Haha. I actually had lasik not long ago, but before that I was near sighted probably because of all the time I spent looking at monitors, so I could see stuff very close but not far - Max
Its the convergence dilemna, not camera quality. Meta solved this with prototypes that physically move the screen to a more comfortable focal point. Their latest one has no moving parts at all.
I’m so glad somebody in the mainstream tech world is thinking about having that zoom feature. I would like to see the entire Magnifier app ported from the iPad over to the Vision Pro because it’s got some special features that I use as somebody with a visual impairment, it would be nice to have access to those features, hands-free, especially being able to point to something and have it read aloud.
The camera quality for pass through has been a significant downside for me. I primarily got this to be an alternative to a real monitor when using my Mac. If I don’t have really good lighting, then it is really hard to see my Mac keyboard. It can be difficult to do simple things like see the USB port and easy plug in a cable even with good lighting.
2:20 "that's not how cameras work" is not the reason. If you try looking at near objects with one eye closed, it actually becomes clear. With two eyes it becomes blurry. It's called the vergence-accommodation conflict. It's how our eyes work.
Completely agree with your list. I also agree that not having a a way to make screens heads-up displays is one of the biggest limiting issues. Creating a “Relative mode” where all the screens are relative to you instead of fixed in place. I think a check box on the screen to toggle specific screens to relative or fixed would be the perfect solution, allowing you to place screens and widgets around your environment as well as having some screens always following you (like a clock or music app). I would also like to toggle apps to stereo versus special sound.
The travel mode already allows you to adapt screens to areas in a moving vehicle (planes, trains and automobiles). Please don't drive while wearing one. Creating a relative mode would be more about when you are walking and don't have a static area to anchor a screen to.
The biggest issue may be that it's so immersive and integrated with the user that the programming of their wetware changes - e.g. pinching objects in the real world. What happens after years of use, or growing with it?
@@nixgan6444 i've had it for 2 days now. been using after work. literally can put it on when i get home and not take it off until bed. 3 hours or so. haven't gotten dizzy once or sweaty. i've used the rift s, the quest pro, psvr2, vive, quest 2, quest 1, etc. my main problem is that after about 20 minutes i just feel nauseous and sweaty. they've all collected dust. so far, this thing is so comfortable to use (obviouly you know you have something on your face and there's some pressure there, but that's to be expected). he's right when he says you don't want to take it off. it's really that freaking cool. and knowing all the updates coming and new content, i think it's worth it. the dinosaur encounter thing where the dinosaur comes out of the wall is just mind blowing. unlike anything you've ever experienced in vr. it's like it's THERE. can't wait for more of those!
I just got mine today.. the ambient is very blurry for me. However the apps looks sharp. Is there a problem in my vision or this device has an issue. I mean I cannot see any ambient object HD even my hands are very blurry
I connect a keyboard and trackpad directly to Vision Pro and use them for input for my Mac virtual sessions. Then you don’t have Bluetooth range issues and it actually works much better across the Mac session and Apple Vision Pro apps.
Should I trade in to the 15 Pro Max or wait for the 16 Pro Max? Currently have the 14 Pro which has 92% battery health after a year, poor battery life, laggy and buggy experience and stuttering scrolling.
@@leebeeskee Ok, thanks! I actually did the factory reset and start from scratch again a few days ago, and also deleted some files in iCloud to save some storage, and yeah it’s actually much much better bro! Thanks! But still, I would like to upgrade to a 15PM or 16PM for the battery and lighter titanium, because battery life is still it enough for me. But yeah, storage wise, now I have 30-40gb used instead of 190-200 of overall 256gb on my regular 14 pro for no reason. And yeah it’s much much faster and smoother now and it’s literally feels like a new iPhone now again! Also, I did the settings factory reset a few times in iOS 16 too but for some reason it didn’t help much, but now in iOS 17.3/17.3.1 it’s much much better after the reset! So overall, would you then wait for the 16PM for 1100$ instead or trade in to 15PM for 980$?
I see all these videos of people riding bikes and walking their dog and other activities while wearing the headset. Really? These are situations where you’ll use it?
Apple are paying people to walk around in cities with 'high intent to purchase' demographics. Walk around with this in Paris or London and you will probably get beat and robbed .

@@JimmyInCA even without trying it myself it seemed common sense, like from the announcement I figured that’d be the best way to type. I wonder why not many reviewers have picked up on it besides Marques.
