Here's a simple answer: If you are an iPhone user, pick the Apple Watch If you are an Android/Samsung user, pick the Samsung Watch Comparing these two watches is like comparing apples and oranges(Pun not intended) and is certainly not a fair comparison.

Sachin Ramanathan as for me I wanted to switch to Samsung but I already own an Apple Watch so I needed to know if the watch of Samsung is in the same level as the Apple Watch so I can switch phone and watch without any inconvenience, and apparently not. So I will keep my iPhone just because of the watch. :)
I have been wearing the original Samsung Frontier watch for about three years now. I work construction and other than changing the band once it has never failed me. Love the Samsung pay and I use it every day.
To be honest, I feel like this is an unnecessary comparison. The Galaxy watch is amazing but also very limited on the iPhone to the point where the Apple Watch has way more functionality to even be comparable. The Galaxy watch does great on Samsung and also good on other android devices. I would like to see comparisons to Galaxy Watch vs Wear OS watches.
@@Stevenmc8602 Just the overall experience is so much more choppy when compared to the Apple Watch. As you said it isn't as seamless on iPhone as it is on Android so why even bother? Of course there is a significant price difference but in the long run, I feel like Apple Watch is better for iPhone and Galaxy Watch/Gear/Wear OS for Android

This comparison review is inaccurate and biased. Saying it's a half baked product then complimenting it for being $200 as if you were getting a premium product makes no sense when pinned against an actual premium product. Or saying it has a leg up on the Apple Watch for being compatible on both platforms yet has extremely limited functionality with iOS makes zero sense.

mkof That's your opinion, which everyone is entitled too. MSRP is manufacturer suggested retail price therefore all businesses will set their price for their products. If the public doesn't like said pricing they will not buy the products, but apple charges what they do and people buy their stuff so what's their incentive to lower their prices?
@@donaldhawkins541 I'm not saying they will. I'm saying apple is making a killing compared to the same technology that samsung uses. I'm saying if they make their products cheaper more people will buy them. Sure they will make less money per unit but they will sell way more and theyll end up making the same amount of money plus alot more people will have one making it an incentive for anyone who doesnt have one to buy one.

What I hate about Apple watch is deleting messages. You have to delete on phone and watch. Samsung Galaxy Active delete messages on the watch and phone at the same time. 200 dollars for sleep tracking, NFC payment, way more excercises and countless watch faces. Also the watch feels so good when wearing it due to the light weight size and the most comfortable band I ever wore. Apple watch is solid but price is to high. Don't forget Samsung also has LTE version watch as well that works great.
sold my Samsung Gear S3 and bought an Apple Watch 4. Don't regret it. I do not know if Watch Active has the same bugs as Gear, but now my trcking is not stopped and the pulse does not show 180 bmp instead of correct 90 (my maximum heart rate is 165 - 59 years old). There are also many little things that are better with watch 4. I bought a small lightweight iPhone SE to bring with me on runs/Powerwalks and can control the music much easier than on Gear from Spotify or from the clock memory inserted songs.
This review is such overkill. Most folks don’t use half of the features on either watch. Most folks just want notifications and some form of fitness tracking.

Mostly true. The Galaxy Watch (not active) is better, and something to consider for Apple users, but overall, yeah, if you have an iPhone, just get the Apple Watch lol.

Okay also keep in mind that the price is not just a happy comparison, it's a factor for the tech it gives you. You're getting $200 level tech vs $400 level tech. The fact that the Samsung active has so much available and rivals a $400 watch (no matter the fact that it's Apple) says a lot.
If you wanted to make a faire comparison, you should have used the Apple Watch 3. A more equal trim package, to put it in car terms. This is an equal price point. With that said the Apple Watch is even more clearly the winner.

I believe the Apple Watch series 4 has stronger points over the Galaxy Watch Active. The Apple Watch series 4 looks more premium and has better features such as the electrocardiogram.

You must have not been paying attention in the video but the host says that the heart rate monitor on the Apple Watch series 4 is much more accurate and conncistant. The pairing between the Apple Watch and iPhone is effortless and watch os on the Apple Watch series 4 is smooth and conncistant.

I have the active watch and wear it at work and at the gym. Not sure where you get a lag from with the connection because my heart rate on it updates nearly instantly.
@@OceanIgs without a doubt. I updated a few settings on mine so I have found it lasted a good, full 2 days. I have worn it for exercise, work, and obvious daily activities. So far I really enjoy it.
I really like both, but price is going to win this one for me. Galaxy watch would be my choice. Now that being said I do wish it had the EKG feature as well.

