I love them,both,until,I found,flordecańa2,the rare blend,was my goto,12year oldirum.If,it’s authentic Jamaican rum,you know,you can trust,the age statement. Thank you for the video

Just busted open an Appleton 12 year "Rare Casks" This rum is very good!..It's the bomb with a little 420 :)) Getting ready to watch game 6 of the NLCS here in Atlanta! Cheers folks.

First, I find the Rare Blend bottle a lot more stylish. Second, mixing Appleton with coke is a sacrilege. FFS, this is a sipper rum, not a crappy mixer.

The 12 year Rare Blend is really nice, at a third of the price of the 21 year, it is a sweet-spot. Tried the Rare Cask recently and really didn't like it at all. To me it was over "oaked".

I haven't picked up a new bottle to taste but I love the older bottle design and find it more elegant. Such an excellent rum. Great neat and fantastic in a mai tai.

@@ReadySetRum I highly recommend it! If you enjoy cocktails and a Mai Tai, I also highly recommend getting your hands on a bottle of Denizen's Merchant Reserve rhum. It was created specifically to emulate the old rum combination in the original Mai Tai. It stands as a sort of mixture between Jamaican rum and Rhum Agricole. Delicious neat as well.

It’s the first thing I was taught at a tasting at Appleton Estate. Legs tells you how old the rum is and it’s body. Green sheen also speaks of its ages. Not many ppl talk about either.

I was strictly a whiskey man for years, preferably Maker's Mark, then someone introduced me to the 12 year rare blend. Since then, for every bottle of Maker's I buy, I buy 3 times that in Appleton. I've even turned a few of my whiskey friends onto it.

Fortunately we don't have to choose between whisky or rum! If you ever get the opportunity, spring for a bottle of Dictador XO Insolent Colombian rum -- it's STUNNING.
