Everyone has to decide for themselves what they need and can afford. I have the Apple Watch Ultra 2 and am very happy with it. But as I said, everyone has to decide for themselves.
People with such low level standards and expectations as you have been the key to Apple's success. I once had the Apple Watch Ultra (first generation), and it was a useless toy with a need to charge it almost daily. How people can accept such an overpriced garbage is beyond my imagination...
You are correct on every point. My Garmin Fenix is a beast and using all functions continuously I can get at least 10 days before needing a charge. That being said, I have the Ultra 2 for connectivity and it’s the best Apple Watch so far.
I probably will replace my AWU2 with the Enduro3 after viewing this video. Great humor and very very good insights. I thought I took everything into consideration when I bought the AWU2, but when I found that my training app accidentally ended, I turned the Submerge in Water feature on for workouts. I wish my AWU2 had buttons. So I will toss it when the Enduro3 will be introduced.
Yes, totally different worlds. My point was not to say that the Apple watch is a terrible watch... But it is a terrible choice if you are looking for a sport watch for serious stuff. Just like purchasing a Formula 1 car. You will loose against the John-Deere in a tow competition in a field.
Two different kind of devices. One is a smart watch, the other one is a sport watch. It's like comparing a formula one car to a tractor. Both amazing devices, two different kind of use.
I love my Apple watch but I enjoyed your review. And you are totally right abut Maps, it could be on device for offline use which is annoying that it relies on the phone. Also it misses to notify some phone calls when I receive them on the phone…….
A Sports watch I don't know but a rugged watch Yes, I fell down from a electric bike at speeds 35Kmh , I didn't see the speed bump and way I go flying and landed on the road surface wounding myself badly that required three stitches on my thighs and multiple wounds, the apple watch ultra casing have deep scratches so does the glass , didn't break and it call the ambulance, I was bleeding and sweating profusely, Love my Apple watch.
It depends on what you do, garmin is better for hiking and ultra long marathons, apple is better for weight training and day to day watch. Both are great in my opinion.
About weight training you must need a 3rd party app. Cause from what I have see it can't be more basic. My garmin does have animated training on it. And just by doing free training, I cas see the muscle I have train on Garmin Connect. I don't know how it does but it's pretty impressive.
Ahah. Well I don't think I will make it. Basically, you can listen to that review : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-1FpYb5mfAEI.html The Tactix AMOLED is the combination of the original tactix 7 with the screen of the Epix. With very few new things like the HR sensor. But I receive a lot of comment about it. I'm mainly limited by my wallet right now. I pay all those watches full price and sell them back with a loss hoping to make a revenue with the videos. 😉
@PascalMarquisUnbox Thank you for your reply! I understand your reasons. I own a Tactix 7 pro and I was curious about the new Amoled. Watching quality Garmin reviews on youtube is a option .You , Desfit and Chase the Summit are the best ones out there ! Keep up with the good work ! Thank you !
Thanks for the informative content! You've definitely highlighted some great points that no one else is talking about!! I used to wonder why anyone would opt for a more expensive Garmin instead of going for the Apple watch ultra, now I know!!
Thank you. Yes I don't know why not so many, or none talk about those points. Even sport watch tester. Maybe because it's not popular to bash on something. Turns out I don't care so much, I just want to speak out what I really think in total honesty. Thank you for your comment. 😉
It's almost laughable, I bought the AWU2 in January and 4 weeks later got my hands on a Garmin Tactix Delta Saphire for a steep discount at a Jeweller. I had my doubts what this 2019 watch could do for me in 2024, but after watching your videos I understand more what these Garmin watches are about and I made the switch. The AWU2 my wife grabbed up quickly. And I haven't even tested the Tactix 7 yet. So there's much to explore. Thanks for your videos, they offer so much value and are greatly entertaining. Cheers from Stuttgart, Germany.
Grabbing the Tactix Delta at a discount was for sure a great choice. Essentially, the new series is just an upgrade from the one you have. You would gain speen, wich is great but at the same time not essential. You got a touchscreen which is in my case always disabled. The major thing for me was the flashlight. But if you never had it you are fine, you don't know yet what you miss. 😉 See you soon in an other video. I got a playlist of tutorial I made over here that I'm sure you could enjoy. ru-vid.com/group/PLtCUXPjk85IJ_ltInv_BeezdLMIMxNDHw Cheers from Canada! :)
@@PascalMarquisUnbox I enjoy your other channels, the hiking videos and the lakes and woods ... my French is a little broken, but feelings, moods and happiness is universal, you don't need to understand every word ....
I agreed on all the points. going from aw1 to aw2 very minimum change from my experience it’s important my local pharmacy requires phone or watch the phone will have all your details & medicine you take, watch not as quick but does work. Final important point LTE well going a jog been able to a quick call on the Go just helpful or get important notifications just a breeze 👍 Final part fitness 😂it’s ok I’m not the biggest fan it’s so basic & boring does it the job yh for the basics Anyway it’s a smart watch with lil sport features 👍best way to describe it
You’re comparing a smartwatch to a fitness watch. They’re entirely different. Now review the Garmin primarily as a smartwatch minus the fitness features.
