2 Extra Things that I should mention: 26. Apple Watch Series 3 LTE - is tied to your country of purchase, due to limited LTE bands 27. Apple Watch Series 3 LTE - doesn't support roaming. So if you go to another country, you would have no cellular connection on the Apple Watch
Great videos Dan!! I preordered my first Apple Watch last night at AT&T store ....SPACE BLACK STAINLESS STEEL GPS PLUS CELLULAR, AND A TON OF DIFFERENT WATCH BANDS
I was going to get the cellular but paying an extra $10 and 1 hour talk time changed my mind. Plus I still thinking of getting the iPhone X so I need to save my money lol
Jaydinero716 great. Definitely useful. I always made fun of them and thought they were kinda pointless. Nope. There’s a use. Tho it’s kinda gimmicky. I got gPs. I’ve decided to keep it rather than return. Within the 14 days. And I did get a cheap aluminum stand so the cord doesn’t break/bend at the end. Hope you like yours
What I have to say is... yes it is a bit pricy. I have the 3 without the cellular. I LOVE IT! I usually have my phone with me at all times. Two thing I’ll say why I love it because it tracks my fitness throughout the day. And two is because I have a job where I can’t be on my phone and I sneak messages and phone calls!
How far does the non cellular go ? I have s job where my phone is in my locker which is downstairs (under ground). I’m thinking I’m going to need a cellular plan of the Bluetooth range isn’t far enough
For me personally, I have ordered the cellular watch. Because I can't count the amount of times I have left my phone on the kitchen counter or office desk after I have the left the house or office, had to turn the car around and go back to get get it. I enjoy your reviews they are very interesting and informative.
Not necessarily.. it’s geared towards people like myself who don’t want to carry around a phone or choose to leave it at home when running some where really quick. I think it’ll be nice also for when I’m out of range of my phone, in my house or yard etc. brilliant investment for myself! I don’t care about the extra $10 a month. I know that’s peoples top complaint but $10 isn’t bad at all. $50?.. ya that’s too much.
I think I'm probably gonna go for the non Cellular Apple Watch as I don't really need Cellular Data on my Apple Watch. Plus it's an extra £10 a Month to add to my contract. I might as well just go around with my phone at all times
Liberties how it’s only on EE!! I’m on o2 so got non cellular. It is worth the cash. But even if you are on EE which is £5 a month but goes up to £10 a month, I wouldn’t get it anyway. Unless you jog etc. Get some airpods with the extra cash and some straps like I did lol 👌🏼
Worth it for me. I have a series 2 n LOVE IT. However, I hated missing calls while out on my runs/walks n refused to lug around my 7+ on my workouts.. So this is a must upgrade situation for me n I preordered the series 3 n actually shipped my series 2 to Maxback today for $230. If u listened to the Apple Event, it had testimonials from people who the Apple Watch helped them better their life, I fit into this category. I have diabetes n after getting the Apple Watch, I started working out n got my diabetes under control in 90 days using the Activity circles on Apple Watch. I stared walking 12k steps a day, around 6 miles n set my calorie goal at 500. I completed my circles for 100 days straight. It’s changed my life more then anything has in the previous 16yrs.Btw, did I say I ❤️the AppleWatch.
Cory Thayer finally someone else who finds it useful!!🙌🏼 I don’t want to carry around a big phone. I have kids and bags to carry. Women have smaller pockets. My phone doesn’t fit in my pocket. Makes sense 100 times over for me and in my eyes, $10 a month is nothing!
Steven Teixeira Cellular LTE is the name of the Apple Watch connectivity. They’re all cellular but some areas and countries do not have LTE connectivity.
I tend to forget where i leave my phone so being able to locate it using my AS3 is a dramatic+ for me. Also, i really disliked carrying my iphone with me while going on runs 😩, being able to run with my AS3 and wireless headphones is the best feeling ever.
I currently have the series 1 so upgrading to the series 3 with cellular will be really awesome! I like to track my walks outside and not having to bring my phone for possible notifications while walking my dog will be great. Also at my work we can't have our phones out but the boss doesn't mind the Apple Watch for minor things. I'm trying to spend more time away from my phone so series 3 with cellular here I come! I already ordered it :)
Laura B - exactly, Laura. I work in a warehouse, which bans phones because disgruntled employees have left the company and stolen employee and customer data from the database. Understandable, but incredibly frustrating when you have several hours without the phone for emergencies. Countless times I have come back to them important calls and texts that have been missed. Obviously because the phone has a camera but the watch doesn't, my employer won't have an issue with the watch.
