I bought the series 9 and you’re right it is very comfortable, and I actually do get a lot of battery life out of it because I don’t use always on display. It’s not a big sacrifice and frankly the display can be a little distracting if I keep it on anyway.
I love my Apple Watch Series 9! I upgraded from the Series 4 because its battery was going. (the battery of my series 4 actually went up with WatchOS 7 which was pretty cool). I love the battery on the series 9! I end the day easily with 50-60% left. If I really wanted to, I think I could get 2-3 days out of my watch.
just want to mention that the Low Power Mode feature has been available for other watches since watchOS 9 as it's a software feature and not hardware locked to the Ultra.
I bought the series 9 and love it! It is replacing my Apple Watch Ultra. The Ultra was too big for my small wrist. I will miss the battery life but I love the size (45 mm case). I was concerned that the gps accuracy would not be good but it was right in line with my Garmin 965 (10.06 miles) and my 9 clocked (10.05). Glad I got the 9! 😂
I just purchased the 45mm Series 9 last week at Best Buy. I got the midnight color with the sport band and no cell option so it was only $30 more than the one you reviewed. This is my first smart watch so I don't have a point of comparison, but I can say I'm enjoying to look and function of the device. I still have plenty of battery left at the end of the day, but I do put it on the charger at night so it's ready to go the next morning.
Just got my series 9. I’ve never had one before and I have to say, I’m impressed. My wife has the series 7 and she can tell how improved the 9 is over a 7.
I am upgrading my Apple Watch 1st generation stainless steel black and Milanese loop. So, yeh, it's been a while, and I feel like I've really utilized my Apple Watch. Because if I were to think about it, I would probably end up buying a Rolex or Cartier. But I decided against that and bought the gold stainless steel 41mm with sport rubber band.
Purchased this Apple Watch Series 9 in Midnight with Midnight Sport Band for a friend to replace their old one that would not work with the Apple iPhone 14 they had to purchase to replace a now obsolete, and broken iPhone. Old Apple Watch would only update to WatchOS 8.8 which will not work with the Apple iPhone 14. They track health, and sleep with their Apple Watch 9. Now have O2, EKG, and updated sensors that will now last them for many years to come.
Upgraded to the series 9, 45 from a series 3. Though I love the watch there are two disappointments. It has trouble getting updated weather and normally the temperature is just blank. I can find no way to get a steps counter on most of the faces. I have to use the Activity face and tap the circles to see steps.
Thanks for the great review, you just made the case for me to buy the series 9 41mm as you reminded me why I dislike large cumbersome watches I was just a bit worried that I might not be able to see stuff clearly on the smaller version but as it's 2000 nits brightness which is double the brightness of my Ninja V which is plenty bright enough for me to see stuff clearly I've decided to get the 41mm version plus it'll save me £30.00
41mm club! I just don't understand why people want huge screens on their wrist. The whole point of the Apple Watch is to spend less time on your phone (and ultimately a screen).
I traded in my Ultra for the Series 9 41mm. Im glad I did, I love the battery for the Ultra but way too big for me and as a woman who is petite. Haha it was like wearing my iPhone on my wrist!
I bought the Series 9 (45 with cellular) as my first Apple Watch. It has had a learning curve but I don't like the band and bug bucks to replace. The band in this video looks really easy to put on and that is a feature I need/want. After a month (about) I find it is becoming a great reliable time saver, very useful and nice. I put the otter cover on it that apple sells and is worth it... but it makes the dial tough to turn... not sure what I'll do about that. I have purposely left my phone at home and was able to still navigate via maps, receive and send email and texting and the phone works .. The speaker is not so good unless I am sitting in a quiet area and I have not gotten any ear pieces yet ... so can't say. I wish the calendar could be set to pop up the whole month ... maybe it can ... ?? so I don't use it.