Valentina Prieto You can not reply text messages, but I do not need this feature because I prefer to answer my messages on my phone. Only free apps, free watch faces and watch-specific apps can be downloaded from the Samsung Galaxy Store and Samsung device-only features are unavailable like Samsung pay. Im an iPhone user and have used both the apple watch series 4 and galaxy active, many of these reviews are very apple biased, yes watch os is a much more developed platform with a faster chipset. However the i LOVED the galaxy active for its fitness tracking the Samsung health app is much better presented than apple health/activity apps, which don't even display max heart rate or your heart rate zones. The charts are much easier to read on the Samsung health app also.
Really I don't see the point in buying a watch for $400.00 who wears a watch for all those features that Apple has it simply a status symbol. I would rather the cheaper galaxy watch just for wearing a watch and save $200.00.
It sounds like the girl didn't turn on continuous heart monitoring on the watch. I had a similar problem with it catching up to my runs until I realized I had it set to measure every 10 minutes. Now it locks on fast and works great.
Purchased the Apple Watch 3 LTE. After the three month free LTE I turned it off. Yes, the LTE is convenient, but during those three months I used LTE a few times only. When I did go out without the phone there were numerous occasions I saw a scene worth capturing. The iPhone camera is the reason I always take the iPhone, doing that makes my need for the Apple Watch not worth the money. That said, the Apple Watch 4 LTE having EKG capability makes sense owning. Looking forward to learning about the Apple Watch 5, what capabilities in addition to EKG will it provide. Please, when you are talking cut out the background music. Be aware, we came to hear you not music. Many folks have hearing difficulties, so fighting the music makes it difficult hearing and understanding you.
This was actually kind of funny to watch because it was clearly biased. The apple fanatic was amped about the series 4,& gave almost no credit to the Galaxy Active. But that's just how humans work. They like what they like.

I’m an Apple user so I have the series 4, the 44mm I love it..I do like the Galaxy watch, I love the round bezel compared to Apples square. I tried using a galaxy watch with my iPhone and it was pointless..the only thing I could do was answer calls and only READ texts
They do have some valid points, though it is not a fair comparison, since these watches are at different price points and came out in different time, in the case of galaxy watch active it is marketed as a budget version whereas the apple watch is a flagship model that costs around 90 dollars more, some of the features like the speaker or LTE support are cut out because samsung thinks that people don't use them often and thats sacrifice they had to make to keep the price at a very low point
One question that came to my mind on the Spotify part, if you download playlists on your Galaxy Watch Active, do you need to bring your phone along when you go running for example, or would it just play locally?
Unless you haven’t bought a phone yet, this review can be simplified: Do you own an iPhone - Apple Watch Do you not own an iPhone - You can’t even use the Apple Watch. Im a heavy fanboy of Apple, but seriously I think you should just get the galaxy watch active. They even have a Fit variant which is cheaper and focused solely on fitness. True flexibility in your wallet. Save Money.

When you don't put the Samsung Active Watch on at night it knows when you went to sleep and what time you woke up. It just doesn't detect different sleep patterns because you're not wearing it. When you do wear it, it shows all your different sleeping patterns.
for me personally I would have to give it to the galaxy watch active. I just dont see that big of difference between the galaxy watch and the apple watch to pay that much more.
I have the Galaxy Active and its great, but it doesn't compare to my Gear S3 Frontier. If I ever make the switch to Apple, definitely purchase Apple watch.
i have the Apple watch series 2 and it works great for me, the series 4 looks great and i like the idea of the ECG but here in Australia that feature still has not been turned on yet, so i might as well wait for the series 5 Apple watch

I bought one in America so I get that ECG when I live in Asia and that's why it's more special than other's S4 Awatch :3 and I need to seriously pleasure the time I have bein "kinda" special before it gets approved in Asia xd
Honestly I’ve tried both the Apple Watch series 3 and the Samsung Gear S3 and so far I’m liking the Apple Watch better. I ended up returning the gear S3 as my S9 shat out on me so I had to get a new phone and decided to try Apple. Got an Apple Watch Series 3 on sale and only paid $188 for it. Works great for me
The issue I have is I have an android and I love the functions of the apple watch, that being said I absolutely hate apple phones so i don't know what to do.
