I absolutely refused to buy the Ultra because I thought it was too big. But after seeing my local Verizon had some in stock yesterday, I went ahead and purchased one and wow, I love it. The battery life alone is totally worth it. I took it off the charger at 12:30 pm yesterday and I tracked an indoor run and made a couple of calls, wore it to bed, and I've been using it all day today and my battery is at 68%. I will never go back to the regular watches.
1 thing I’ve not seen any reviewers really talk about is the screen size, I’m blind in my left eye & the 49mm flat screen is a game changer! It’s worth it for me just for the screen size I love my ⌚️ ultra
Hope you’re well. I have had my ultra for just over three weeks now and I love mine. I’m not an athlete or diver. I work outdoors and I have ADHD, which for me brings terrible memory. I rely on my watch for everything I need to remember and being so much more durable is amazing. I have already hit the screen so many times on the corners of everything, like normal and not a scratch on it. With my last series 5 I had a deep scratch on the screen within the first few weeks. Battery life is strange, I’m still trying to get use to when I need to charge it, instead of every night. For me the ultra is great
I love mine and it's true, I don't get the trepidation I got with my other ones about damaging it, when I do stuff I feel a lot more confident about it. I use the action button for a flashlight and I tell you that alone makes it worth it, I use it all the time. For example I hung a TV on a wall the other day and needed to see where to plug in the cables and just hit the action button and boom, flashlight on my wrist, no need to get a flashlight or my phone. Love my orange band, wish they made a yellow version of it too.
I loved how you mentioned construction workers in your video; having a sturdy watch on while working on the road is life changing. This watch really excels across the spectrum, and the battery life is phenomenal. Really comfy too!
Upgraded from the series 7, and I’ve been in love with my Ultra since day 1. The battery life is absolutely amazing, and I love all of the new tracking capabilities with the new OS. I recently went scuba diving for the first time, and was so excited to actually use the diving functionality. It tracked it perfectly the entire 39ft that I dove!
Love my Ultra! I kept my Series 4, just in case I wanted to wear something smaller, but I haven’t looked back and wear the Ultra day and night. Amazing watch!🥰
I also have a small wrist and my favorite and most comfortable band is the Nike band with holes in it. With that band, I can have the digital crown facing my wrist. I do have the longest band on the digital crown side and the short band piece on the opposite side from the crown. The increased thickness on the inside of the wrist keeps the watch balanced and then there is no interference with my wrist bone. I also do not need to make the band too tight because the thicker band allows the watch to stay perfectly centered. I wear the band on the fifth hole and it is super comfy and the watch stays in place. I also have the trail loop.
I love my Ultra watch since 19/10/22 . I upgraded from cellular series 6 . I have with trail loop grey/ black and ordered ocean yellow band too for swimming.. I hate alpine loop . I purchased this Watch ultra basically for 3reasons . 1. Ruggedness 2. Battery life 3. Big & clear screen .
The Apple Ultra Watch seems like an efficient device. Its wrapped around neatly around your wrist to ensure that it wouldn’t fall off. The design looks sleek.
The Alpine and Trail loops have sizing. You can check the metal holder of the strap to check what size you're wearing. I have a small size for the Alpine loop and S/M size for the Trail loop and they don't wrap all the way through. Just fits right as I also have small wrists.
I am really conserving getting one for myself, as I am currently in a construction class working hands on building a house from the ground up, and all I can say is my series 7 Apple Watch screen is covered in deep scratches, along with small nicks on the aluminum hosing
0:27 The dial keeps hitting my wrist on the regular Apple Watch too so I'm trying this tip now. As a leftie I think I move my dominant wrist more and therefore have this problem. I refuse to wear my watch on the right arm because it feels wrong 😀
I love my ultra! I’m not the outdoorsy type, but use it to track my strength training 6 days a week, and it’s phenomenal! I also wear it to sleep literally every night, and I’m loving the 2 day battery life I’m getting from it. Since I got it, I had been wearing it so that the crown was facing my hand, but like you mentioned, it kept slamming into the top of my hand, I just switched the orientation of it so now the crown faces the opposite way. It looks like the watch is on backwards, but I hope the look just takes time to get used to 😂 all in all, I love the Apple Watch Ultra ❤️
@@kimberlynunley8881 that’s what I use mine for and it’s perfect for me. I guess it depends on whether or not you are okay with the size of it. For your use case, if you’re not used to bigger watches, I’d recommend the regular Apple Watch. The series 7 is still a really good watch.