As an EMT, I believe this will be a great purchase for me. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve gotten up in a hurry to respond to a call and left my phone behind, which in vital in many emergencies I see.
I have an iPhone XR and an Apple Watch series 3 and I absolutely love it! I’m not a big fitness person, which may seem as if it defeats the purpose of an Apple Watch , but it doesn’t. I do the daily breathing exercises and it is very calming. I do have cellular, however I don’t find myself using it much, I normally don’t forget my phone so I almost always have it with me, but when I do it is very , very useful to be able to still get the notifications and to have the extra storage. . If you’re around my age or even just looking into getting one , it’s super easy to manually pair , I couldn’t get my phone to scan the Apple Watch so I did it manually as stated. Go for it! It’s pricy, yes, but especially if you do a lot of fitness activities it is totally worth it. It really is a little phone on your wrist. I hope this helped you, any questions comment and I’ll be glad to respond :) I’ll be doing a video on my Chanel to go over more of it,because many videos go over hidden or things you may not know about the watch , but don’t go in to depth about the things you do know.
😁Personally, I love the red dot on the crown, I think it's hot. But I'm drawn to things with hints of red for some strange reason but not too much red (so the little dot is perfect for me). 👍😁
I LOVE my 42 mm 3! My girl got it for me and I am still figuring out all the perks. I have the red button on the black watch and it is beautiful. I am outside and active all the time and can’t wait to learn more of how I can utilize all the features- esp GPS. The phone works perfectly and I need yet when I go paddle, along with the texts and emails.
My husband bought me the Apple Watch series 3 for my birthday. I chose the one w/out the cellular because I always carry my cellphone with me & didn't want to pay the extra monthly charge. I found your video to be very helpful since this is my first Apple Watch. Thank you!!
Manny Perez Smartwatches aren’t worth it. Your timekeeping device is useless in 4-5 years when its not supported anymore. A good old mechanical watch will last generations.
Joseph Franco - its useful for me. Personal electronic devices are banned at work. A smartwach is a personal electronic device by any stretch of the definition.
The new series 3 is the way forward & now with LTE integral makes this autonomous! This is the best thing that makes it stand head & shoulders above the crowd!
Just bought the Series 3 apple watch for $200. Took it for a run using a "guided run" in the Nike Run Club app and LOVED it. I hated carrying my phone around while running and the NRC features of giving me my pace, distance run, mapping my route, and coaching me are awesome.
Hey, Daniel, This is Daniel! I have had all kinds of apple products for a very long time, but have never bought the watch, even though I've always wanted one. I just don't know why I'm hesitant to buy it! maybe a video on top reasons to own a iwatch??
Yes I'm Apple Watchless also and thinking should I get one now? What do you use it for, since you love it so much? And don't you think it should offer FaceTime to be really useful? Or is that a total battery killer for such a small device? I love your videos and respect your opinions! Keep up the great work! Thanks!
Some of us don't need a lot of things; but may want something. I don't have a lot of wants particularly, but Im fascinated with new technology. Gotta keep up with my grandkids.
Cerus98 rumored around the time of the series 1 that apple was working on one that would be FDA regulated that could check your sugar just by wearing it no sticking yourself. I’ve been waiting for it to get my father.
I currently wear a Dexcom G5 sensor and use my Apple Watch 3 so that I can see the readout (graph and a numerical blood glucose reading) on my watch screen via a Dexcom app. It’s amazing. The Dexcom G5 does require two actual blood glucose readings (minimum) per day for calibration purposes. Also, your Apple Watch has to stay within range of your iphone (20 feet with not a lot of obstacles between the two, if I am remembering correctly). Hope this is helpful.
You need blood in order to do that. So probably never. That won’t be accurate at all. Next, they have ECG this series 4. Also someone commented blood pressure, not sure if y’all know how this stuff works. Because to me it seems like you don’t lol. You can’t get an accurate reading with blood pressure. Even the ECG will be off and I’m unsure why Apple put it in the new watch claiming doctors can use it, well no, doctors will still want their OWN test done. Lol. But good luck.
Upgraded from my original model watch to series 3 LTE (stainless steel). Not so much about taking calls as it is making a call for help. The cool kids’ Life Alert. The jump in features from the OG to now is worth the upgrade.
Can you enjoy the speed yet not hook up to a carrier? Im not interested in using it as a phone. But, dumb question, if I don't hook up to cellular, that means I have to have my phone w/I bluetooth range, correct?
I like the cellular for my training and weight lifting in the event I have an emergency. Also, I am a woman and having access to help if I need it is well worth the $10 a month to call for help.