Hi max tech, i just want to ask about chipset between m1 and A16 which one is worth it for gaming cus im about to buy a new unit... Tnx i hope you'll see this comment
my biggest question is would an artist be able to use these? imagine a paint studio, just art supplies and stuff but with the apple vision pro on, you got references, youtube videos to paint along with, etc. im curious how well you can see and if it would be weird to use while painting or doing something crazy like tattooing. if it were cheaper id get one for science and try it out. i cant seem to find any videos from artist either trying to use it, must be that crazy price tag xD
The weight is not solvable with software updates. Front glass cracking can’t be fixed via software update either. And the inflated price cannot be fixed via software updates.
All of those problems are minor compared to the massive glare and lens reflection you get when watching a movie in a dark background. It makes it unusable to watch movies in a theater setting. I was hoping you would mention that.
For us that can work from home this platform is the "Car of the future" If managed right and taken to its potential it will be well worth $3500. Apple seem to have gotten off to a good start!
Exactly the FOV is not an issue though. FOV is fine. The Passthrough is the best as you say, It's about 40% better than the Quest 3. Let's hope Immerced comes out with an AVP app. Ya, the battery sort of sucks. Layered windows yup needs to be looked at, Use Resolve to edit.
Not worth it yet. Check how big, expensive and unpractical were the first mobile phones . I believe in teen years this devices are going to substitute the smartphones
Agrees! A cool product but that's it. Not actually an improvement over current tech to get job/school done. But I can imagine it for some education and that's up to a company or hospital or whatever to purchase. We need to cut the weight from 650g to 100g and the price from 3500 to 500 us dollar. Might take 10-20 years for that. But that's fine. Better late than never.
Hi, is it possible to install World of Warcraft here? WoW is written in Lua, so it should run on M2 well and it is also very well optimized as it launched on 2004 hardware, so dual 4K with decent frame rates might be possible on medium settings. I am not sure if side loading is possible here as Blizzard Launcher is required, but I wonder if the Apple Vision Pro can be used to control World of Warcraft as most of the basic things can be controlled with mouse only, although it was not designed for it.
Great to see almost all early adopters embracing and seeing the potential of this "new" platform. All raising the same concerns regarding its current limitations and also come up with really good suggestions on what needs improving and what solutions work. I have been on the Quest platform for 2 years and I know very well why the Quest is not a good platform for work. Most of the required fixes seem software related so I'm hopeful that Apple, now being the leaders in "spacial computing", will adopt most suggestions for improvement now when they are getting som much useful feedback already at this early stage. If the fixes MaxTech suggests in this video are implemented I can easily see myself forking out $3500 for this device! Let's really hope drops their "Apple being Apple" attitude with this product category and truly takes this platform to its next level. They have shown the competition that it can be done, and that VR/AR is the future of consumer tech which is is a fantastic achievement in itself!
Kind of sucks that passthrough is just a screen showing you what's in front of you. Would be cool if they used see through screens to let you truly see through. Otherwise it doesn't seem like AR as much. I also wish that they allowed multi computer screens. I know you can enlarge the screen, but does the resolution grow with it? Would suck if everything grew too. Also would be cool if you could make the monitor wider or taller and not just at the same ratio.
that would take a complete redesign and probably result in a bulkier headset, as all of the internal hardware would need to be moved to the sides or back of the headset. and yes the resolution stays the same, and you can make a window "wider or taller", you just don't see many people do it.
Ahh the Honey Moon phase. When you first get an *amazing device* you think it's perfect, nothing can ruin it and you will be in love forever with it. Then... You realized, it's an expensive machine, that you either, wasted a lot of money, or you will use it, but will forget the hype. This thing is physics not magic. Physics has limits
For me the main problem are the apps, including the apple ones, like safari, is not a good browser, it doesn't have vr capabilities when going to websites that allow it, also is kinda slower than the safari on mac, and well, it just launch, but still it really needs a low more apps for this to really replace a laptop, and not saying games, it completely lacks of it, and other problem is for data, the only way is by using airplay or icloud, it should had another way to transfer data, don't count the devs kit on the ear speaker, that's not the idea, it should had data capabilities on the battery. Best
Thanks Max tech -I know you are biased towards Apple. But your review also ensures me that apple really has pushed this before it is mature enough. I will wait not for version 2 but version version 3 thee is simply too much hardware that needs to be optimized.
