Are you serious? This was known for days before Lew "discovered it". A beta fixing the issue was already available. You need to watch more credible channels than this one if you are interested in anything iPhone related

First and foremost, thank you Lew. I don't think people understand that what you do with some of your videos should be considered a civil service. People are so consumed with competition that they don't see the purpose of putting out "gate" videos. Look, if I paid $1000 for a device, I expect to get exactly what I paid for. If there happened to be an issue with that device, someone like me doesn't have the platform to make it known. You do. And honestly, who knows how long it would've taken for Apple to fix the issue if you hadn't spoke on it. I don't understand how in 2018, people are still arguing over who the dominant cellphone manufacturer is. Who's a fanboy of this/that, who's bias against this/that brand. Cellphones have been really good for quite some time now, no matter the manufacturer (obviously not all). So really, it's all about personal preference. Anyway, thanks for doing what you do and continue doing it regardless of the haters.

Moe Ceesay They released the version of iOS with the fix a few days after his video, and they didn’t even acknowledge it publicly until after his video. So if they fixed it before (not sure where you got that info), they certainly were not being transparent about it. I for one as an iPhone XS Max user appreciate that Lew posted the videos.

Tamir Orbach they fixed it in the beta literally like a day or 2 before he uploaded his video. Since it was a beta not too many ppl knew about it. Don’t get me wrong as an iPhoneX user I expect lew to report any problem I just wish he was less biased and held every company to the same standard. Also apple did acknowledge the issue it was on their website and they told user a public version of iOS 12.0.1 was soon going to be released and address the issue.

They didn't get to be that big by playing nice...they screwed us out of our hard earned dollars and the least we can do is to demand decent products and services. For a $1450 dollar(before taxes)phone with no fingerprint scanner, no expandable storage, no headphone jack, no dongle and a battery that is shity, demanding that it charges the way it should is the least of our demands.

When there are bugs in that, and it being widespread and people genuinely showing frustration, how can you say that it's a small issue and Lew exaggerated it? Lew did show many of the iPhones in the lineup having the same issue and he just got the news out and made the issue go a little bit out there. He clearly doesn't hate the phone apart from the price, which is understandable tho.

Untrue. These fanbases are critical to the growth of the company. They promote competition and thus, Samsung and Apple has the incentive to innovate out of their boundaries -of- or they'll start losing their loyal fans. Just like how Samsung had just exceeded Apple orders in China. Without competition, both companies have no incentive to really innovate. Our technology is reliant on these people who needs to "Grow up".

I'm still unsatisfied. This is Apple we are talking about. This is not an obscure phone company from China (sorry, China, nothing personal, many of Chinese phone companies have truly amazed the world, but you know what I'm talking about when I say "obscure Chinese company"). Apple's language is always busting about how they are beyond the competition and how their quality is unmatched. This is the company that launched a 'book' for a $1,000 about their product design, the company that is selling the most expensive phones, the first company that reached the trillion-dollar milestone and it's the company that managed to get a borderline cult as a fanbase. As advertised, I expect nothing but near perfection from them and this was unacceptable and an insult what Apple is supposed to be.

Maybe but mistakes are always a possibility.... Even with a multi-million tech giant like Apple... The important thing is that they work to fix problems faced by consumers at the earliest to avoid unsatisfied customers... Provided quite a few people experience the same problem (because of just one or two people report a problem there is a possibility of the device being too old or in dysfunction)

I'm not a fan of any honestly i pick the one that has the least amount of flaws i do my research every time i decide to buy a new phone takes me a few days to decide. Iphone is not even an option anymore. Too restricted and i pay for a luxury phone while i get something that's supposed to cost like 200 or 300 dollars less. New ones are more like 300 to 500 dollars less. I wouldn't pay so much for such a phone. Already annoyed at samsung because the note 9 is very pricey but that's so far the one with the least amount of things that annoys me.

Famazes broke? I have an iPhone XS Max, and if google or android are the top phones why is everyone always comparing new phones to iPhones. You don’t ever see anyone comparing phones to google or android. So na not broke, just like the millions others see how far ahead of apple is of competition. When I pay 1200 euros for a mobile device - I want it to function properly, at least basic tasks like reliable charging, fast and stable software, wifi and calls working flawless etc. It's normal to ask for that basic stuff and OEM's shouldn't have a problem with it. Ok, much can be fixed with software updates, but the thing is, you expect high quality from an expensive device as soon as you buy it. Apple has had a lot of problems with iPhone quality since Steve Jobs died. But other companies too: I remember people buying Samsung Note 7 and it caught fire. This has nothing to do with quality, that's pure robbery. Don't fucking overprice that device if you can't deliver!

