It's neeldess to say you *think*. It is an evil company. Period. Their first concept was to vote for the hottest chick on campus. If that's not alienating to you as a man, imagine it would have been the other way around. Every action this company ever took, which I heard about as a non-facebook user, sounded like a walled garden for bullies ran by bullies. Corporate capitalist anarchy. Now Instagram looks to me like the same thing for younger women, fashion victims or just simple minded folk. It takes dedication and effort to maintain such a course of evilness and scroched earth. If facebook was a country I'd gladly emigrate, learn a few more languages and at worst join the military again. Truth is the first victim in a war, and facebook started a war against societey long time ago.

Use Adblock or subscribe to RU-vid Premium. I do both. I have a funny story about this, which shows the effectiveness. Years ago I had an argument with a fried, because he was complaining about RU-vid ads, and I was fully convinced that RU-vid doesn't have ads. I thought he got a virus or something. Later I figured out that it was Adblock. I had it installed long before RU-vid had ads, so I didn't notice when they started.

I appreciate this move by Apple. This feature gives us a sense of privacy and transparency. I stopped using Facebook and Google services the day I noticed that the ads were related to my voice calls (even after denying most of the requested permissions).

So our brains have developed auto ad blocker which instantly figures out an ad and just ignores it sub consciously. I have never ever been a fan of Apple. Have never and will never buy any of their products. Having said that, I respect their efforts on this. From the get go I knew Facebook was asking for a lot of my data, and was able to deny them access to as much as the site and app allowed me. I deleted and got off FB 2 years ago and never looked back.

@@Random_dud31 mearly talking over the phone would suggest your calls were converted to text and then sent over the internet for processing. More rational explanation is that (you or) your dad searched for it just before, during or just after the call and those searches and call log between you and him was recorded (the fact that you spoke at that specific time, not conversation it self) and AI deduced that searches are connected to MS Azure so you both (or just you because your father already searched for it) were show ad for it. Same goes if you sit next to someone who is searching for something specific because Android records every WiFi AP you are connected to with the signal strength and also forces you to enable location/gps in order to be allowed to scan for WiFi signals to connect to. In doing so, they have mapped and are actively mapping PHYSICAL LOCATION of every visible WiFi AP on the globe using phones that have location turned on combined with signal strength from your Android to AP and then even when you have your location turned on they will track you just by analyzing signal strengths of visible AP's around you. If signal of AP with MAC address AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:FF is -79 and signal of AA:BB:CC:DD:EE:GG is -68, they can triangulate you within 1m with fairly large accuracy. I think with smart AI they can even guess where tables of the restaurant are located with how many chairs, based on number and frequency of signal strengths of smart phones in that particular location in the restaurant. So when they know you are next to someone who is searching for something while you are next to him, and you have each others contacts in your phones, they assume you are talking about that search at that time and will offer you targeted ad for it.

Ive been using an Adblocker + NoScript for as long as I can remember.. A few years ago I reformatted my PC and hadn't installed them yet, I looked up the price of a cleaning product on Amazon.. To this day, I still see that exact same product *every single time* I turn my Adblocker off and encounter a Google ad😂

Yes, but Apple is far away from companies who take largest chunks of your data and it treats it better. I'm no Apple fan, but when it comes to privacy and data mining it's far better than Google and Facebook.

@@speedywagon4423 exactly. I have a pi hole that eliminates most of it, but that's assuming they are using my DNS, they could easily build in their own DNS to bypass any VPN or pi hole. An IP block would be needed, you'd have to know all the IPs that handle tracking and it could cause issues with other services

@@yogaexe uh I don’t think you understand every fucking individual in India isn’t interesting in downloading another app. Everyone uses WhatsApp in India. So , if you don’t have WhatsApp it’s gonna be a misery . Literally everything happens through WhatsApp and especially shop owners and businesses rely on WhatsApp and communicate to the consumer using WhatsApp .

@Leon Francis Yeah. The thing is, it's become fashionable to just mindlessly parrot hatred for the Zucc. People don't even think anymore. Not that facebook is good; but people are convinced it's somehow singularly evil, to an absurd degree. And they latched on Apple being 'good'. Like, Apple is very very worrying as a relatively big manufacturer of computing hardware which fascistically prevents any slip in their software control. Their software is properiary and they pretend it's their right to enforce that. And... people defend this! A lot of them! Imagine other manufacturers following them on that. Instant dystopia, basically. Meanwhile Facebook... you can just not use it - and install an adblocker.

The only "Social Media" I use is youtube...That said, when I see a pop~up survey I skip and ignore, as well as go out of my way NOT using recommended products etc...Perhaps if people who are more plugged in to social media would go out of their way to ignore whats being pushed, maybe things could change...Just my thoughts!!!

95% of the users today just want to get instagram working on their phones so they will allow whatever permissions Instagram asks for so that they can be in touch with the latest trends. Anyway, I'm happy that I have the possibility to not be tracked. I'm an android user and planning to switch to iOS in a very short time. 🙃

On Android, privacy on your data barely exists(other than 2FA) because the software is made by google.everything you search up or do on android turns into advertising on other google products such as RU-vid.also all the apps on the OS won't even work until you grant the permissions(doesn't allow you to deny) which is what apple is focusing on.IMO apple is making it to where there's no reason to use android in any way shape or form.on a security standpoint,android has no chance.

@@andromeda9340No, this is not entirely true. You can run custom ROMs on Android that are devoid of Google's services. Even if you are on an iPhone and still utilize Google services and search, your data will still be harvested in one way or another.

Steve Jobs was no innovator lol. He is nothing but just an salesman. So like every other salesman his only philosophy is to deceive people into buying their product (which is really easy considering how stupid an average human is, so good chrisama and some really basic knowledge will be more than enough to target 80% of human population). The actual "innovation" was done by engineers.
