Please don’t be misleading: LLMs do NOT generate images but only text. ChatGPT generates images because it has integration with DALL-E (model to generate images)

@@inamulbhuyan the grafic is not as good as apple grafic.. X elite might be a bit powerfull in term of performance (12 core vs 8 core) from apple base M cip, but we don't know yet how its fully perform because it will used only ARM windows, not like the x86 windows..

I don’t need Apple AI. I just need Siri to reliably parse a simple sentence. Hopefully their work on Siri will achieve that. And how about a data usage capacity in the Settings/Cellular menu by Wi-Fi and cellular with user definable cut off dates and monthly auto reset to monitor monthly data usage automatically. Any chance to make email .ics files work properly? And maybe when I click on a link in a browser requiring another app on my iPhone don’t take me to the App Store if the app is already installed . IMO Apple would be better off to add or improve simple things that either don’t work well or aren’t there instead of going off chasing shiny new baubles. Microsoft would be in the same boat. By the way in posting this comment I had to make about 20 text corrections because Siri just can’t take simple dictation. Fix what you’ve got first Apple.

This. When I click a link in an app or the Safari button, I’d like to be able to set it to open safari as a default and not an overlaid browser that stops me from interacting with the app. The iOS keyboard still sucks. You can’t make your hotspot stay turned on. Bread and butter stuff. The kind of stuff Android has had right for nearly 15 years.

Base won't since it will increase the price of base models And most users dont need a lot GB, macbook is using ram perfectly for everyday use If you do demanding work you should not even worry about base models, that's not what you should be buying anywya

The Air needs to go away. No reason to be charging $1000, for a computer without active cooling. The price increase for manufacturing is nominal. It is all about maximizing margin, at the expense of creating value for the customer. The Air line (at this point) is PURELY to be seen as giving every one the notion that they too, can own a “premium” product, at a “friendly” price point, and to ensnare users into the ecosystem and grow the services side of the business (reoccurring revenue). When in reality, they offer a substandard product (the Air) for a premium price tag given what you get. It’s all sales and marketing. And the comments under this thread show how effective it is. You all are defending it. 👀. I used to have a 2016 Air, with the Intel i5… Under $1000. Guess what it had?… A FAN! 😅…. The new Airs sporting the M chips, are not value creation products. They are value extraction product offerings. In fact value extraction is Apple’s current pricing model. They’ve always costed more, but it has crossed over into stupidity at this point.

Vadim, I like your theory about the Ultra and Extreme. The problem with the original Ultra design is that combining 2 Max chips scales up CPU cores and graphics cores together. Doubling CPU cores is not as useful as doubling (or more than doubling) graphics cores, because AI, simulation and even high-end gaming demands more silicon area devoted to GPUs. After all, Apple silicon has been at a disadvantage relative to PCs with separate Nvidia GPUs that have big dies. I expect the new Ultra will mostly add GPU cores, and the Extreme might even fuse the Ultra to a second chip that’s mostly a GPU.

Creating new chips for the ultra and higher tier make sense. Mac Mini, Mac Stdio and Mac Pro don’t need efficiency cores, so go full performance cores sound awesome.

I hardly think an image proves no interposer on the die, if you remember earlier M1 chips had the interposer photoshopped off. Plus a monolithic die >860 isn't possible for a variety of reasons, including yield, hence why they have to stick two M2 together and will in all likelihood do the same for M3 Ultra.

yeah, exactly my thoughts to the new chipdesign for nonmobile pro-devices (M3 ultra/extreme). The new M3-Ultra is a new chipdesign with an interconnect and without efficiency-cores, and the new M3-Extreme is two M3-Ultra combined via the Interconnect. This just make sense... leave out the mobile/efficiency-compromises, to get a pro-only-design für the Mac Studio, and a MacPro-workstation above the Mac Studio. With this step the lineup would be complete.

This is pure speculation, but is there any chance that the M3 Max chips could end up in the Mac mini form factor and the M3 Ultra chips end up in a Studio like form factor given that the efficiency cores are going to be supposedly removed from the ultra chips. This would imply a much higher difference in performance between the M3 Ultra and Max chips than currently exist in the M2 Max / Ultra architecture. This would also imply that cooling would be sufficient for the M3 max chips in the Mac mini form factor.

Not likely, even if the Mac Mini could conservatively handle the M3 Max chip heat dissipation (which probably would require software throttling the performance under moderate to heavy CPU/GPU workloads). I say, not likely, also from a marketing and pricing standpoint. Although some users might like an M3 Max Mac Mini, the Apple pricing would push this config even further into Mac Studio territory, and create a bit of “buyer” confusion over which to buy. Additionally, Apple figures the M3 Max buyers are “power” users and these buyers would want the extra Thunderbolt ports and SD card reader that’s available in the Mac Studio. Finally, creating a new M3 Max PCB and marketing configurations has cost ramifications from a stocking and long-term support perspective that probably isn’t worth the cost since they can just push the customer to buy the existing (or coming M3-based) Mac Studio.

There are rumours that the M3 ultra and beyond will be the first on N3P platform (as opposed to the N3B) that the current M3/M3 Pro/M3 Max are on. That would also explain why you can’t pair two m3 Maxes together as the new chip is on an entirely different platform.

If I were to make a phone, I would use samsungs screen and cameras but the cameras will have apples sensor, I would also use apple speakers for the phone since they are better, for the processor I would use a snapdragon chip. The “Samsung/Google has had it for years” is beyond old. There are features that others copy from Apple but no one mentions it the same way. Just because they have features first doesn’t mean much considering features in OS or hardware are buggy or fragile where dust scratches the screen.