I love series 3. I can leave my bulky iPhone at home when I swim, paddle board, go to the beach and walk my dog. It's great for water activities here in Hawaii. I love the red dot too :)
The red crown is visually my favourite part of this device I have the space black with black sport band aluminum casing I personally think it would look good with any casing or band colour It’s distinctive and makes series 3 more attractive by far
Why would you start your video by saying “not alot of people like the apple watch”!? Clearly we are clicking because we as your viewers are interested!!!!!
Mysterious Vlogs I just bought one aswell, do you have any tips on getting the most out of your Apple Watch because I'm starting to wish I didn't buy it
The cellular works baller for me and my husband because we both have jobs that don’t allow phones so it’s our way of communication to get through the day lol
That's correct. But you would still use roaming (a difference cellular network, if you're not in your home country), which the Apple Watch Series 3 LTE, doesn't support.
Question: But if I turn of LTE and use the Apple Watch Series 3 with Wi-Fi & Bluetooth via the iPhone (that supports roaming after all) it should still work just fine? Or did I get something wrong? :)
This is perfect. I can’t have my phone in my office so being able to still receive and send messages and answer quick calls while at work is great. This is perfect for my situation. I just gone my Nike + edition in the mail 10 minutes. Can’t wait to start using it.
My wife purchased me an AW3 GPS+CELLULAR a month ago.. We both had the series 2 when it came out and I can honestly say I’m glad she bought me this...I wasn’t a believer for paying the price for it but it’s probably one of the best gadgets I own. I literally don’t leave the house without it even tho I may forget my phone at times.
I totally agree on the red dial. I have the rose gold watch and it looks like it should be the plastic barrier that they put on the new watches to prevent scratching. I actually thought it was, and tried to peel it off! Thank goodness I quickly figured out that it must be on there for a reason. That is what brought me to your channel was to find out if the red was supposed to be there, however I have learned so much more! Thank you for an awesome, very informative video!!!!!
The intro is to long, my wife was pregnant when I play the video, and the child goes to college when I finally see the first feature you try to explain...
And mate, also, you're estimation regarding some of the features based on your own usage is silly. I get that YOU would have little use for them - but perhaps consider the millions upon millions of people that might.? For example - mountain bikers. I HATE having to take my phone to record my trips - and altitude is a really key metric, so until now, I've had to take my phone. Three of my friends have come off their bikes and smashed their phones to pieces - it's a nightmare. The watch would be a MUCH more convenient choice in this situation - and is MUCH more durable than the phone in the stainless steel iteration. So anyone active - the barometer and LTE support is SUPER useful. Any cyclists, (road and mountain), runners, players of sport of pretty much any kind, anyone who works in manual labour jobs and has had previously no choice but to buy those ridiculous cases to protect their phones.....on and on and on....
I have the series 3 with cellular 16GB ,iPhone X 256. iPad Pro 256 and airpods. I am an official apple fanatic, but is use these each and everyday for home, business and working out. The watch is totally worth having, btw with the AirPods i get more then 1 hr of talk time. I like the videos, keep it up. I didn’t get anything out of it that i didn’t know but for those still new to apple im sure they are helpful.
Thanks so much for this video, i've been looking for a video comparing the series 2 to the new series 3. I went ahead, took the plunge and preordered the new gray ceramic 42mm edition. I currently have the series 2 black stainless steel 42mm and absolutely love it and figured that the ceramic would be an even better upgrade this time around!!
I have the white ceramic series 2, and I love it, even though white really isn't my color. But with a platinum/white Nike band, now discontinued, it looks sharp. Hopefully, WatchOS 4 will keep me happy until next year, when I'll update to hopefully a more major update. Enjoy your classy gray ceramic!
Glad to hear that you love the ceramic Apple Watch Caocao8888 it makes me feel even better knowing that the ceramic is truly an excellent choice! I'm looking forward to watchOS 4 myself, it's almost here!!
@Chowy1 ! I would say yes, as far as the different kind of build material goes.. being: Aluminum, Stainless Steel and then the Ceramic. The bands are all interchangeable so initially those don't matter as much because you can just change them out later on down the road whenever you feel like it. That's the way that I like to look at it. Hope I answered your question (for the most part)!!
I have the series 3 with cellular. I have a dog to walk and hate carrying my phone. If I don’t have pockets it’s a hassle (not to mention picking up dog poop). Now I can leave my phone at home and be able to call 911 if my dog takes off because she sees a squirrel and I fall, I can call for help. I can walk and talk to my friends and listen to music on my EarPods. I can leave my phone hidden in the car if I’m running into to a store to pick up something I need quickly , I can use my watch to pay for it. I can probably come up with 25 things I can use my watch for. I love love it so much (yes that’s 2 loves). Since I’m female the amount of watch bands are endless. From the basic black to bling. I didn’t mention I’m a nurse and this watch is handy. I use the timer to take my patients pulse now without looking at the clock. Ok I’m rambling to much. I traded in an old iPhone and iPad I wasn’t using for credit with Apple and technically got the watch for $63.00. That’s another reason I love it. Thanks for the video.
