Yeah he right. I only train long distance for marathons & Apple Watch does more than enough. If I were doing trail runs or ultra marathons I’d definitely go for the coros
I'm new to smartwatches... I had a galaxy smartwatch, I was thinking of Apple watch because its more accurate but both of them have the worst battery life. I think its coz I'm coming from Casio and I just forget I have a watch waiting for me to charge it.
Apple watch is plenty for 95% of the population. Even for serious runners and trail people the apex pro is a top tier watch. Battery life is its main calling card had you have run the gps function for days in the backcountry without worrying about battery life.
Yo Matt, I’ve never heard you reference heart rate zones when prepping, running races, etc. Is this something you pay attention to and focus on when training? Would be awesome to see your take on it 🤛🏼
Sometimes I don’t get is, everyone takes their watch off at night while sleeping. So what does it matter if you just leave the watch on the table or leave it on the table while it also charges. When you wake up in the morning it’s charged and ready to go. It’s not like you gotta go out of your way to charge it.
i wear my watch se while sleeping, to track my sleep, and usually charge it right after i woke up. never ran out of battery. it is not a hassle to charge it tbh
Yes same. I tried for a few nights tracking the sleep but out of curiosity what do you do with the sleep data? Like ya we find out about the Deep, REM and other sleep but if it’s off, how do you fix it?
@@WestEndNAB im training for marathon right now, so i need to know that i have enough sleep. but other than that, i just want to test out the battery and too lazy to turn off the sleep tracking lol
“Subpar” is an understatement, especially when you realize that’s the best battery life Apple has to offer. I charge my garmin every couple weeks…and that is par for a running watch imo. I can tell you’re trying not to be too harsh and they are beautiful watches.
Went from no watch ever to iPhone 13 Pro Max with ultra and I LOVE IT. When I don’t mess with it much it lasts 50 hours. And that’s not on low power mode
Start easy and light. Don't over do it - you don't want to get too sore to run, get blisters or other injuries which will likely add to your anxiety. Maybe walking only first if your real out of shape. Run one day, walk the next. Make sure you have very comfortable shoes that do not rub or slip. Also find a beautiful calm low traffic area to run in if possible. Tracks or athletic centers if streets are not good. Eat healthy and do stretching and strengthening exercises. Davidthemovementguy and many others on here have good advice.
I’ve been hindering from starting to run because of social anxiety, but for me, i just go to the running shoe shop and grab a good pair that they recommend for a newbie runner ( they recommended me Asic gel nimbus 26 bcoz of its super cushioning) and now i have to start running because i bought a quite expensive shoe haha. Starting to run now, planning to get a better watch( currently using gshock gbd100) and other gears. Hopefully you can do it too 👍