I have a series 7. I'm usually tempted by Apple's latest and greatest but not the watch. I feel like they have to do something interesting for series 10, otherwise I'll keep my 7 until it dies lol
I bought S9 as my first smart watch. I’m Nurse and trainin almost 5 times a week. Watch is so useful, look decent, comfortable too but nothing crazy. I would say 550€ is a bit too much price and that is only cons for me
I’m torn between series 9 and ultra for everyday wear. At the end of your video you said the 9 was going to be your daily driver. Has that held true? Love to know your thoughts
I love my AW stainless steel series 6 in gold. Next year I want to upgrade from my beloved iPhone 13 mini to the 16 Pro and to an AW series X (in hope Apple includes a new health sensor for the 10-year anniversary version! 🙏). Will be an expensive year…! 😅🙈
I have Apple Watch SE 1 generation and the screen is bright enough to see outdoors and I have the brightness at its lowest setting. Why do people think they need to have screen brightness at 5000 nits
Great video Gary hope your ankles better. IF my iPhone 15 pro max ever gets here (they have till Saturday 28th oct to move it from processing to shipping) then yes i will order the series 9 with the money i save on the phone. HOWEVER if they don’t move the phone by Saturday i will cancel my order and shift over to the pixel 8 pro. I am sick of having to check my account has enough funds for apple to take the money and NOT cancel the order it’s been over a month the longest ever. Plus i am hearing issues of over heating and scratching on the 15 pro max i am nervous i must say but i need a lighter phone and if i can take that weight down even further by using the series 9 watch all the better for carpal tunnel injury.
Personal preference, I enjoy my Ultra 2. The series 9 is a great watch, but if you’re active and a fitness guru, then the Ultra 2 is a better choice if you can afford to break your budget. I’m paying for the durability of the watch. The Ultra 2 is very hard to damage, great battery life and it has so many sport features and it’s basically weather proof, but that’s my personal preference.
Thinking of getting it just got a great deal on selling my iPhone 14 Pro Max for the iPhone 15 pro max ( 14 was acting weird losing battery life to quick Face ID playing up bad choice buying it wasn’t happy with it after the 13 pro max. Which for me was the best smart phone ever). So I’m deciding do i get the series 9 watch and pro air pods OR do i get the watch ultra 2?
I have the ultra I and love it. I do miss the more edge to edge display of the standard series watches. Maybe the rumoured watch X will bring me back to the standard watch?
I’ll buy your ultra 😂 about to get one from Costco because they still have a couple versions of the ultra 1 on sale. The ultra is the first Apple Watch I’ve been interested in since the series 3!
I bought the ultra 2, and tried it for 6 days. but my life that thing physically hurted my wrist by it's weight, 30 grams might not be a big thing, ask my red irritated spot on my wrist. I never ever experienced that with any watch ever, not even a Garmin. (and I have a 7,5 inch wrist!) I really don't know how others get used to this? I love the design of the ultra, but it was just unbearable. And that was with the most comfort of the bands the trial loop??
@@bogdandinu503 No, there isn’t a big difference at all. I only use the finger tap gesture to get rid of notifications. They both have the same sensors. The always on display is nice, and it charges fast, but nothing really stands out above the Apple Watch 8.
I'm one of the weirdos that puts a screen protector on my Apple Watch SE and one thing that really bugs me is the edges of the screen protector are often pulled up because of the rounded edges. I wonder how much better a screen protector would stay on an Ultra.
You wouldn’t need a screen protector on a titanium build Ultra or even on a stainless steel model as the materials are so much more durable and scratch resistant than the aluminium model! Same goes for the sapphire glass on the Ultra and the stainless steel versions! Sapphire glass doesn’t scratch as easily as the ION X glass on the SE or aluminium models.
@@brucelin5842 ok what exactly is your point and how is that relevant to my comment? I also have the 15 pro max I don’t understand the dots you’re trying to connect
@@Chitown84 just saying that the cost of using 2 Apple Watch thats almost the same is not worth it in my opinion, but if money is not an issue u can buy as many ultra as you want
@@brucelin5842 they’re not the same tho. Some days I want to wear the bigger bulkier watch and display. Other times I want the smaller shinier one. Also the 9 has better Siri implementation. It is worth it to have both but you’re right money is not an issue so I do what I please 🙃
Definitely not useless. I use it for timers, weather, music, messages, calls, tracking my sleep, podcasts, reminders, calendar, medication reminders, voice memos, Apple Pay and more. It’s so much more convenient than having to pick up your phone to do these things all the time.