I ordered the series 3, t mobile charges $15 a month if you have auto pay you get a $5 discount... I will try the return 14 day policy and decide if I want to keep it or not.
I agree with you about how the red can ruin certain colors on the Apple Watch I personally don’t like it at all so you can order watch dots and they actually are cut and colored perfectly for your watch which I love them so much definitely recommend to anyone who has this issue!
Girls don't have pockets like guys do, so having the option to have a watch that does phone calls is very liberating for those of us who have to carry their phones in their hands if they want to receive phone calls. You may not have thought of this!!
$10 more to use the watch on top of the bill you pay to have a mobile phone...that's the deal breaker for me. Apple seems to be catering to millionaires.
I love running and being able to leave my phone at home now. I want my kids to be able to reach me if need be. I rarely use the phone on my watch but it’s good to have that option. Is the best feature ever. I’ve been waiting for the cellular feature on an iWatch and now that it’s available, you bet I bought it!
🤔I'm Still Undecided. 😩 The only reason I was waiting all of this time on the cellular access watch is because I do a lot of outdoor activities (jogging, hiking, kayaking etc) and I wanted to be able to make an urgent or emergency / SOS call without having to pull out my phone (which I might not be able to do if I was hurt or in an emergency situation). But I may wait until the next cellular version so they can improve on it more. Undecided at this point.
I've upgraded - reason: I do think the extra speed and streaming capabilities are worth it. Also, having it link with your carrier so that you don't have to carry your phone with you all the time is a big + for me. Going for a run without the phone, great. Short trips when you run out the house and forget the phone ( I always do it) . Talking in the shower ;-) for me the upgrade is worth it.
I love the red crown, it makes the Apple Watch series 3 stand out a bit more from the others. Like "Hey, I'm the Apple Watch Series 3!". Bit obnoxious, but, it's better.
To me it's not worth it ... With carriers such as T-mobile you will only be able to purchase LTE version which automatically locks you into an extra $10.00 a month + installment fee (Unless you pay full price). I carry my phone everywhere with me so I can care less for cellular LTE! I don't climb high altitudes on a regular so that sensor is pointless! The red dot is a bit corny! The faster processor is the only plus ! Otherwise just apple being apple 💰💰💰
One of the advantages I think of the cellular apple watch is that on a couple of occasions I've gone off to work in a hurry and forgot my phone. So now, even if I forget my phone, I don't have to worry about missing any important calls or messages.
Hey ZONE, where can I find the watch face that Apple keeps leading with? The one with red hands on the dial (and the 4 green dots. It looks like a cross of the Utility and Chronograph but with red hands. LOVE IT!
Was extremely skeptical about the watch when it came out and now can't live without it have the original one stainless steel getting ceramic white 3 on 22nd :)
For me the barometer in the Apple Watch is a feature I've been waiting for and a feature that some fitbits had for a while. I usually don't bring my phone for workouts and a lot of times I do stair climbing as a work out. Now the flights climbed (flights of stairs that is) will be much more accurate.
I have the iWatch 3 space gray! GPS+Cellular and I’m obsessed with it. It’s so fast! And responsive. I’m surprised! This is my first iWatch ever! And it’s definitely worth it !! It’s motivated me to be a bit more active than I was before.
I was never a fan of the Apple Watch but since I heard that the series 3 works without the phone I am very interested. I have a garmin forrunner and it's water proof. I'll go soon and get my new Apple Watch great review
He said that you would probably already have the phone on you if you were hiking because you’d use it for “pictures”. Apparently, I’m not the only one who thinks a phones most useful feature is the camera. Watches have been around for years and people like wearing them. In fact, you see people wearing bracelets that don’t even do anything, however, you’d be hard pressed to find someone carrying around a useless phone. Why? Because phones are not convenient! If it wasn’t for the camera, I’d never want to carry around a phone. If you need access to a large screen, then, you can go to your car or wait until you get home. Mark my words. There will be a time when people start thinking that it was silly when everyone was carrying around a computer screen in their pockets.
Some interesting facts there I did not know. I like the idea of an Apple watch with cellular because my primary exercise is cycling and it would be nice to not need the phone but still have the ability to make an emergency call. Just not sure its worth an extra $70 for the watch and $10 per month for service.