Apple wouldn't have haters if it was actually as great as people pretend it is. And it's good to point out that people don't need to blindly defend a brand that actively acts like they hate their customers. Really think about this. Apple perpetually has small problems and requires updates constantly. All of those problems aside, Apple doesn't listen to major consumer complaints with each new iPhone. People want headphone jacks back, people want a charger that actually charges your phone properly and quickly, people want more capabilities, people want their battery life to not shit out after 4 months of use. Apple didn't deliver on ANY of that and then they decide to keep raising the price of their phones with each new edition. And going into an Apple store to meet with a "genius" is parodied so much in RU-vid videos and elsewhere because all of the bullshit about them is true. Companies that do this kind of stuff don't care about their customers. I say all of this as a person who uses Apple products.

Of course, development is what it is : not 100% sure. Even if they test a lot there device, the IOS 12 update was an "Optimization update", not a lot of new features, but a lot of improvments everywhere. So when you rewrite a big portion of code of a specific feature, yeah you can let 1 or 2 bugs in some of these just cause we are human. I'm not an Apple Fanboy, but I'm a developer (An Android one btw) and what I can say : It's a lot more easier for me to test 99% of the case of my mobile app, It's a lot more difficult when you are developping an OS. Even if you are Apple or Google or anyone else. The only thing you need to remember here is the Apple reactivity to push a solution for this issue, because that's really a good thing. It's a software trick that isn't meant to smooth your face but instead it's supposed to keep the dynamic range higher for low light pictures by taking multiple pictures at different exposure settings and combining it.

Hey Lew, the Mid 2012 Macbook Pros have a fairly common issue where the GPU basically starts to only work on and off. The result is a computer that is not reliable whatsoever as it reboots constantly. This is a big issue for second hand purchasers as they are expecting a quality apple product for a somewhat affordable price (these days). The only option to fix this issue as of yet is to buy a replacement logic board which can cost upwards of $500. Apple has to be aware of this issue as there are multiple forum posts about it but nothing has been done. If you could bring light to this issue it would really help out the average consumer looking to get in on the Apple laptop market for cheap. Thanks for the great videos Unbox Therapy.

I think we should all be thanking Lew. Having a public forum and hearing a rumor of something and investigating and fining out it was more in depth than just a rumor and an actual issue. They have a tendency to ignore the problems and acknowledge them more like "you as a consumer are just misunderstanding our products are amazing, but in the same process we will fix the issue months later that you have brought to our attention, but our phones are still great." Samsung owned up to their phones exploding. This has nothing to do with Pixel fans. It has everything to do with the fact you are paying 999+ for a phone to a company that refuses to listen or pushes their mistakes on to their users rather than admitting to their mistakes. The problem is if Apple was pushing for wireless charging in general then it shouldnt be forced onto a user when the phone has a corded option. But if you want to compare your premium phone to a Pixel we can start with how Apple treats its consumers versus Google. iPhone XS/Max/XR: One no USB-C audio to standard audio jack dongle. Two, no quick charging out of the box, but you can buy it for an extra 60 dollars. Two-and-a-Half: Wireless charging is really slow. Three, a reachable phone that is downgraded so hard on resolution for 749. PocoF1 329 same LCD screen and a fantastic camera. Four, pushes slow down on users to save battery life and doesnt disclose the information until users see what is happening. Apologizes with "We really dont force Apple users to upgrade, we will make the slow down optional." Five, has 2 cameras on the back for awesome depth of field camera power. No automatic beauty, better low light, now helps find a better phone if you make a weird face, zoom without 2 cameras no more grainy zoom. Nine, screens telemarketing calls, has assistant not siri. Ten, premium phone quality build 799 for standard size 899 for XL. Stop defending Apple.

People defending a brand to the point of trying to cover up defects or hating people who show the world those defects is the problem with current consumerism. People seem to think they owe a company some kind of undying loyalty just for using their product. The company is there to answer to you, if there's an issue, that's a problem they need to be made aware of and pressured to fix. It's not a "well I just hate apple" thing. It's a "the product has a major issue that affects actual people and it NEEDS to be brought to their attention. Thank you for what you do.
