Nice to see your use case for the Studio Display as a fellow owner. FYI only one of those four ports on the back of the monitor are thunderbolt. The other three are just USB-C, so if you have multiple thunderbolt accessories, you'll need some sort of a dock. After trying several options, the CalDigit TS4 dock is superb for this purpose and does all the things needed for me with a single thunderbolt cable going from the MBP to the dock.

Just another 400 US dollar for a TB4 dock, oof 😅 The price would actually be better if it did include an integrated TB4 dock.

Do you hear High-pitched buzzing sound/noise from your Apple Studio Display?

Thank you very much for this informative perspective. Being in a similar situation and also the owner of a MacBook Pro 16, I have purchased this display a couple of days ago. However, I am not sure if I will keep it. My main concern is the following. Working with Apple's 'Numbers' spreadsheets I notice that sheets that I have created for the MacBook screen now appear differently on the Studio Display. Now, more tabs can be fitted and seen on the larger screen and there is so much more room for additional columns. However and after returning to the MacBook screen, to be able to see the extra columns I now have to either scroll sideways or reduce the entire spreadsheet size, minimising the font to an almost unreadable state. I hope that I am making sense here and that you might find the time to provide some practical advice (?).

It could be a scaling issue. I don’t typically use numbers so not an expert on how that program operates sorry!
