Apple Vision Pro Review: 1000 small things = ONE BIG REVOLUTIONARY WIN

This is my review of #applevisionpro after using it for 2+ weeks daily. This device captivated me. I have not expected #Apple to deliver such an amazing first generation #XR product. Is this a perfect device? Does it have any flaws? Will you be able to use it every day? Did it change the way I work?
All these and many more questioned are answered in this review. Yes, it is over 1 hour long, BUT I needed to take my time and explain myself, because this device, this moment truly deserves my time. So make yourself a good cup of tea, relax and let me know what do you think or weather you agree with me.

I know there are many internet kids out there like to bash something they had no idea of. VR/AR as of now might be uncomfortable to wear and still lack enough software contents, but it capable of rendering all the device obsolete that is how powerful it really is and people just hate whatever they are not familiar of that's why I don't listen to internet comment for a very long time. It definitely 100% is revolutionary because if you found the actual fact that it does a lot of things that is impossible with other devices is enough to earn that title. If it isn't then the term revolutionary is just a myth word

AVP is a good product with many trade offs (which you didn't discuss). Based on other reviews, it's compatible with quest 3 which is 3k cheaper. For the future of this product, I hope they will address the "bad things" and most specially the price. And for you, please include the "bad things" so this will not sound like a marketing strategy. Just be honest and don't justify your spending on this product.

@@SimpleLife2.000 I own a Quest 2. Best $300 I spend sure is not the most highest spec ever which is still limited as a gaming focus with not that good softwares library with some worthwhile apps, but I get to experience VR and learn what it can do as effectively that any other devices could never even do with even higher specs and more cameras. With Vision Pro, they make UI where you can open 20 + plus screens/apps that is reziable and can place anywhere which other older headsets haven't done anywhere close. Yes there are many kids creeping around the web bashing the tech because they have no clue what it is and the fact they comparing it to 3d glasses, Nintendo Wii, and Ipad is certain fact that they don't know whay they are talking about

I purchased it and I love it. It reminds me of when I bought the first iPhone, and no one around me had one and even when I explained it to them, they still couldn’t understand until they had their own. I only use mine for entertainment purposes, and wouldn’t give it up for anything. I actually look forward to getting off work so I can go home and use it again.

It's unbelievably good. I still think most people are not ready for this product and the promise for the VisionOS v2 is huge. I hope that they add more immersive experiences over time, It's been a month and we still only have the first episode only.

Absolutely agree that Apple wanted to test the public’s reception of the external battery unit in order to eventually offload all the computing externally and shrink the headset. Initially connected via cable to an iPhone, then via streaming. In my opinion, the final idea is precisely this: a small headset for daily use that works in synergy with an iPhone. And, to achieve this goal, they initially unleashed a performance monster to make it appealing to the masses.

I have been truly shocked by the cesspool of paid agendas masquerading as “AVP Reviews” I’ve seen. It’s expensive yes, but that is nothing new for state of the art, limited supply, first generation product and the price is certainly no excuse for the lies, misrepresentations and disinformation being heaped on this product. If there is micro debris on the lenses do you recommend using the Vision Pro polishing cloth to remove the debris or something that’s sticky that will pull the debris but not damaged the lenses? Exciting view of things Inspector Somnium Space😛. In a few things I see it like you, but the form factor has to change for the mass. Specialization of headsets is elementary but only until you can build a device that can cover both form factor and functions. Outsourcing the compute unit is an important point to improve the form factor for the time being. From a technological perspective, the Apple Vision Pro is a masterpiece. But only the core understands that, the mass has to be introduced to everything first. They are overwhelmed with such a device. I'm looking forward to seeing what you achieved with the VR1 in comparison in the next video. Things are slowly getting serious and the marketing mode has to turn into a good, powerful PCVR headset that excites the community. You know that you have strong competition. You will have to make compromises and if you manage to implement the CA hardware fix you will have a winner for further subsequent devices. I hope you succeed. You can see for yourself that a trillion dollar company only cooks with water.

I use much heavier VR headsets, so I don't see a problem with modding. But seriously, I want the glasses form factor simply because I can enjoy content on a large screen when traveling by train or plane without looking like an idiot. The pressure points on the face caused by the face gasket are also not great in everyday life. I have now switched to the Bobo Strap solutions because they allow me to wear the standalone headsets floating in front of my face and if I want immersion I just put the facegasket on it. A concept like this would even work with all front-heavy VR headsets if you simply balance everything at the back of the head.

There is a big dealbreaker for me and id be happy to learn this is not the case but as far as i know u cant connect the avp with a managed macbook (with a work apple id) which would mean that i can use it only for entertainment. Also part of the same issue is that you can have only one desktop from your mac. Yes you could install stuff like teams, outlook on the avp itself but this wouldnt help since these apps need to run on my work mac in order to connect to the company network.

As often is the case with apple, function follows form here. It should be way lighter and less 'impressive' looking, because guess what, you can't see it when you're wearing it. It's WAY too heavy, like the Airpods Pro Max. They focussed on aesthetics rather than usability and with a VR headset weight and size are extremely important. There's also no hinge on the front, so you can't angle headset for comfort. Quest 3 is far, far better. Interesting prototype for sure but that is all. Also no games at all which is insane.
@ArturTechTales

Completely disagree. If it will look bad, if it won't have eyesight etc it won't be socially acceptable and will never become mainstream.
@sharonb.9128
@sharonb.9128 3 месяца назад
You do understand this is your opinion right? It’s definitely not a fatal flaw. Many people have reported they can wear this headset for hours. If it IS heavy it can be easily corrected for the user with a different headband, just like many users did with the Quest. It doesn’t even need to come from Apple, I understand the Quest has a vibrant 3rd party headband market.

An excellent review will reveal not only the good side but also the bad side. If a review only tells you the good side then this is not a review, it's a sales talk. The greatest trade off of avp is the price. Quest 3 can also do (almost) what this product can at $499. Most of avp features already existing in other VRs, except for eye tracking... But for 3.5K? I suggest you discuss also the whole trade offs having this product and not just the good side.

I'm genuinely happy that you are enjoying the Vision Pro, but as someone who has used it also, it sounds like you are dismissing honest opinions out there, like it's weight. It IS heavy and as much as I liked the crispness of the display. I was relieved when I was able to take it off. The materials and technology built into the AVP is second to none, but the latency when playing a fast pace game like synth Ryders IS present. I also understand that having the M2 in the headsets doing the heavy lifting was not conducive to allwoing it to run native desktop application, as they would have had to deal with heat disopation, but having to connect to a MacBook to do the heavy lifting leaves the M2 underutilized, which is really unfortunate. That alone imho, is very disappointing. Having to carry around not only the battery pack, but MacBook to run applications only available as a desktop application, doesn't make it very portable, does it? The AVP is a phenomenal headset. Build quality is above reproach. Media viewing capability is exceptional. I didn't find the AVP revolutionary, but rather evolutionary. It combined and executed what it was MADE to do, extremely well, but there is not a single thing about it, that is a inventive. The eye tracking, hand tracking, high fidelity micro-oled displays, etc, already existed. It is a great device, that if you're honest, is definitely a step forward, but not even close to what a HMD needs to be for world wide adoption. The AVD is just a step, like all other headsets have been before it. I hope you don't find my comment, (albeit long winded,) offensive, because I liked hearing your opinion and enjoyed your perspective.
