I have just bought my first apple TV, I am very impressed. It is a more locked down system than my Android Minix U22 box but for those that want something that just works and has a great picture quality and smooth interface the Apple TV is excellent.
I'm not a fan of the new Nvidia pro remote either. Their first one was simplistic and did its job. The common problem with the first generation of remote for the Nvidia shield is that it abruptly just stops working even with new batteries. I've purchased several different versions for my Nvidia shield over the years. Nothing beats the first one. Now if they could just fix that stupid problem where they just don't work anymore. Apple was going for the simplistic design which truly makes it easy for you to navigate without looking.
I own both and I’m actually returning the shield. Might go back to it on the next version of it but with all the issues I had with my shield and Plex. I’ll take the downsides of Apple for now till shield becomes a bit more polished. Audio was noticeably better on the pro. Looking forward to refinements of it
If you have a high end theater , the only choice is nvidia shield.. It supports all the audio codecs that you would need. For some reason apple does not support alot of codecs even though it has enough power.. This review did not touch on this at all..
My kids can’t get enough of the Apple TV for gaming and other great games. I had one when they first came out which wasn’t impressive. Now the Atv is much more upgraded and very easy to use I’m glad I went for this option. Picture is awesome I’ve got all the great link up with my other Apple devices. Down side I have to turn it off now and again. But boots back up very quickly
Do people press the button without holding the remote?They always holding the remote(Nvidia Shield tv) when pressing the button.I own Nvidia Shield Tv Pro, the remote is just fine.
Can you use voice commands to open RU-vid on specific video on the Apple TV? And how’s the iptv apps? I have the shield and I’m think on getting the Apple TV
Yes, you can open RU-vid Videos with voice commands in the search and you can search from menu. İ tried Flix İptv app and it was ok for me. But on Shield there are more iptv apps.
I own both systems i love the apple for streaming, the picture quality is way better than my shield seems apple has a smarter ai upscale for content but the shield is amazing for gaming like its a beast in the gaming department the graphics are amazing for such a tiny machine although I’d wager if Apple opened up their system more and allowed at least the steam app it may be comparable lets see what the future holds
AND STILL ONLY THE 4K FIRE STICK PLAYS MMOST PLEX VIDEOS WHEN OUT OF MY HOME. AND ITS 49.99 OR 30 POUNDS ON PRIME DAY. I OWN A SHIELD AND A APPLE BOX TOO .
After playing around with the shield for a few hours, conclusion is it’s completely garbage, a 2nd generation 4k firestick out performs this, it’s hilariously bad, I’m returning it
The remote would be fine if they don’t make it such a pain the ass to take the back off. Just slide it off like every other remote. Like why they thought of that. And the batteries don’t last long at all.

I love both devices and own them both! Shield is better if you want to download whatever you want! Stremio and Kodi and jellyfin etc! Apple is better if you want a better streaming experience. I think IPTV even looks better on the ATV. DTS and amazing gaming on the shield and Dolby vision and HDR+ on ATV so a fair trade off. So they are both great for different reasons. And yes I like the remote on the ATV way better. The shield remote is a pain in the ass. And batteries don’t last long.
The 64 gb of apple tv does not have ethernet port?what the hell.Force people to buy the 128gb with ethernet port,if people preferred to connect with LAN cable.There's no option.
got both of these....just got the apple tv yesterday. And for the price, it ain't worth it. the remote is finicky and slippery, there are no ports ( hell they've even taken away ethernet ports!!!) codec support is lacking, performs just as well and the setup was easier for me on the shield. image and audio is better on the shield . But will say one thing, the apple doesn't have any app stutters....but that comes with a caveat, half of my apps on the shield are on removable storage so that could be the reason why.

@@michaelwright1602 I have the 2019 it's been awesome so far, I originally started with Formular z11 pro max now that one did give me issues even though I really did like it, it was new at the time but I heard it's been better now that's it's been out a while longer, before the shield and the z11 I used the Amazon cubes which are good i still have 2 im my other rooms, what did you end up getting
@@michaelwright1602 honestly most of the people that take the time to put bad reviews are unhappy people so I stopped looking to much into them and giving things a try for myself since everyone else issues could be caused by different issues

No more crushed blacks!
You're right! I actually didn't know that when I recorded the video. however, this is still very complicated on the Apple TV. Maybe everything will be easier if Apple has to release alternative app stores if the EU dictates it. 😂
@@nelsonmendes7551 Okay, I don't have any experience with the shield but do not experience any problems regarding dark scenes, did with the 2017 ATV but not any more.
I don't buy Apple because Iam not using Apple phone or any other products and I can't use all the features of the box , and I won't use Nvidia Shield because is really hard to download the simple applications , you have to do sideload Wich is so painful most of the times
