Apple Vision Pro: Your Questions Answered! 

to be clear: Apple Vision Pro does NOT support a "mouse" only trackpads.

One question. If an iPad is connected to a MacBook via Sidecar either by a direct wired connection or by the wireless connection - AND - AVP is then connected to the MacBook - will the system still display content on the iPad display when the MacBook's display is blacked out by the AVP's virtual MacBook Display? Really curious.

Do you see any scratches on the front glass now that the device has been used for a few days? I'm sure you are gonna be extra careful with it, but I'd like to know if there's any sign of wear and tear after a week or so of normal use.

An app omMac app store become available on the ipad if developer enables it. Does it make the app also available for AVP?

Are there any programming apps available in the app store? I would love to code HTML and CSS, Java, and/or C++ in the Apple Vision Pro using a Magic Keyboard, but I heard vaguely in another video that this can't be done without a MAC.

Thinking about getting a MacBook to use with my Vision Pro. Can I connect to my laptop while it sits closed in another room but plugged in? So if I have my laptop sitting closed behind me or in another room, can I go to control center in the AVP and connect to it? I have a Bluetooth keyboard I connect to the AVP, and would get a track pad to go with it if I could just connect to it conveniently within the avp without needing to go get the laptop and open it up. I know I can walk away after initial connection, but what about if its just sitting closed behind me or in another room?

For my case, solo band was more comfortable because it has the large surface that can use for friction to "hinge" the front part up -- alleviating the weight a little up. I think this is because my back of the head has little to no contour and the dual band's thin back band has no contour to hold on to. I am wearing 33W and will be trying the 22W soon. The longer protruding front (due to light seal) leverages more weight at the front so I'm trying to get a shorter one (22W)

What are the specs for the screen mirroring thing for Mac? I can’t seem to find them

Is there any app or internal way to..... A) Save your recent apps + layout to quickly pull them up again in the future? B) Create custom gestures to perform a user specified function - ie clap to turn on immersive mode plus movie and dim lights? C) Create any sort of custom boundaries - did the demo and when immersed was disappointed it doesnt warn you your hand are going to hit the table D) Customize those error pop up messages to auto-disappear or not appear at all - during the demo tried to see what warning would come up if i put my head close to the table. I feel it took too long to appear and the pop up bubble was jarring and hard to close. Not sure if you can change alert tolerances and notifications E) Connect AVP to a PC for file management / move mp4 movies

I connected my MacBook Air to AVP , Apple mouse and Apple keyboard connected to MacBook Air worked totally fine. and I was able to get a lot of typing without much problem.

Is it possible to fix virtual desktop so when you move it stays always in the center of your view filed? I can't find this info anywhere. Thank you in advance.

Hi, is there a discernible difference between the virtual display of an Intel based Mac versus the M series Macs? Apple claims you only get a 3K virtual display with older Intel Macs but it’s a 4K virtual display on M1/M2/M3 Macs. Since the entire display is 4K on the Vision Pro and you’re only using a portion of it, I can’t understand why it would make a real world difference.

Can I connect an M3 imac to it?

In a FaceTime session between 2 users wearing VisionPro headsets are their personas 3D (stereoscopic)? When you screen share your view in FaceTime, i.e. share your forward facing camera view with someone else on a VisionPro headset, is it 3D? I realize recording spatial video and viewing it asynchronously is an option, but wouldn’t it be fun to go someplace beautiful on vacation and share it real time in 3D with an elderly parent whose health prevents travel?

You can actually go into display settings on your Mac when you’re mirroring to VP. It defaults to 1440p, but you can change it up to 5K

How can I connect a dish to program it via Ethernet?

They do have an Accessibility feature called "Speak Screen". It shows an icon on the top right and will read what is on the window.

If u have an Apple watch u can turn on option to unpick iPhone. Works great with AVP.

If there are marks left on the face the fit is too tight. The seal is not meant to be as tight as a water seal, just enough to block out light. If there is too much pressure on the forehead adjust the band up or if there is too much pressure on the cheeks adjust the band down. The device is meant to feel stable and secure without leaving any markings, it is very possible to accomplish this, but most people are adjust the fit dial too much which leads to the markings.

I’m a big TTRPG nerd but I have to play online with my friends. And I tend to move around my house while I’m playing and talking on discord. Do you think the Vision Pro with my Mac would be usable for that situation? Say with a VTT pulled up on the Mac screen?

I had a demo at my local store, this thing really wow me , it’s the most amazing piece of tech I ever try in my life yet, this is the most exciting thing apple ever released yet, it’s like you have the IPhone, Mac, IPad, AirPod, apple TV and more in one piece of tech, it might not be for the mass public yet, it’s still not perfect, it’s a first generation product, but if you really into tech, love apple products and don’t mind dumping thousands of dollars on it, trust me you will love it Will definitely get one myself This is truly the feature

Can't some just detach the top headstrap from the double loop and saw it in the single loop? Like apple showed it in the promo videos in WDC.

I’ve used almost 60-80GB in a few days, I’m pretty sure if you’re going to have this for 2 years…you might utilize that 1TB. It really can work like a Mac in a way and you can store files on your Vision Pro. I think people should get the 1TB for only $400 more than the base 256GB and have extra breathing room.

Thanks Dan! I have mine, but waiting for my Zeiss inserts. My glass prescription was "expired" by 5 month and I couldn't get Zeiss to make them or my eye doctor to extend it without a new visit (ridiculous)...I eventually bit the bullet and went to a different place for a $49 exam, submitted it and they left China yesterday and I may actually have them tonight. I think there will be tons of software improvements coming to fix a few of these weird things. And I just can't wait for the technology to take a massive leap and for our entire field of vision (or at least a LOT more) to be filled with this. Ready Player One style. As a guy who got the original Oculus Rift and then a Meta Quest 2 maybe 2 years ago, I totally understand the novelty effect, but it's ok. That's just how it is. For me, not a reason to not get something cool. Watching movies may be the big draw for me....we'll see...but so far it's pretty incredible.

If you have an apple watch too, your iphone will unlock if you pick it up and then hold it in the hand that has the watch on 🙏🙌☀️ Man, I can’t wait for the future versions of Apple’s Vision series: they’re finally delving into the space of spacial computing and it does exactly what I thought Oculus should have done; they let you pin things in place and leave them there in your space - your real world contains the locations of things that you do in those spaces. It’s the perfect way to do computing. I look forward to trying the first gen out one day but I am so psyched for future iterations

It’s the light seal that causes the discomfort. I changed my light seal out, and the headset is far more comfortable.

Based on what I've heard, the Vision Pro-optimized Disney+ app also supports "movie mode" ...

Love the concept, but the price is insane to be an early adopter. There may be lots of these used for sale on ebay soon.

For the person who asked about unlocking the iPhone with Face ID if you have an Apple Watch you can use that to unlock the phone when you have the Apple Vision Pro on. I’ve been using that successfully since I got my Apple Vision Pro.
