Anyone with an earlier model Apple Watch can use the double tap feature by turning it on in the Accessibility menu. Just don’t gesticulate too much when you’re using it as a phone or you could cut off your caller by accident. (Yes, too many times.)
After 2 days at normal usage, my AWU2 still had 30% juice on my first wearing. Love it! It looks chunky but surprisingly light I don’t feel its weight as compared to aluminum 45mm.
The ultra watches are a waste of money in my opinion 800 for a digital watch is outrageous plus they bout to drop a new one in 2 months 😂it’s pointless
I have bought the series 9 2 days ago waiting for it to come in I had the series 7 I know what your gonna say pointless upgrade but I had the blue one which you can’t really mix different bands with it plus it had a bunch of scratches on it so this 9 might be with me for a while because they keep dropping watches every year with no reason to upgrade to it i feel like they should drop a watch every 3-4 years
I won’t buy a watch without a sapphire display, and if you get the sapphire display on the series 9 now the price difference is only $50 so you might as well spring for the Ultra 2. This gets you double the battery life, the action button, a larger display, a brighter screen, and so much more.
I was looking for just this comment! I’ve got an aluminum series 4 & 8 with scratches all over. And for some reason my series 8 is in worse shape. The series 9 with SS is great but for just a little more the Ultra is the better value.
My applewatch 6 is currently resting at the bottom of the Indian ocean off the shores of Maldives. I jumped in the water from a diving platform and it just came off my wrist. The Ultra 2 I have now has a much more diver savvy band that I doubt can come off in the same manner. The little metal clips can be used to secure it very nicely.
@@Super-c00nalso curious. The differences seem minor between the Ultra 1 and 2. The AWU1 are only $499 for refurbished models. Not sure if the 2 is worth the $300 difference
@@marcochavanne- I get your point, the Ultra 2 might not be worth the extra $300. But I'm a Samsung guy, I've got the Galaxy Watch 6 classic 47mm on my wrist. I'm just hoping that Samsung will put out a watch this summer that's big and bold and can compete with this Apple Watch Ultra 2. I'd love to be able to walk around with something like that on my wrist.
@@Super-c00n all they need to do is put a Snapdragon chip in the Galaxy Watch 5 Pro with a smaller efficiency chip like OnePlus, and they will have your Ultra killer. I have the Watch 5 Pro and it’s a fantastic device, but the Exynos chip they used is janky and not very efficient.
Fun review and personality! The Ultra 2 is half my wrist and looks much better. I still find it awkward on very small or skinny people, despite comfort. I have zero use for the ruggedness of such an extreme watch, but the battery life and size. I'd love a 49mm Series 9+. I charge during the shower and have never run out of battery. Ideally people shower more than 1.5 days, so does that impact people? Maybe. I was also a fan of the gold titanium with Milanese gold band, lots of compliments.

Depending which case you get on the 9 series by the time you add cellular it works out MORE expensive than the ultra2 do your actually getting more for less with the ultra 2 Double battery length Larger screen More accuracy on position Better reception as is capable of receiving signal where your iPhone can’t Action button Brighter screen and more. It’s a no brainer!

They went with this new sip and chose to make the screen brighter instead. Maybe allow a toggle so users can chose if they want brighter screen or more battery life.
Still using a series 5, found every update since then has not been a 'Must have' upgrade and the Ultra model is aimed at rugged outdoor pursuits so i dont need that model.
I upgraded from a Series 4. Previously, I have owned a Series 2. I didn't want to buy another Apple Watch with the same shape and design - hence my purchasing the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Regrets? None. I'm absolutely delighted with my AW Ultra 2 - amazing value for money in my opinion. The extended battery life, the super fast SiP9 chip, instant response Siri and the huge 49mm screen are a delight to experience and use daily. I like that my Ultra 2 is e-SIM ready and the watch is actually a fully capable communications device in its own right (if you get your phone number setup on it by your mobile service provider - usually for an extra subscription fee). I'm still having fun discovering functions I didn't even know this device is capable of.
I am using series 1, so it is a perfect time for an upgrade, and my next upgrade probably will be series 15, if you think not much difference for an upgrade, it means it is too early for your upgrade 😂
@@yong7311 Wait, what? You’re still running a Series 1 Apple Watch? ⌚️ How is that even possible? My first Series 2 lasted shy of 2 years before the screen detached from the watch body. Fortunately, I’d taken out extended Apple Care, so the whole watch was replaced under guarantee. I sold the replacement and bought a Series 4 which lasted 5 years and I’ve just sold! Now rocking an Ultra 2 😃👍🏾 How old is your Series 1…?!! And how come it still holds a charge?!! 😳
love my ultra 2. i’m not heavy on usage of it but i wear it for 3/4 days straight before i have to charge it. i use it to look at time, my rings and notifications. look at texts and stuff
Still battery time 🔋in hours in stead of the days or weeks you get with a real Garmin. ⌚The Apple watch is a good extension of your iPhone but there are better sportwatches on the market.
Garmin is not a smartwatch though it’s more of a fitness tracker. If you only want a sports watch then yes, Garmin is fine, but if you want best of both worlds then Apple is the best to get.

