So… my first thought with the magnetic strap is that people are going to be easily ripping them off peoples wrists in the subway….

The magnetic bands are going to create too many problems….

I hope the magnetic latch is just a leak conspiration, as always. This would render the watch unusable for fitness tracking and health features, which is its main selling point. Noone would wear a watch that is likely to fly off your hand, especially when stainless models cost so much

I hope they put Notch to distinguish from other model.

Time really flies , it's been 10 years since watch was launched and almost 18 years since first iPhone was launched

I got a Series 9 for my birthday two months ago. The only thing that will make me upgrade sooner is the long-rumored blood sugar monitoring.

Magnetic band definitely will have some sort of manual release that has to pressed. Think about the Vision Pro band connection

Unlike other people I am actually interested in a magnetic band, this is a great safety feature for people who wear their watch to work. People don’t think about how wearing a watch could get them seriously injured if it happened to get caught on something. The same thing goes for rings. I’m excited to upgrade from my series 6

The only feature I need is a battery that lasts one week at least. Is it so difficult to make an Apple Watch that I don't have to recharge every day?

I think the magnetic latch is needed due to the new band patent (the one with the small battery cells.)

I have no idea the needed to accurately check blood pressure on a wearable, but I think it’s a cool feature. My BP is usually fine, but have taken meds that increase it.

Are they bringing back the oxygen sensor? Did they settle with Masimo?

"Notify you if it detects hypertension"... But, what if I ALWAYS have hypertension!? Getting constant notifications about that seems like it would be VERY annoying!

It would be nice if there was a mechanism similar to a sim ejector tool to remove the watch band. To me, a magnetic watch band can be stolen easily, detect during sports, as well as lose its force over time.

My Ultra 2 is ready to be used for the coming 7 years atleast there will be no noticeable updates imo in the coming years for normal Apple Watches that would persuade me to upgrade, I’m not a phone of magnet bands as MagSafe is really strong for mobile phones but if you accidentally hit your phone it will come off the magnets and never in a million years are bands going to have stronger magnets then MagSafe, imagine doing cardio like running on a threadmill and all of a sudden you hit something with your watch bang its on the floor damaged!

How can u use it for sleep watching with a one-day battery life? However competitors are forcing 1 month battery life. I have no tendency to buy a new apple product as an old user. Also the services in Turkiye are far away from reliability.

I’ve been seeing these guesses online for weeks, and decided that I’m not interested in the straps that attach magnetically. So I went ahead and bought the Series 9, which is the best-developed model, understandably. And because I bought mine outside of the US, it has the Blood Oxygen feature. I’m very happy with the watch.

It would be awesome if it had an action button

The magnetic band really concerns me for activities like swimming for example… 1 dive and I’d worry the watch face ends up at the bottom of the lake with the band still around my wrist

Honestly the AI features can be exciting since it’s rumored iOS 18 will have an overhaul with AI… so if it can bring that stuff to the watch… I envision a watch version of the “humane AI pin” but faster and actually good since it’s connected to your phone and we already know how it works.

I’ve been using a series 6 since 2020. I don’t think I’ll upgrade for at least 1 more year

Finally, I can upgrade to something better than my old Apple Watch 7.. something at a good price range and totally different. AirPod 4 and Apple Watch X will be the two things I get for sure. My iPhone 13PM and iPad Mini 6 will be good for years to come

The only 2 things cool are the longer battery life and thinner bezels

One concern I haven’t seen people mention is that with a magnetic attachment, will it degrade overtime when people use it in water? Not to mention, a new watch attachment style will make all older bands completely obsolete.

Just like today you have to push a button down to slide the band off to the side, you’ll probably need to push a button down to tug the magnet off too

Don't know how true this will be but if the magnetic band thing is than it'll be EASY more of a middle finger to the lot of us that spent a lot on them, specifically the non apple branded ones because no one would be crazy enough to spend more than necessary on just ONE of their bands. It'll be wise than that whole debacle about the change from the 8 pin to the lightning porymt in iPhone prior to the 15 lineup.

It’s still mind blowing that it’s been 10 years and yet you need to actively charge it almost daily.

I actually said "nope" out loud as soon as you said it's gonna have magnetic attachments for the bands. I don't care how strong the magnets will be, that thing's gonna drop face first to the ground.

How is a magnetic strap required to make the device thinner. They could I easily make the current devices thinner and keep the sliding band set up. This is dumb.

Magnetic straps is not the way forward, a lot ppl doing high activity workouts or jobs will find the strap popping off and losing the watch, unless the magnets are quite strong

why wouldn’t they use the extra space saved from having a smaller strap for a bigger battery

It is highly annoying that it gives only the trend of the blood pressure and the oxygen saturation, instead of the real values. It looks like that the measuring points are affected by noise which need to be averaged, so the watch provide the trend and not the numbers. Maybe a future update could add some statistical autocorrelation which can filter the noise out? Half-baked watch. I don't buy anything Apple, as I stand against the idea of a closed ecosystem, but such device would make me very nervous. I need to see the numbers, as I'm in a better position to evaluate them; I don't need the opinion of an Apple engineer about my readings...
