That’s already been possible with VR, but obviously would be a lot better with such a high-end device. Game Awards actually did a couple broadcasts in VR back in 2016/17 I think.

Yeah this has been going on for years with concerts and the such in VR spaces, but here comes the Apple fans to claim they did it first lmao

@@jamesb7924 I haven’t said that, yeah it has been done with vr in the past awesome, but not at such level of fidelity and immersion, most vr headsets have lots of compromises, resolution, they’re tether to a huge pc, requieres a lot of configuration and set up, love it or hate it, Apple excels at user experience, the set up and use it’s gonna be as simple as taking a walk in the park. I’m not a blind Apple fan that doesn’t see flaws cause there are many but there is no headset in the market right now with this level of sofisticación and polish and tech and that is a fact, maybe the hate towards Apple will make you say otherwise but that’s your problem. The truth of the matter is that this device will spark the mass adoption of xr products in the market and that’s a good thing, but since the product comes from Apple you’re gonna hate it regardless of how good it is, don’t worry the company is still gonna be on the market you hate or not. And yes the price sucks but we’ll see how it comes down.

Yea, this is the best thing that could happen for the landscape. AAA VR was starting to die and we would’ve been stuck with Meta only.

you could say the same about flat gaming: only now it's good enough - have you seen what games looked like 20 years ago? And of course, be prepared for brats in 20 will disagreeing with you. anyway, if you start gaming rn you missed a lot of great experiences that were not good enough according to you. Instead of Super Metroid, MGS or Zelda OoT you have Fortnite and Palworld now that tech is finally decent enough. Have fun with that!

@@VRnamek We had no choice but to play on a flatscreen though as that's all there was. Our imaginations did the rest. Tbh it was the psone that was the big breakthrough from what we had before. I feel like quest 3 lvl standalone could be the same point!

The hardware even a Quest 2 is already superior than any flatscreen in almost in everywhere which the only downside is ruining your face and uncomfortable of the lenses and motion sickness. The real problems of VR are the software and support which is still meh with all the vr games are just a basic gameplay or downgraded because developers is afraid or lazy to make full use of the vr potential

that's on Nintendo, but not expecting any full VR gaming in this. Btw, I've been enjoying high resolution 3DS Metroid Samus Returns on big virtual screen in my $300 2020 Meta Quest 2. 3x less resolution, but much better games than fruit ninja

I was curious about that - you may be right. I do wonder what FPS is of the video feed tho, I think it’s between 80-100 fps.

No small task to your point but what if you had front row seats to pro sports or concerts? As Americans we pay such outlandish dollars for entertainment… I’d Laos say business applications for training could be invaluable. This is me being more hopeful as an apple investor than someone w real knowlege.

VR hardware wise is the best tech we ever had in this century, the real problem is the lack of decent softwares/games

This is what I was hoping to do as well too, but apparently you can only have one mirrored screen from your MacBook at launch, but I’m sure third party apps will get around this limitation soon enough

You're not the target audience for this product. The $3,500 price reflects that. This is meant for developers. Not average consumers.

do you own car? nice screen tv..something something thats more valuable than AVP? if so..use that same formula you used to buy those higher priced items and buy avp if its something you want like how you wanted those items.

@@commentwar4802 I think Apple's advertising is (1) to inspire developers with their idea of where the Vision Pro could go, and who it will be for, and (2) to make the average Apple user start feeling a little jealous that they can't afford the fancy new tech, so that when a cheaper version comes out, they feel a lot more ready to jump on board.

Quest 3 is a great supplement to a psvr2

From an I.P. perspective I don’t see why Meta wouldn’t bring Beat Saber to the Vision Pro considering it’s on the PS VR2. However, from a practical standpoint unless Apple comes out with controllers (which they probably won’t this generation) I find it hard to imagine hand tracking being sufficient as a control mechanism.

@@jonasking3670 The tracking would be sufficient, but probably not player satisfaction cause it isn’t tactile enough. Punching rhythm games probably would though.

@@Alex_Logan22 The tracking is in fact, not sufficient. Not only is the tracking rate only 30 fps, but unlike with controllers, you can't use IMUs to track where your hands are going to be for more accurate tracking. So it'll always lag behind a considerable amount. Impossible to play Beat Saber with.

All the Vision Pro previews were designed to be neutral. The people invited were hand-picked by Apple and they controlled the experience including any photos being released of them wearing the headsets. So this was never a 100% “real” preview anyways.

One of the primary benefits of full VR is immersion, and I feel like we're reaching the level where studios or individuals would be able to develop and craft potentially incredible games or experiences that take full advantage of VR presence, movement and scale. I don't think MR will be the platform or medium to reach that first, but there are other more current potentially great uses of it such as being able to use headset MR for virtual monitors or a virtual desktop setup.

I agree completely with what you're saying, although I think apple is an exception to those rules. Hardcore fanboys, and there are millions of them, will always buy an apple product no matter what, especially when its a completely new category for apple itself.

100 percent wait it's gonna get a lot lighter and a lot cheaper in the next few years if Apple keeps making these things

Not yet maybe later but the thing about PC VR is that it’s not standalone this is a standalone device

VR definitely have more potential than anything flatscreen easily, but the lack of serious softwares/games where most of the games are still a low budget experimental quality style really ruined it. Sure the gameplay in vr really do make up the lack of quality mechanic found on AAA flatscreen games