@@kimberlynunley8881 I specifically love the ultra for the battery life. I get 2 and a half days easily with sleep tracking and constant workout tracking
Been wearing mine for about a month now. I’ve hit it against stuff already and it’s withstood em all. I love my ultra. My co workers on the other hand think it’s too big and I’m basically wearing a cell phone on my wrist. That’s about the only con I can say, not everyone likes it and you’ll have to hear of how huge it is.
Loving my ultra! I wasn’t planning on buying one until I went to my local Apple Store. I tried it on and was hooked. I upgraded from my series 5 and it’s a night and day difference.
Recently made the swap from the blue ocean band to the black/grey trail loop, and it’s been amazing. GL with future runs! I lost 20 pounds the past year just from running, and the AW7/now Ultra has been a great help. Setting up your own training for intervals (like fartlek etc.) is so great.
It's my first Apple Watch. I got mine 3 days ago. I'm loving it. It's extremely light for it's size and the battery won't stress you at all. I charged it during shower and it never dropped below 70%. Epic
Love the Ultra for all the same reasons but absolutely hate it for sleep tracking. I ended up picking up the SE 2nd gen to use exclusively for sleep tracking because it’s so much lighter.
Love my Apple Watch Ultra. Basically can wear in any Occassion. Bought the trail loops and alpine loop in addition to the ocean bands that comes with the watch. Also bought the Nomad titanium metal band for more formal occasions.
I bought the 8 and kept wishing I had bought the Ultra. Only for competitive athletes…blah blah blah. It is for anyone and everyone. Soon after that I ordered it and have loved it ever since. Battery life is amazing. I have worn each of the bands including my 45mm bands. Use my action button for shortcut Shazam for right now but also for walking. Now I know I will never go back. 😃 Also wanted to thank you for the vid on the Columbia Omega heat clothing. I went out and bought a new winter outfit! Thanks to you I will be toasty warm shoveling snow this winter in Virginia! ❄️
Time to convince my mother that this amazing woman did this and she needs to buy me this... Lol. Also wow, those vacation clips looked amazing...I'd love to go there..
I have worn all my watches that way. I love my Ultra. May not use all the features but the size of the screen, battery and the action button is one of the reason I love this watch. I also wear an Oura ring..no way I could sleep with any watch. I have the Gray/blue trail loop and will be getting the Black/Gray one soon. I do hope apple will be making more colors. Thanks for a great video. Looking forward to the one about your trip. Stay Well.