One massive issue that is overlooked is that if you are working for extended periods of time, you actually want to have a still head. If you can toggle between multiple monitors/interfaces while keep a stationery head / neck it is infinitely better for you, neckwise and productivity wise. This might be peronal preference, but when working with a dual monitor I can't stand having rotate my neck to check it. All those screens placed all over the show looks cool, but it is recipe for a very fcked up neck.
Super annoying for bilingual users: It seems the keyboard currently only supports English and Emoji. Makes writing in other languages super annoying as autocorrect will constantly change words.
I still believe people overtime will find themselves using them less and less. A 2 hour battery life isn't great for a device. If this wasn't so proprietary where other people could buy a larger battery at a better price and get more time with it. Maybe even a battery attachment that you can attach to the back of the goggles strap to hold the battery to even get the wire more out of the way when you're using your Vision Pro and having fun?
Most full day video doesn't tell how many times day had to recharge or what battery pack they used to last a full day . Because we all know that the battery life is 2-3hous ..
👍👍video, Public beta (cash to blow) & developer device, point of this is to get the tech an software better for future hardware generations that will become mass consumer devices as they get better FOV smaller lighter cheaper & more functional
Seems like an expensive toy. Glad there are those who enjoy breaking in new products. Hopefully, Apple will provide software updates to fix these issues without charging for them. Or perhaps it’s going to take 10 years to reach “perfection”?? Thanks for sharing your experience.
I do wonder why Apple didn't make the front screen a bit more scratch resistant? Many people when they get done using googles will just take them off and drop them face 1st onto a table and that table may not be so clean and could easily cause scratches. These things as cool as they are and what they do, you thing the outer build quality would be much better for a starter $3,500 dollar price tag.
Not having Final Cut with its small touch targets is a little different to not having iPad Netflix which was apparently was working great on dev units inside Apple until Netflix surprised everyone and ticked the ‘do not support’ button a week before launch. I like much of this channels content but making videos like this with click bait headlines cheapens it.
The Lab Rat version , not meNt for real world usage and applications. Shame they didn't just wait to launch a true finished product 😅 now they get paid for our experimentation
We will lose our humanity and that personal touch if majority start wearing this to do their daily activities …..it’s good if you just restrict it during working hours
The price is great for what tech you're getting. Think about it logically. First Mac 40 years ago cost the equivalent of $7,000 and look at what you get now compared to that!
Can't believe nobody is talking about the lens flare or reflection when watching movies in dark scenes. Is this not noticeable from other people out there? It's so obvious and really noticeable near the bottom.. due to the pancake lenses.
Asking a first generation product to show you the outside world just like with our own eyes seems like quite the ask… for any product. Can we be a bit more reasonable/realistic..?
Firstly, you guys look like PS3 soccer players but at least you keep perfect hair all day, if only virtually. 1) Yeah, that's a re-design issue, maybe next year? 2) Is it definition or just colour/sat etc. - the latter could be fixed with a software update. Sounds like a Zoom widget would be a great addition. 4) After-market battery pouch for the back of the band? 6) FCP would need work but Netflix? No excuse. Though maybe VisionOS should only allow 3rd-party TV/Movie content via Apple's TV App - that would fix a bunch of issues for AppleTV too. 7) Odd omission though taking a call on a Mac is still a pain too - more work required. Looks like some more Continuity work is to be done. Device control beyond just the Mac sounds awesome. 8) Seems like some hand-off is required 9) Interesting that a 'spatial computing' device is having 'spatial' issues. That's a huge issue because it's architectural. Maybe a layered approach with a head-fixed layer over body-fixed layer over a position-fixed layer (interesting on the bus/train/plane) would work but given the issues with basic Split-View & Stage Manager - I wouldn't hold my breath. I often try to explain the Apple ecosystem to non-Apple people & they only kind of get it. This device could explain it all in one session.
It’s high quality product that’s for sure but it’s over priced, it should be around $2500 no more and I know Apple working on Apple vision air for lower price but it less performance I wouldn’t buy it too
I bought one. It's really uncomfortable and the apps are just cheap junk. It is really a shame for Apple. I think they will pull the plug entirely and wait 7 to 10 years more
I have tried been fair but i feel like if this headset was made by any other company they would probably get laughed out the room particularly the price they definitely is a apple bias