You are totally right. The only reason I made it is because Apple claim it to be not only a sport watch but one made for athlete who do very intense things like Everest. And they made it so much that I did receive a lot of comment from viewer to tell me opinion on it as a sport watch. I did also receive a lot of comment like ''Apple is the Garmin Killer''... Not it's not, they don't even make sport watch, it's not the same market.
It really depend what you want to do with it. But if you are serious about sport, don't do it. It's not what you are looking for. If you are thinking about a new sport watch and don't know what to choose, take a look at this video : ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE--3uI_AB7lDE.html
You can’t do on the garmin that you can do on the Apple Watch Ultra 2 so I disagree with this guy if you like the Garmin so much then just do a review on the Garmin. Why do a review on a watch that you don’t like you just wasted your time
I did that review because many people asked for it. Of course I expected it not be be a sport watch. However, Apple sell it as a sport watch for athlete that climb Everest. It's a dangerous claim for a toy. That's just a smart watch, not a sport watch. So I did it to answer at my community and as always, I deliver what I truly think about what I test.
Pascal, objectively you are a bit judgemental and patronizing on this one. Let people like what they want to like. The Ultra 2 is the best overall smartwatch, and the Apple Watch lineup is the most popular lineup of watch in the world. There’s a reason for it. You dont like it, then just be it. But let me tell you, there are people way more athletic than you and I who love to train way more than you and I with their Ultra. At the end of the day, the Ultra gives you just enough to train properly, and the data it outputs is really accurate.
I would probably had given a better result if I had tested a smart watch. But as they sell it as a sport watch, that is what I have tested. And objectively, if it's not able to load a map properly (even with my iphone with preloaded data) to take me out of the mountain, if it's not able to work fine under the rain or in a swimming pool or just with my wet fingers... If it's not even able to fully track a single medium to long activity without compromise... What else can I say that it's a crappy sport watch?
I still have to see someone who is not filming himself doing sports that uses an Apple watch ultra for professional sports. I liked the refreshing (may I say sobering?) perspective. Hey look, the king doesn't wear clothes!
I can't understand the big push towards Amoled on sport devices. Well I kinda do, they look so much better on promotional materials and they have this kind of wow factor... but MIP displays are just so superior for actual outdoor use it's not even funny. But yeah, in general Apple is not there if you're serious about sport, it's more like a watch that can do some sport things with plenty of disadvantages that might be OK if you're already in the Apple ecosystem and don't impact you too much. So of course marketing is misleading there but hey, it's marketing, basically another term for "lie department" :)
Lie Department! 😅 I like it... Well not that much but I liked the joke. 😉 It's unfortunate that it work that way but at the same time I don't understand. It's like if John Deer was selling their tractor to F1 pilot and promissing victory. The tractor would still be a great product for farming, but no one would ever win a race with it. So why are your trying to sell something to someone it's not made for? About the MIP screen, I totally agree with you. AMOLED looks fantasctic, but the MIP have so much more to offer in a sport environement.
This one was just wonderful. Usualyoutuber: Oh, lets review the Apple watch but let's not spank it too hard because of the backlash in the comments. Pascal: You wanna make me review this obvious piece of crap adventure watch? Fine, but you will regret it. And I compare it to the absolute endurance beast MIP enduro watch (grabbing the biggest hammer in the shop) Just to be clear, I agree 100% with all the critique points you are very painfully raising. While I think that you could have compared it to the Epix, all the flaws are simply fully deserved and something all the Apple watch users are used to. Thank you for your clear opinion. And now duck!
Ahah!! Thank you so much for your comment. I'm glad you liked it and had fun reading your comment. Yea, I don't care so much about the backlash. What I care the most is my reputation of the guy who really said what he is thinking. I would not sleep well if I was recommending devices that I hate just to make some affiliate sales. You are right a compare with the Epix would have been great. It's the same kind of screen and Garmin did some tweeking to optimize it so the battery last longuer and it work. But I sold back all of my watch and only use the Enduro 2 at the moment as I found out it's the one that suit my needs the best. Thank you again and have a great day Marthein! :)
@@PascalMarquisUnbox You rock, Pascal! This youtube world needs unapologetic and passionate voice like yours. To sell all the ones you're not wearing is exactly what I would do. So yeah, highly appreciated. Your comment also explains why you picked the enduro of all the options. Keep on saying the truth out loud, man!
Seems like you tottaly missunderstood the concept of Apple Watch Ultra and its purpose. The marketing was way off it should have been but you are litterally focusing on what the watch can not do instead of what can. Very straightforwarded review with predefined outcome. Sorry for not subscribing.
I totally understand the purpose of the Apple Watch. And I know that this is something I absolutely don't need nor want. The thing is that Apple sell it as a sport watch... Turns out i'm a sport watch tester. I did not test a smart watch, I tested a sport watch. I know it's stupid to test an Apple Watch as a sport watch because it's not such a device. But Apple made all it's marketing about it, from the Apple event, the sale page and the packaging with very high mountain on it. I just want to help people that are looking for a great sport watch to avoid a costly mistake. In short, because Apple sell it as a sport watch, I tested it as a sport watch.
