I personally have the quest 2 as well and I can tell: « VR is not properly done so far. Resolution on the quest is just terrible to watch videos. I am really impatient apple to release its own headset
Why does the start of the video talk as though consumer VR hasn't been around for years now, with a bunch of existing, high quality options already available?
I'm actually shocked at the way they introduce this video. There are very good options available right now. Quest 2 for example, use the link cable or wireless connection on this device with a decent Pc and you have some epic experiences! Look at all these apple fan boys uneducated about anything tech other than apple 😂😂😂
Because Apple is never first to come out with anything but when they do they tend to revolutionize that area of the industry. That is, mail-order computers vs Apple Computer, Dos-based PCs vs Macs, mp3 players vs iPod, blackberry vs iphone, Palm Pilots vs iPad, etc

Like usual let apple will take everyone else's ideas and make them out like they are innovative and then sell the product for six times it's value and people will flock to buy it because it's "apple".
If you want vr you don't have to wayt, the quest is probably 3 time less expensive than this will be and probably give you a better expereance all around,...
If you've tried any other VR headsets the Oculus is ANYTHING BUT and amazing VR experience. If anything it's a CRAPPY VR EXPERIENCE! It's pathetic compared to other headsets! It's only popular for 2 reasons: - It's cheap AF! - It's wireless!

I will say..."not quite pulled it off"? I know it doesn't literally bring you into another world, but there are plenty of examples of VR headsets that pull it off pretty dang well. I don't see this beating something like the Valve Index. This isn't hate, I just don't see this pulling VR off any better than the current headsets under that logic.
Most People still havnt tried a proper 6dof Vr headset, so it will basically be an all new expierence for them (and they will claim that Apple invented it lol)

Seems a bit unrealistic to have so much expensive tech in their first VR headsets. They will start out basic and then have 10 years of upgrades in their back pocket so that they can upsell every year. In addition, they need to sell the headsets on a mass scale to incentivize developers to develop for the VR platform. Thus, the price needs to be below $500.
I hope apple will release it soon, even I would never buy it. Just because enough idiots buy everything whatever apple offers and an apple VR headset will push the approval of the entire VR market

I see potential for VR to be substantially more than gaming, ie. education/training, business meetings, social gatherings, virtual travel, health and wellness, etc. Basically most things in life will one day be experienced in the virtual world.
just hope it breank back atenchen to vr so pepole can see the new realyty of vr, like the quest 2 at 399$ no computer needed 4k 90Hz and the HUGE improvement in the nomber and quality of game (half life alex,)
Nice video... It's unfair on how things have turned up to be due to the recent world pandemic things has been so difficult, This isn't good in the sense that it ends up addicting the civilians financially in different angles of life. We see complains here and there on social media from different people in different parts all round the world The government has less or no time for there people anymore..I suggest that we all should engage in different things to make money and stop hoping on the government....I'd strongly advise any newbie in trading to seek help from not just any trader but an established trading expert.

Epic Clips ---- Apple has a billion customers and growing. Anybody who thinks (like the narrator) that this is only going to sell 250 thousand in year one, have no idea what they are talking about. It will sell many times more. A thousand dollars for a device like this is not "just for rich people". Remember they sell tens of millions of iPhones at that price point and higher. Apple has more money than God so they can afford to do no interest financing and that amount comes out to about $40 a month over a 2 year period. Dirt cheap. Laptops in that price range are gobbled up by everybody including tons of students, hardly "rich people".

I find it hard to believe that a device released in the next couple of years will be capable of pushing 2 8k displays, let alone rendering 3d in 8k x2..
Why are they pretending "it's been in the pipeline" and "no one has pulled it off"? Like, does Quest 2, Vive, Pimax or Varjo not exist in their alternate universe? NOne have quite pull it off!!!!!!! Have you tried oculus or vive! They are great! Non of those are new thing it's good but not revolutionary like you say, Almost Any 6 degree headset give you amazing experience and days of fun! Appel policy on game are also not to compatible whit the vr mindset of exploration and compleat wacky freedom ...( like vrc) No Appel vr is most likely just a good pub for vr Also right now it seam to be heading for company not public so most likely none of us have the money to by it...
If the design comes close to what you show here, it will be a success for this generation of the gadgeds. By reducing the clunkiness, it's a step up. The more-or-less ultimate goal, as you know, is to integrate electronics into contact lenses with small laser beam generators. These write the image information directly onto the retina in the user's eye.
Plus for what we know now it's nothing new to the market, look similar to a pimax to me cuz the biggest thing they got going for them is the 8k... alsow knowing Appel it probably won't be great for gaming and be pretty restricted

So I don't want to shit on everyone's happiness with apple bringing this into the mainstream.. Apple plans on charging about... 4-6k for it This is of course likely to change, but working internally at apple has shown that they're likely going to HEAVILY overcharge for it we're talking a mid-high 4 figure price point.

I see this as another Apple eco system device. Stand alone its good however, if you pair with airpods pro its better however, if you have an apple watch its better still. If you own an ipad your family can play with you as a non vr player however if you have an apple tv you can play party games. So on and so forth. With that being said since I own every apple product out there, I am excited! :D
lol, you kinda nailed it a good experience, but would be so expensive for most to have all these Apple branded products. Would be nice a more open platform solution, that you could pair with the eletronics you already have.
most of thos option are alredy acecibel whit the htc valve index. -tredmil (in working) or katwalk, -heptic suit for toche, -full body traking, -we almost got smell but it got outlaw in us wher it was beang work on.
What are you on about mate? The VR space is well serviced with some amazing tech, Oculus quest 2 is one case in point. Apple may improve the space but by saying the tech is clunky and not very good is total BS. Some of the games that have come out in the last 6 months have been really amazing, Half life Alyx is just one title I could mention. You need to rethink this video and do some better reaseacrh sorry mate.
Man, so well said! i mean they dont bring anything new to the tabel, my qust 1 has 1 year and just started to bug, and i have bean hard on it! drop, slam reamot, hour of use back to back and stile work very well, they have f**** finger traking man! nothing needed! video game whit no remot are posible and exist on that platform!
I agree that VR technology is much better than this article suggests. But everyone loved their Blackberrys until the iPhone came out and revolutionized smart phone technology. Let's see what Apple offers in VR. It could be amazing.