If you want a dumb watch with ugly and hard to use UI, not presentable in social environments but with long battery-life in weeks but great fitness tracker wrist device…get Garmin. If you want a dumber watch with a year or more battery life…get a mechanical watch. If you want great smartwatch with 1-3days battery life, get apple watch ultra. A charging dock beside your bed for iPhone and AW is great. All watches we wear will still be removed anyway before we sleep.
Battery in hours is actually just a claim from Apple. Real life usage is actually 1-3 days and depending on user config and usage, it can go further or only less than a day
This ultra version compared to the first version I say that Apple makes fun of people, already the pinch of the fingers, twice to navigate the applications, this update, could be put on the first generation and the other Apple Watch from the eight with an update. And a brightness rate. From 3000 against 2000 nits it’s not worth the change. As Apple will find sensors that measure blood glucose, it will be a great advance.

Audio is distorted during phone calls. My brand new Apple Watch Ultra 2 makes cracking sounds when I make calls with the speaker volume at Max. Audio is distorted only during normal or FaceTime calls. The problem does not occur when recording or playing sounds from the speakers. It's never been in the water, I haven't even washed my hands while wearing it. It may be a software issue because the Apple Watch Ultra (1) had the same problem and it was solved with the watchOS 9.0.1 update. Apple then had the following note in said update: «This update includes improvements and bug fixes for your Apple Watch Ultra. Audio could be distorted during phone calls using speakers.» I hope that the problem will be solved again through a new update and that it is not a hardware problem. Finally I should note that until recently I had the Apple Watch Ultra (1) and it had no problems related to what I mention.
No no no! Its more on fashion, not good if you keep on charging 1 or 2 days.. im using regular smartwatch, not that clean and smooth but cheap and last 8 days battery.. notification for call and message is enough..
I prefer 45mm series 9 💯👍👍👍 U can buy 2 of it for the price of 1 ultra. Let’s say you’ll buy every 2yrs a new watch, in 4yrs you’ll buy 2 series (9 and 10) for the same price of 1 ultra. If U buy the ultra then it should last 4yrs. Even if it last 4yrs, you only have 1 watch and you’ll miss 4 generations.
AW9 + entry level Garmin (MIPS for more battery) or an AW U2 for about same amount. The non safire AW9 has a more scratch prone but more durable crack resistance. Hard vs flex. Can add a screen protector. Lots of choices at least.
Why no Apple to Apple comparison…? Why no price difference quotes? Why Ultra for only just 2 differences as per verdict? Why you promoted Ultra 2 only? Why you did mention the pros of 9 with cons pertaining ultra?
The worst fail with the Apple watch is the strap prices £49 is just too expensive, id buy several if they were £30 but at £49 i refuse to buy them .. i am sure lots of people are the same.

Definitely not worth the money. You can get better watches for that kind of money. I'm an Apple enthusiast, but Apple really falls short when it comes to wearing devices.
Careful in bath, hot water can strain seals. Shower likely ok. Have original and still works fine. No hot tub. Fried a regular old sports watch once in hot tub.
Do not purchase one of these. I did and they are not refundable for a reason. Mine is a POS and I have 3 other iOS watches, 2 laptops, 2 iPads so you can consider this opinion from an Apple “fan boy”. Ultra II are POS.