Nice video Justine. I too have the Apple Watch Ultra and think it's the best Apple Watch ever. I also have an Apple Watch 7 since I wear an Apple Watch almost 24 x 7. I even sleep with the Apple Watch for sleep tracking. With my normal use, I get about 3 days of use from my Apple Watch Ultra before I need to charge it. Then I swap it out with my Apple Watch 7. This two watch solution works for me and I really like the fitness tracking of having an Apple Watch on 24 x 7. Apple Pay with the Apple Watch is also a great feature. No need to pull out my iPhone like an animal for Apple Pay. :)
Thanks for the vid! I put an ultra on today. First impression: heavy. but! happy to say, just a half day later, I freaking love it! it's interesting how personal taste / preferences change so fast. or so slowly.. Once I started carrying a phone and using it for time-keeping, I didn't wear a watch for a half decade. then tried to wear a smart watch off and on, but the series 0 thru 4 Apple Watches weren't my cup of tea. Then I got hooked. and Loved loved loved my Apple Watches. And then the Ultra came out and beckoned yet repelled me, theoretically.. I loved so much about it, yet it looked bulky. Beautiful but odd. So 3 days ago I took the plunge. Bought one. Received it today. After 12 hours with it, I love it. I realize that since I've worn a dark aluminum Apple Watch for the past 4 or 5 years, that's what I'm accustomed to seeing / feeling on my wrist. all day, every day. and so of course a large titanium object will stand out and be very odd at first. Yet, I bet that very soon I will recalibrate my senses, to Love this particular titanium object. at the moment, touching it, the hard metal edges where curved sapphire was before us different from a tactile perspective, but I'm liking it. different but good! I'm glad I took the plunge. And I ordered one as a gift for a loved one. [Imagine this Ultra as a gift to one's own inner child, and to the inner adult. It is sooo nice!!!!]
Nope just for me I just have the Apple Watch series 7. But as a blind or visually impaired in my case visually paired. It would be nice to have the I watch ultra because it’s a bigger screen but only because it’s a bigger screen but other than that I’m OK with the Siri seven very OK I love it actually
I got one. I like the better y life. First time buying any type of Apple Watch. I’m not into extreme sports or any of that. Just everyday person. But I got it so it could motivate me to move and walk. Prior to getting it I’ve lost 18-20 lbs. So that’s why I got it to keep track and to compete with my sister on steps 😂 and it helps to keep me moving
I got the Series 8 recently and it's been great, It feels natural now to wear it to bed and it's the only thing that I've found that can wake me up in the morning with haptic feedback.
I really wanted to buy one. I ended up getting the series 7 at a discounted price and I love it. It’s not perfect and there’s some things that I don’t like. One day I’ll get an ultra or whatever the newest Apple Watch is. The series 7 has been so great for health and fitness tracking which was what I wanted it for.
I have an Apple watch Se on a two-year payment plan. So, I must wait another year before I can upgrade. By then I am hoping the Ultra, or the Watch 9 upgrade will be out and I will be able to choose new healthy goodness
Well I have just ordered a ultra and I was a bit nervous on the size of it because of my narrow wrist as well but hearing u talk about it I think I will be totally fine with it and I might have to order that thin strap as well .
Really do like the ultra except that charging times are very inconsistent!! it actually slow charges if I charge daily for even 15 minutes despite having the 18W charger and original braided cable that supports fast charging!!
The watch does look stunning! Justine, I couldn’t help but took the trip to memory lane when you said “I can’t swim” hihi. Remember when you dropped your camera in the water? 😄😊
This is the first time I buy an Apple watch, I went for the Ultra. First the size! It's not that large, it's perfectly suitable for 5.5 inch and above wrists. It's light relative to its size. However, if you buy this watch for health measurements, I recommend Garmin or something else, Apple watches seem very poor in this regard. Even though I have also connected the watch to its own G4 line with its eSIM, I could not play much without the iPhone. For example, the radio stations from Apple Music app did not work, they all are greyed out.
I think the watch is to big for your wrist size, a smaller watch would suit you much better and be more elegant in particular when dressed up for a night out.
while I do not regret getting the Ultra it is severely under utilized in my daily life. besides going to the gym, telling time and secondary communication device I don't do much with it. And having a job where I can't wear it 40 plus hours per week doesn't help. All that being said I think its beautiful and hope ill have an excuse to do more with it
Happy to hear that you love your trip to Indonesia. 🇮🇩 Nusa Tenggara province is majestic. If you have the opportunity to revisit Nusa Tenggara, please visit Wae Rebo, the majestic village in Nusa Tenggara Timur 😁 after that you may want to visit Padar Island, then komodo island, manta point (where you can see manta ray with naked eyes), pink beach (where the beach is literally pink), and other interesting places around Nusa Tenggara Timur. 🫶🏽
