''Touch me gently'' engraving on the back. For someone without a phone it's a perfect alternative. iMessage for my family!

I have a 3rd generation 8 gig and I'm getting this tomorrow cause I can't stand how slow it's gotten. Unlike most people on here, I use mine for music like the iPod was originally intended for. Apple only cares about apps now, Steve would've kept the focus on music like the good old days. :P

I got my ipod 5 with a back camera for 199 dollars and I'm going to have it with color too. I heard they made a new update on June 26 so i bought one on June 27 so I'm getting color with it and a loop its cool you guys should get one .ITS 16gb people its a win win!!!!!

now on June 26, 2014, Apple made the 16GB iPod Touch with a rear iSight camera, featured more colors, and maybe included the iPod Touch loop. Im buying the 16GB with the camera, loop, and colored Red.

I have this ipod is cool I also know how to tape videos with the front camra that's what I use in my videos it's a pretty good purchase.

I personally think this was a great Idea! I think it looks alot better without the belt loop but would have liked to see a camera... But then again for someone who just wants it for music its a great "ipod".

Can I use the front facing camera for QR reader? My son will be using a QR reader for homework assignments and I just bought him the 16 gig version for a bday present. I had no idea that it didn't include the rear cam. Bummer.

I was mad when this came out because I had an iPod touch 4g in 16gigs and my younger cousin bought this not knowing it didn't have a back camera and she wanted the back camera so they returned it for the 32gb version with a front camera and it made me so jealous because her ipod was better than mine in every way but now I have my moms old iPhone 4s YAAAAAAAYYYY
